If I could give this place ten stars, I would. You will have a wait when you get there, and you…read morewill wait no matter how long it takes. You cannot find a better place for a meal, or more kind folks running the place from top to bottom. And if your plate is too big to finish, feel free to take it home, because you'll want to save room for dessert. Magnolia 23 is a staple in our household. So long as we've lived within a 30 minute drive, it has been a great place for a Sunday lunch, or any other meal within the hours they are open. They treat you like family from the very start with the way that they take names for the line. It's natural to start a conversation with the people around you, because everyone has the same end game - a great meal. Once you're seated, it's never long before a waitress comes and takes your drink order. The menu for the day is posted on Facebook and written on the board on the wall, along with the sides and dessert options. There's no menus because it's a meat and two sides, plus a bread of either roll or cornbread. The seating is tables and chairs, although some areas have couches for seating, which is a nice change of pace. Today I got stewed beef with sides of mac and cheese, yams, and bread choice was cornbread. My other half got the country style steak, with sides of cabbage and rice with gravy, and bread of cornbread. The littles shared a fried chicken plate with side of mashed potatoes with gravy. They divided and conquered their food so fast I forgot to snag a picture of it. The stewed beef was perfection. So tender, and the juices went well with the cornbread. The yams were expertly spiced, and prepared with so much love. The mac and cheese was delicious, so I offered some to my youngest who promptly stole the rest of it. I did sample the country style steak, and it was so delicious that none was spared. I cannot wait to eat my leftover stewed beef later this week, as I knew I wanted to save room for dessert. We ordered two fried apple pies, and a slice of Hershey bar cake. Be careful with the fried pies - the filling turns into molten lava when heated, so despite the fact that you'll want to take the largest first bite, please be patient and spare your taste buds from their imminent demise by letting it cool a minute. The spices on the apple filling on the fried pies were perfect, and I savored every bite that I stole from my husband. My dessert was the Hershey bar cake, which I split with one of my littles. It didn't have a thick layer of icing, which was great. The cake had a nice crumb, and was sweet without being overly sweet. If you haven't been here yet, make sure to take note of their hours and then take a trip to Asheboro. Once you've finished your meal, feel free to take a stroll around downtown and know that you've just had the best meal around. Magnolia 23 is worth the price and worth the wait, because you will be blessed by the whole experience.

I'm new to the area and have been having a hard time finding local places who know how to season…read moreand cook food properly. Happened to drive by Ring of Fire Grill and noticed all of the cars parked out front and thought I would give them a try. I have eaten there three times now in less than a month. The food is gooooood and so is their sweet tea! First visit -tried the Reuben Sandwich with fries. It was a perfect Reuben! The Rye bread was fresh and tasty with the perfect ratio of cheese, sauerkraut and corned beef. Served hot with hot crispy crinkle fries that were lightly seasoned. Second visit -tried the Chicken, Bacon & Ranch Wrap with fries. It was served HOT with hot crispy crinkle fries with a side of Ranch to pour over your bites. The wrap was a GENEROUS portion, served cut in half. The grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The wrap has cheese, bacon, grilled chicken, tomatoes, shredded lettuce and onions. The ranch is HOMEMADE and is the best ranch I've had in the area. The sandwich is the best sandwich I've had since coming to the area (Asheboro/Randelman/Ramseur). I've been trying a lot of the locally owned and operated places too. Nobody is even coming close in quality and taste (sandwiches) to Ring of Fire! Third visit, had one of the daily specials. It was a Hibachi Chicken Wrap with fries. Again, the crinkle fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sandwich again was a GENEROUS portion, served hot and cut in half. The wrap had juicy grilled chicken, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, fried rice, and cheese in it. It was served with a white mayonnaise based sauce that was really good. This hibachi wrap is the 2nd best sandwich in the area that I've had so far. The young man behind the counter is super friendly, professional, helpful and I watched him help an elderly lady with her walker to get through the front door which shows he is also KIND. An attribute that is lacking in today's world. Last, I noticed cleanliness. This is a clean and organized restaurant. It's not fancy. All paper, plastic and styrofoam service ware. People who come here return often, some daily. That should tell you something. I forgot to take a picture of the Reuben sandwich, sorry.

How many quaint, down home places do you know where you can order hibachi made to order, hotdogs,…read morePhilly steak, BLT, or all day breakfast?! AND they have a drive-thru! There is limited seating inside, and some outside. We sat outside and it was great to eat outdoors in warm air after a long winter. The location is at the very end of a strip mall, near a secondary road. It's not overly bothersome, just be aware that it's not quiet sitting outside. The service was friendly, despite being super busy. She brought our food outside to us when it was ready. We ordered hibachi chicken with rice, chicken with noodles, and chicken tenders with fries. The hibachi chicken and rice was okay 3/5. The noodles get 0/5. The chicken tenders were huge and get a 4/5. This probably explains why all of the locals were eating burgers and all day breakfast (reminder to listen to the locals!) My youngest son said it looked like "a hole in the wall Chinese food place" inside - and he's right. Inside there's stacks of plasticware, napkins, and yum yum sauce next to the grape jelly. It was an okay lunch, but if we came here again we would get something other than hibachi.
