I have been taking my vehicles here now for the last 3 years, and this team has yet to disappoint. I just got my Frontier back from a break job and a U joint replacement. In the current market where most places are trying to rip you off, or over charge you for mediocre service, or second rate goods, these guys do quite the opposite. Coming from a penny pincher, more so while my son is off at college, saving a buck nowadays is more a necessity. The customer service is outstanding, and the time and care they give to the customer is definitely above and beyond. THIS SHOP IS A DISGRACE AND SCAMS THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS Family member recently brought in his BMW for a valve cover gasket and NEW spark plugs as preventive maintenance the car had NO LIGHTS. He was charged $800 for the job and received his car back with an engine misfire. Bills Auto made no mention of the misfire until we made a 40 minute drive to the shop upon arrival they decided to do a diagnostic for free (Found it funny since they charge everyone $100+ to sit in your car and plug in a tool provided by the company) all just to tell us that his ignition coil is now bad (scammers) and that's why it's misfiring now blaming it on the new parts they just installed implying they'd make other parts fail...lol. they also test drove the car during its misfires to "diagnose" the situation further wearing additional components adding salt the wound anyways they Charge my brother $40 for an ignition coil and send him on his way..they got him... for a Valve cover gasket job that was supposed to take 2 days max they had the car for a WEEK no discounts no sorry we messed up nothing my brother receives the car back but it's STILL misfiring & stalling we learned there's an ECCENTRIC VALVTRONIC SENSOR INSIDE THE ENGINE pitted up against the valve cover and it's very easy for shops that don't know what there doing to damage it. We called and implied that the installation may have damaged other components however bills auto being the scammers they are couldn't provide a discounted shop rate or even WARRANTY the valve cover gasket and spark plugs to take a peak inside and deduce what actually went wrong in their installation. put simply they'd rather not entertain work they messed up on that they know they won't be paid for. Now the BMW stalls out after startup when idling. unfortunately they told him to get lost and sent him info for another shop farther NORTH. My brother is nothing but kind and deserves honest work not 17-18 year olds pretending they know engine maintenance. *He needs this car to get to get to college and they've now only made his life harder while being all the more expensive.. $800 is no half price that's full price Lol these guys have a dishonest shop & know it all techs. I have been using BHP for about ten years and they have always been honest, up front and great value for about half what a dealer will charge. I bought a used Ford Explorer in 2020 with 167k miles and the guy who sold it to me reset the check engine light to cover problems with the car. I continue to be satisfied with the work I have done at Bill's. The "half price" in the name may seem misleading, but if I'm getting this right it only applies to the cost of labor, not parts. Anyways, I like these guys. I never got the feeling that I was being taken advantage of, but the I do think I know a bit about car repair too, so maybe that helps. *****DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE*** Brought my car here to get a wheel bearing replaced. I told bills that I had a feeling i need new brakes soon and asked them to take a look. They insisted my brakes and rotors DID NOT need to be replaced. Just 1 month later my brakes are GRINDING my rotors!! They clearly should have been able to see they needed to be replaced! Now I am having to pay for a new set of rotors when bills could've prevented me from paying for if they would have just done a proper brake inspection! I wouldn't trust these guys with a oil change. Thank you and great job! Fixed what I thought was going to be bad... and it turned out to be a small problem. My car actually sounds quieter now too! Only cons--I thought I was going to get a phone before they did the work. Again, it was a small inexpensive fix so maybe that's why they didn't call ahead of time? Other con, I had to call them by the end of two days later to find out the issue--Rather than getting a call back. I don't know if they were backed up or not. So... some lack of communication, but overall they did a great job! I wouldn't have known about this business if a neighbor hadn't referred me, and I trust them to take my car back there. read more

Paid over $2000 for new condenser, AC compressor, radiator hoses for my fusion and my AC was never fixed. Then they said let's replace the HP switch and that didn't do anything. Come to find out it was my evap temp sensor that I ended up replacing. Don't take your car here. Place sucks along with the coward I spoke with. read more

I am new to the area. I have one car that I rely on. I had one initial diagnosis and took my car here to get a detailed diagnosis and hopefully repaired. I received my diagnosis and unfortunately they could not do the repair but referred me to another place that can. Had I taken it to the dealership to get a diagnosis it would have cost me $180. I already wrote a review on Google but I figured I would put it here as well so more people could see it. I had done some work on my own car new coil pack, spark plugs, etc. After driving for a few weeks mycar broke down so I had my grandpa tow it to this shop for me. We couldn't park it perfectly but we did our best. When I went in the next day the guy at the front desk was extremely rude about the way my car was parked. I apologized and explained the situation, he scoffed and took my keys, name and number. They ran a diagnostic and got to fixing my car, they said it was a coil issue. I figured I might've messed up. $400 later I get my car back, its still having issues, part of my door was broken (the cover that hides the wires that control the electronic mirror) I didn't care too much about that but the fact that it happened was ridiculous. When I called the shop and said it was still having issues they said they'd have to charge me for another diagnostic. I ended up going to a different garage and turns out my coils and spark plugs were fine, my air intake, catalytic converter and a few other parts were the problem. My catalytic converter was literally imploded, the other shop told me that this place was likely trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. Bill's is my new go-to for car repairs. Very knowledgeable folks that provide honest, affordable services. I've had brake work done, oil changes, alignment and diagnostic work done here and was very satisfied with the whole process, every time. Recently, I was told *by another shop* that I needed some suspension work done (before they could do my alignment) to the tune of $1000. The other shop was disorganized (at best) regarding my paperwork and getting back to me, so I said "screw them" and took my car to Bill's to check the suspension and another noise the engine was making. After the mechanics at Bill's took a look, they informed me that "everything looks good, nothing was needed" on the suspension. I almost couldn't believe it!! I went to this automobile repair shop because I needed some quick help on removing and replacing a alternator drive belt on my Ford F250 V-10 Super Duty Pickup. I called for a quote and the the work was done within the time frame that was quoted and the quote was fair in the price point. The Representative showed me the old belt that was replaced. The old belt had some cracks on it and during the hot weather you can't take chances of break downs when you're about to go on the road. The Representative was pleasant and there is a small waiting room for customers to sit while the work is being done. I provided the belt so their labor warranty does not extend if the customer furnishes any parts. Bill's Half Price Auto Repair was hired for their skill and labor only. For me, they did the job and I'm on the road. So I'm happy with their service. * I was not paid for this recommendation not do I have any financial interest in this business. read more

I was bound and determined to replace my alternator and knew that it would cost better than $400. Bill's only had to change it out and collect their money. Lucky for me they have integrity! A bad battery connection was fixed and they said the alternator was in good shape. I walked out for $30!! I had to drive across the metroplex to get there and I'll do it again if the car has issues. read more

These guys said I needed $1000-1500 worth of work to my car. NONE OF THIS WORK WAS NECESSARY. I got a second opinion, who said my car was fine. My car passed state inspection the next day and the same area of the engine was checked during this inspection. Be careful. These guys will try to rip you off. read more

Very unprofessional experience at Bill's. We took our Cobalt in for a front-end alignment which runs $79. We also asked for them to also pull the codes for our check engine light, ONLY for the reason it was on, NOT for them to go ahead and fix whatever the problem was. The man who helped us even asked to make sure all we wanted was the codes pulled, we said yes that's all, and he said okay. Well, they ended up fixing the problem anyway without asking us, after all we said we wanted was the codes pulled, and our bill jumped up to $244. So we had to pay for repairs we SPECIFICALLY DID NOT REQUEST because we don't have the money to get it fixed right now, But we had to pay it anyway to get our car back. The man was very apathetic about the entire situation, with a "not my problem" kind of attitude, and didn't even attempt to extend an apology for the confusion. Our child support payment is going to be late this month because of this. Extremely unprofessional, we will not be going back, and we will be telling friends and family about our experience with Bill's. You have lost a potential life-time customer/referrals. Brush up on your customer service a bit in the future, it is lacking. *Edited to add that we will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I brought my car up there on Monday at 12pm, spoke with Mike and he told me to leave it and they will get to it today latest tomorrow morning. I call Tuesday at 9am and spoke with Mike again and he said there still hasn't been a diagnostic. I call again at 12:30 and 2:30pm that same Tuesday and NOTHING! Still no diagnostic! I asked for an estimated time he nonchalantly said "later today". I had been busy running errands all day so i waited till 5:30pm and just told them to leave the keys in the car and that i will come get it. I had an issue with what I thought was the starter, but it turns out it was the connections to my battery. The rep diagnosed the problem, and didn't even charge me anything. A lot of places may have been shady, and just fixed a problem that didn't even need to be fixed. They also quoted me the lowest prices in town, and there was another that wanted to charge me 3x what Bill's quoted. I have used Bills for about 3 years. They are as the name implies about 40-50% cheaper than the dealer. They are very honest/trustworthy. As an example, I have a Honda Odyssey with 140,000 miles and the A/C was intermittent. They gave me a price less than 1/2 the dealer cost to redo the system. I took it to them fully expecting that price, as I figured at 140,000 miles it was worn out. Surprisingly, 3 hours later they called and said it was ready. The charge was $160. It had a couple of minor issues. Most other Mechanics would have just R&R'd the whole thing, and charged FULL POP. These guys are the real deal! read more

I paid $1,214 for the diagnosis of my Air conditioning system, new Condenser, compressor, drier, refrigerant, and labor. Along with an upper and lower radiator hose replacement.. they said the car was ready... I picked it up and it blew cold for 2 minutes. I had to drive all the way back so they can keep my car till Monday. Came to find out my High side pressure switch was out. For all the trouble that I went through, they could have ate that up. I had to wait 2 1/2 days to get my car, then pay $92... I will never go there again. read more

Brought my vehicle in for brakes / power steering repairs. Ended up having to bring it back for both issues multiple times. Spent a lot of $ for what should have been a pretty basic fix. Less than a year later my power steering went out again ,brakes squeal, and shed brake dust like no tomorrow. Called back to ask about the power steering and they would barely warranty the parts but said they would charge labor to do the same work over again. Real question is why use parts that are going to have break / poop out in less than a year? Go figure....had to take vehicle to new mechanic who not only had to put a new pump in but also found metal shavings in the steering fluid. Coincidence? Maybe....lastly if you plan on taking your vehicle here be prepared to be without wheels for a while, takes a long time....heard from other friends with bad experiences.
