On a road trip from St. Louis to Seattle in an '86 Porsche 944 Turbo that I had just purchased ... temperature guage suddenly shot up into the red and I rolled into Ron's. Without hesitation they stepped up to diagnose the cooling system. Though they don't typically work on this kind of car, they dove right in and identified the simplest of fixes: old coolant recovery cap wasn't keeping pressure. They fixed my car but it still did the same thing so I took it back and they did not repair it for me. I paid over 400.00 and they just told me to drive it until it broke down. They said it was another part and they could not do it. My thing is why didn't they check that part when they diagnosed it? So I am out of a car and 400.00. read more

Had my car for a month. Tried to tell me that there was an issue with my power start even tho I told him I thought it was the alternator. Get the car back and within a day it has died on me again in the middle of 12th street traffic causing me to be late to work. Foolishly, I brought the car back. Tells me it's the alternator (go figure, right?? If only I had told you that to begin with?????). All in all I paid this man $420 to have my car for a month when I could have just bought an alternator for $60 and spent an hour in my garage. Absolutely do not go here. read more

Ron's Garage is the best. When I was living near Sioux Falls, I would take my car there all the time to get tuned up and have the oil changed. When I decided to move to South Carolina, he made sure my car (that had been in storage for 5 years) was road worthy. And even now that I am in South Carolina, I have called him to ask about vehicle questions and see if I am getting ripped off when I take my car in. I wouldn't take my car any other place than Ron's Garage! Ron knew exactly what was going on with my car and fixed the problem just like that. The quality of the work was top notch and it was a lot less expensive than going to other repair shops located in Sioux Falls. He also called me and let me know of another problem that I had and let me know he could fix it right then and there so I knew he looked over the car to see how the overall condition of the car was. Ron is an exceptionally helpful and honest guy running a great shop. Went over and above to help me out.

I took my car in for a small repair, and $200 dollars, and three days later (three back and forths to his garage) one of the problems I asked him to repair wasn't even fixed. I do not recommend him at all. When I first called I asked him how much it would be to scan my car. His answer was, "Just bring it in and I will see what I need to do." That cost $110. He's got a decent personality, but he's not straightforward. Mechanics like Ron are the reason mechanics get a bad name. I will never bring my car back to his shop read more
