Located in a strip mall and tucked in behind another restaurant it can be easily overlooked. Small restaurant offering big flavors at a great price. Enter the restaurant, head to the counter and was greeted immediately. The young lady took our order offered suggestions as well as patience while we ordered. Our food was served within 10 minutes after we ordered. I ordered 2 sliders, 2 tenders, sweet potato fries, and a drink for $15. Now here's the best part, it is GOOD! Everything was served hot. The fries and tenders were crispy! The sliders were the size of a small burger from any fast food chains. Now here's the kicker for all my ice munching lovers, they have that good ice! Unfortunately, we simply did not have a good experience here, and given the price would have expected much better. We were in the mood for some "fancy" burgers, and given what they do here at Sammy's (and that we had never been) decided to go for it. We both left wishing we had gone to one of several other known quantities in the area that also have some creative burgers. We both ordered the 2 slider combo, one of us went with two burger sliders, the other did a burger and chicken tender slider. One of us got fries, the other upgraded to onion rings. We also added on an all the way hot dog, because I can't help myself but try them wherever I go. Service at the counter was helpful, and the restaurant pretty clean. Drinks are self-serve in somewhat of a tight area for people moving through. They give you a number and bring the food to your table when ready. When the meal arrived, just visually, we were not excited by anything... except the hot dog. We'll start there, the brightest spot of the meal. The bun was clearly buttered and griddled, and biting in, you get a tasty frank, balanced chili and slaw, just enough onions and mustard. If I were to return, it would probably be for hot dogs. All three slider burgers were dry as a bone. They did not at all give the appearance of a burger that was griddled to order. The bacon cheeseburger did not come with any kind of sauce, to make that edible, we added some ranch that came with the onion rings. The buffalo chicken tender slider was quite bland for buffalo style, and soggy. The fries were good, but the onion rings were not. I don't think the oil was hot enough, so not only were they mealy and not crispy, they were just so oily that it made them unappealing. Given what we paid, and compared to other burgers in the area, I don't see us coming back. read more

With the exception of the service I would have given this location a 2 star review. The service gave the extra star. We were looking for a burger and Sammy's Sliders in Winston was a good experience for us so since we are not that far from Kernersville we came over here. It is not hard to find, in the same lot as a Lowe's grocery store. There were only a couple of people here and we placed a normal order. It took around 20 minutes to get the order. Although we got apologies really we shouldn't be waiting that long for a few burgers, a shake, salad and fries, especially when it cost over $30. Went back and was pleasantly surprised they brought back the hand cut fries! Just as great, was their side salad. The veggies were clean, crisp and fresh, very good. The blue cheese dressing was great. Much better than expected. The team members all did great taking our order and delivering the food to the table. I love Sammy's sliders in Winston so I was so excited for a friend and I to enjoy the Sammy's sliders in Kville for lunch! This location had every ounce of delicious food that the Winston location has. I love that their chicken tenders are bigger than my hand and you can get two, a slider, and a drink as a combo. The space is huge, much bigger than Winston and I like that they have all of their condiments out for the taking. My only qualm is with the service. I always get my tenders dipped in honey bbq and it was listed as an option on the menu. I asked the guy when I ordered for honey bbq and he stated they didn't have that. I told him it's on their menu and he looked at it and smiled and waited for me to order something different. He didn't check to see if they had it or tell me they were out of it so I was just confused. But I did get the hot honey sauce and it was delicious! read more

This is a second location of this fast casual restaurant, the first is located off of Hanes Mall Blvd at Stratford in Winston, where it began initially as Myfrii. This place is much larger, and the menu has grown a bit, but it basically offers a variety of sliders, fries, chicken tenders, and milk shakes. The sliders cost $3.69 for classic sliders to $4.29 for deluxe ones. Food is solid - I have tried several of the sliders - All American Cheeseburger, Bacon Mania Burger O. G. Sammy's, and the Fish Filet. And on this visit I wanted to try the Tarheel burger, among other things. So I went with the No1 Combo - Sammy's Slider and the All American Cheeseburger with Hand Cut Fries - and a couple of Tarheel burgers. As I said I've found the food here to be solid, but my experience on this visit was a bit off, pretty much across the board. The beef patties are 3 oz, loaded on a small dinner roll size bun. All four sliders I received were poorly put together - more like thrown together - this was simply sloppy kitchen technique, and the All American Cheeseburger was way over cooked. The Tarheel Burgers were very disappointing, sloppy construction with very little slaw or onion present. I would definitely not order this again. And on this visit the Hand Cut Fries were poorly cooked, totally limp. Kitchen had a bad day as to what I ordered. read more

Small place, big flavor. Popped into Sammy Sliders and grabbed a tray that hit way above its weight class. I went with the Hot Honey Slider and the Philly Slider, with a pile of hand-cut fries and an ice-cold Cheerwine from the fountain because, well... North Carolina. The Hot Honey Slider brought the perfect kick -- sweet, spicy, and juicy with a crisp lettuce crunch to round it out. The Philly? Cheesy, meaty goodness with just enough grilled onions to feel like you're cheating on a cheesesteak in the best way possible. Fries were golden and cooked just right -- crisp edges, soft centers. No regrets there. Food came out fast, the staff was friendly without being pushy, and the whole place had a clean, modern vibe. I imagine it could get pretty loud if it's packed, but that's the price you pay for sliders that actually are good. What stood out most? Solid food, quick service, and decent value. Very reasonable pricing for the quality in my opinion. The sliders were bigger than most- two was plenty for my hubby and cooked perfectly and the meat was flavorful. What we also enjoyed is the mix and match slider option- you don't have to get two of the same and you can even get chicken! I loved the home made French fries, too. We ate at Sammy's Sliders in Kernersville the other day and wow, we loved it. We both ordered Combo 3 and will definitely be back. We tried a variety of sliders including the Tar Heel Burger, BBQ Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, and the Yellowstone Burger. All of them were delicious. Their honey mustard and ranch were also really good. This place is in the old Ledo pizza location next to Lowe's Food. We wanted to try it but waited until the excitement of a near restaurant wore off. It's remodeled inside making it nice and bright. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The choices are different sliders or chicken fingers in different sauces. We ordered a combo with a house salad. Will start with the positives: - hand cut fries were well-seasoned - the ranch and Sammy's sauce was tasty - the restaurant was clean The experience: My husband, step-son and I chose Sammy's Sliders over one of my other favorite burger places in Kernersville tonight. Each of them ordered the #3 combo, my husband ordered an extra slider and I ordered 3 sliders and a side of fries plus some sauces.. Our total was $74 and some change. There were several employees working behind the counter and not a lot of people in restaurant. We sat at a table towards the back of the restaurant. Not long after we had been there, an employee brought out an order of fries and two sauces. We were all a little puzzled as to why they brought them out without the rest of the food. Maybe a little over 5 minutes later, an employee brought the two combos. I told her we were missing my sliders and my husbands extra order. She immediately walked away with a gimmace and without a word. When she came back with those, I told her we were also missing 3 sauces and 2 slaws. Again, seemingly bothered, the employee walked away without a word. She brought their two TINY (maybe 2 oz cup) servings of slaw. The burgers were overcooked and dry. The fries were a little warmer than room temperature. I am always game to spend a little extra money on good food, but Sammy's Sliders' mediocre food and poor service is NOT worth it. I stopped in to check out Sammy's one evening to grab something to go. The employee at the counter greeted me quickly with a friendly smile. The inside is very clean and laid back. I ordered the Sammy's combo 1 which is your choice of 2 sliders (signature) and fries. You get the option of crinkle cut or hand sliced fries. I opted to upgrade my sliders to a couple of their deluxe options. I ordered the Yellowstone and the A1. The Yellowstone contains cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce and an onion rings while the A1 slider has provolone, grilled onions, and A1 sauce. For a fast food joint the quality of the food is above the standard. I did however prefer the Yellowstone over the A1 but I think that's just the dimension the onion rings added. I did order the crinkle cut fries which were a bit unusual. They were your standard crinkle cut fries but almost tasted like a battered fry. I'm not complaining by any means as they were great. We try to go Sammy's at least once per month. We went after church on Sunday only to learn they have removed the hand-cut fries, A-1 slider, and the decomposed fries bowl. The 3 things we loved and usually came for are no longer there. The hand-cut fries were one of the things that really set them apart from other chains. To our surprise we asked about Millie because we've gotten used to seeing her and found out she's no longer there. Let's just say we won't be back.
