Since my last review I see a bunch of one star reviews. I read most of them and honestly, it seems like they are from people who tried to bills and for whatever reason had one unfortunate bad experience, and didn't contact the store to discuss. We've been going to bills for years and not only have we never had a truly bad experience, but even the once or twice where a couple of the crabs weren't perfect when we contacted the store they absolutely made it right. Don't listen to all these one star reviews. Loyal customers, know that Bill's is high-quality anconsistent. Bill's seafood and iconic. Legendary. Irreplaceable. If you're looking for fresh steamed crabs then this is the place to go. Honestly I would choose bills over almost any other local crab shack for crabs to go. The steamed shrimp are decent but not as fantastic as the crabs. If you're getting crabs here then you might as well get the rest of your items as well, but I wouldn't go here if I was only ordering shrimp. They have plenty of frozen selections as well as package goods, and carry a wide selection of J.O. Products. Sadly they don't seem to carry Hank's hot sauces anymore.... :( I'll be honest, I haven't gotten crabcakes or crab imperial here, but I can't imagine they wouldn't be good. I simply don't waste my time on them because I always get steamed crabs. If I haven't made it clear, this is the place to go for steamed crabs. And if you go here for any reason then you should be getting steamed crabs. Anything else is just something on the side. read more

My go to for fresh rockfish for years. Always delicious.... They cook it for you if you choose which we do as it keeps smell out of our house. You can purchase uncooked. There's other fish & seafood options of course. And various sides, salads & desserts. Note it's carry out & no seating. They've added a small wine selection as well. read more

Bills Seafood is a community staple for fresh crabs and seafood. It is family owned and always has friendly faces. This is a pick-up only place and does not have dine-in options. Bill's is my favorite for steamed crabs with the perfect amount of seasoning, macaroni salad, potato salad, and don't forget the shrimp!! Honestly the best steamed shrimp you can find around. They sell beer and wine and offer catering. There are always specials and deals too to check out on their fb page. Highly recommend! read more

Bill's is literally tucked away from the curb, and easily missed. After seeing their sign on the street for years, one day I decided to go in on a whim to check out their jumbo crab cake. I am not a commissar of seafood, just a guy whose learned to love a delicious crab cake now and again. Theirs are luscious! I 've gotten a crab cake from so many seafood stores in the area. It's run like a family business with a warm atmosphere. The jumbo crab cake had little bread filler and very reasonably priced. Initially the size looks small for a jumbo, but when you consider the cost, it's a deal. Don't forget to get a black bottom cupcake, it is sheer tastiness. Almost forgot, they bring your order to you in your car if you like, so you don't have to wait in the store, which can be crowded. Best crabs I've had this season! I've been to several places and these have been the most flavorful and meaty crabs yet. The curbside, no contact delivery was great as well. They only had small females for the day, however, if those where their small, I'm excited for the larger sizes. This is a nice little hut with a great thing going. I've been going here for years and was consistent until I found a new place (JM seafood) closer to my house much better and WAY better service! Well, JM was closed Tuesday and we got a crab craving so we went back to Bills. THESE WERE AWFUL! Never again. Resteamed light watery Poop that gave me the poops. We threw most of them away. Ordered a bushel of crabs yesterday for a birthday get together. Cost each person 50 dollars to pitch in. Worst crabs I have ever had. They were soggy warmed over and green inside. I should have taken them right back. I still don't know why I didn't except we had 8 people sitting around all ready to eat. Please don't waste your hard earned money. I bought ten carb cakes at $16.95 a cake. They were the worst carb cakes I have ever eaten. More than half were thrown out. The crab cake was basically 80% bread and 20% crab. The flavor was so lacking. I should have realized there was an issue when I was charged a dollar more than what was on menu board as well as the window. I was told the price is a dollar more when cooked, eben though the cooked board stated $15.95 too. I paid the higher price and tipped the young man that waited on me as he tried to get the owner to make the adjustment. So....if you want bread cakes go to Bill's if you want a fabulous crab cake go to Casa Mias. read more

Placed an order at 10:15a for crabs for a 5p pickup. get there at 4:40p pay they said they'll bring it to my car 5:10p sombody came out saying they didn't have anymore crabs. there was Atleast 10 familys waiting and all got told the same thing. Yikes. I used to go to Vince's out in Middle River but y'all know how it went down with that business. I was looking for a new crab place and Bills is quite close by. I ordered a dozen large males for $70 and a dozen mixed females for $33. Pretty decent pricing. But you get what you pay for. I've never had male crabs this bad. They were almost all light or stinky. I paid for large males and they threw in some small ones mixed in that were also light. I threw away at least half of them. I felt so bad for wasting so much money on large crabs that I couldn't even eat. The females were much better, not stinky and a least heavier than the males which is quite unusual. The worst part is that I brought these over for a dinner party and was so embarrassed at how bad they were. Just all in all a bad first experience at Bills seafood. I will not go back. read more

This was a catered event. I can't say enough about the food other than fabulous!!! Good thing I had big oval plates, my group went for all food that was offered, such an array of food...unbelievable. Picked up 4-crab cakes for dinner $45 (price not too bad) but cakes were horrible. I don't recall having a worse crab cake anywhere in/around Baltimore. So much more filler/bread than crab meat. There was sooo much filler, I could only eat 1-cake. You normally get 4- good sized cakes out of a pound of crab meat. I would imagine Bill's gets about 8- Cakes per pound. Not good. Bad Crabs I used to be a regular customer but I moved out of the area . Recently found myself near Bill's so I was like why not....I placed an order for Medium males $ 40.00 for one dozen I got home opened the bag and found small crabs and the taste was so bad . I was turned on to this place by my cousins. We had some crabs on Labor Day and they were just delicious. Looking at the menu one day at work I noticed that they sold cold crabs. I couldn't even wait until the weekend. I went on a Wednesday. The employees were very friendly. Although I only went to get cold crabs when I left I had purchased 4 dozen of cold crabs, jumbo lump crab cake, 1lb of steamed shrimp and a stuffed shrimp. This food was simply delicious. A MUST VISIT! The sign outside says: "The best kept secret", and it is right! I absolutely LOVE this fish.It being my first experience, I was a little leary of ordering a lot because I have been disappointed with othe DC establishments. My first experience was just what I needed and I am thoroughly satisfied with it. I had one piece of catfish filet and coleslaw. The fish was seasoned and fried just to my liking and specification ' "not fried hard". The crust was hard and crunchy, the meat was moist and tender. Not a lot of places no how to do this, so to this I SAY HAT'S OFF! The coleslaw was spicy and creamy which I love! I hate that I only ordered only one piece. I will be back THIS WEEK to try other. The African American guy that cooked the fish (not sure if he is the owner or not) was customer oriented and once I told him this was my first time there, he did not hesitate to offer me a sample of a new sauce....however I didnt even eat the sauce. You can pick and buy as much fish and other seafoods as you want and they fry it there! For me it was inexpensive for what I received! Bill's wasn't my first choice initially but it is very convenient as it is close to home. Wide variety of seafood options, however, I have only purchased steamed crabs and steamed shrimp up to this point. The seasoning is good and flavorful. I am a die hard crab eater and with that I will say I have never experienced a problem or dissatisfaction with my crab purchase(s) although I generally buy Jumbos, very rarely X Large, and never anything smaller than that so I can not offer an opinion beyond that scope. Prices are very, very reasonable in comparison to other crab locations in east Baltimore County. Staff has always been very polite and friendly. Never had an issue with that. Lastly, you can call ahead to place an order and/or order online. I have never experienced an unusual wait time. read more

My husband and I ordered the 3 dozen of medium males that were advertised on the front sign. I call to see if they were available and the lady that answered said that they were....however she stated they were a mix of small and medium crabs for the $49. I ordered the crabs for a 5pm pickup Sunday, September 19th. My husband arrived shortly before 5pm to pick up the crabs. He was instructed to sit outside after the crabs were paid for... and the crabs would be brought out to him. At 520pm the crabs were brought to his truck. We live about 10 minutes away and started to eat the crabs just before 6p. We mainly bought these to pick for soup and crab cakes. As we continued to go through these crabs we were very disappointed. I called to try and return them... however the store had closed. The next day I called when the business reopened Monday, September 20th. I explained the situation to the lady that answered. She told me to hold for the manager. After 10 minutes on hold....Bill answered with an attitude. He kept repeating that is was "Mother Nature" that caused the crabs to be dry and some to be very watery. I have been buying crabs from a place in Fallston the last several years and have never had a problem like this. I asked for a refund or a replacement of these crabs at no charge. He refused. He was very rude...constantly over talking me repeating it was "Mother Nature". He also said that anyone dissatisfied with the crabs should bring them back immediately. He said this was posted in the lobby. My husband never saw this since he was asked to sit and wait in his truck. We are very disappointed that we wasted $49 on horrible crabs. I stopped here cause I was looking for some local seafood. And I ended up with a tuna steak, which I later overcooked. I can't really judge about how good it was because it wasn't cooked well; obviously not their fault. As far as the interior/service: it was what you'd expect from a local place. This is not my normal go-to place for crabs. However, most places did not have anything larger than medium males for the Super Bowl. I myself normally eat XL or Jumbo crabs. Well, the size was there, however, they were overcooked and not meaty at all. I was really disappointed. If Wateran's doesn't have what I want, I just won't be eating crabs that day. read more

Ordered a soft crab sandwich and platter - best I've had since I was on Smith Island. Cooked and seasoned perfectly - kudos on this MD delicacy done right. Coming back this week for round two. Was very disappointed. I figured I try this place for first time. Bad decision! Ordered a half bushel of crabs for a party. Took some out to eat left rest in box to keep warm. Go to dump out rest and after counting them there was only 26 crabs and about 6 were bad. Missing a dozen crabs. Call they said they give me dozen if I come back. No pissed that we were shorted a dozen and they tasted horrible also not in mood to eat crabs from Bill's. They refunded only$50 and I ask for manager to call which he never did. Stick with Conrad's so so much better. Never will go back!!! read more
