My impressive haul for only $35!!!
    Veronica F.

I drive past this place all the time and never thought much. With Contra Costa being in shelter in place I started wondering how I can support local businesses as well as avoid the long lines at standard grocery stores. Bill Bly's has an amazing assortment of fresh herbs, produce, salad, Asian and tropical produce, tofu, and fresh eggs. There are a few dried goods like rice, canned items, beans, and pasta but I haven't tried that yet. On my first haul I got Eggs, Kabocha, Carrots, Plantain, Herbs, Papaya, Celery, Philippine mangoes, Chinese eggplant, Tomatoes, Bell peppers, Potatoes Dried chilies. All for $35! My second haul today was more expansive and included specialty items okra, cherries, dragon fruit. I will make this my regular place.

The final price it last me 1 1/2 to 2 weeks for a family of 3

I love this market. There is parking on the side but it can fill up quick. There is a ton of fruit and vegetables to pick from. All the fruit that is in season is very well priced. I'm pretty sure that everything here is organic. They also have a wide verity of beans and rice. The vegetables are very fresh. I liked that they have prepackaged vegetables. They also have a lot of fruits you can't find in your local grocery store like guava and dragon fruit. They have a small dairy section. They do have organic eggs. I think the prices here are very reasonable and I rather get my fruits and vegetables here because it seems to save me a lot of money. I highly recommend this place or any organic local produce market.

    Wow very big nice Monge

Deliciously fresh produce at attractive prices. Friendly, efficient service. Much preferred over supermarket long lines and high prices.

Fam buys most of our fresh fruit from Bill's. Prices are reasonable and they have a good selection of seasonal items.

Was at the light and saw it was a produce and a fish market. I took the detour and went in and found a very rare fish that is my mom's favorite. Their fruits and vegetable section is FILTHY with rotting fruit and vegetables out for you to "buy" there are fruit flies as well. I've attached two pictures taken on Wednesday Jan 23 2025. Also like other comments mention the cashiers are not very friendly either.

I've been coming to this store since I was a child, and it holds a lot of sentimental value for me…read more I remember the previous owners and how different the experience used to be. it pains me to say this but Unfortunately, under the current ownership the quality has gone way down. The produce is often spoiled or expired, and it's still put out for sale. Prices are also very high, especially for items that aren't fresh. I'm giving two stars purely out of nostalgia--otherwise, this would be a one-star review. This store used to be a dependable neighborhood market, but it's clear that things have changed--and not for the better. The current management either isn't paying attention or simply doesn't prioritize customer experience. One of the biggest issues is the checkout process. The cashiers, mostly younger women, often spend more time gossiping with each other than helping customers efficiently. While it's understandable to chat during slow moments, it becomes a problem when it delays service. Many of them seem distracted, and it shows in how slowly they bag items and how disengaged they are. Multitasking seems to be a challenge for some of them, and the checkout process ends up taking much longer than it should. Only one or two staff members consistently provide quick, professional service. Beyond that, the store seriously needs to improve the freshness and quality of its products. Additionally, the store could benefit from paying closer attention to quality control. With a few improvements in staff training this place could regain its former reputation

They wouldn't make a chile relleno burrito because she wasn't allowed to. So then I asked the guy making burritos; if she charged me for ingredients if he could make one? This guy pretended not to speak English. I speak Spanish, so I tried again. There was nothing but disrespect and incompetence. This crew was truly disappointing. I was starving and left with no food!
