Broke down 1/2 way home on a Sunday. Tow guy was super helpful & quick! Turned out engine went-was able to keep car at Bill's at no extra charge while I had surgery & recovery-TY! Picked up stuff from car with help of employee & they bought vehicle so price to run diagnostics & towing was basically a wash. I feel they were honest & respectful of my situation at time. Worst car repair experiene ever in my long life. Brought my pickup in for a wheel bearing replacement. Although I had an appointment, the shop kept me waiting for about four hours before even beginning work. Then they told me the vehicle needed a new CV axle, which I suspect it actually did not. I let them put the axle on, and they charged me $750 for a simple job that should have taken less than an hour, but wasted my whole day. Further, the axle they put on failed within one year, necessitang I replace it myself (no way I was ever going to let them touch my vehicle again) . When I did so, I found they had overtightened a couple of the lugnuts so much, I had to remove them with a torch and chisel. In brief, this repair shop will waste your time, rip you off, and destroy your vehicle. Since replacing the axle myself to correct their butchery, I have had no problems with it 50,000 miles later. Repeat, this shop will rip you off and destroy your vehicle. This is the type of shop you hear rip-off horror stories about. Never, never, let them touch your vehicle. read more

I didnt have the special 5 dollar tool to release a pin for my spare tire under 2007 Nissan armada. This kid tells me he can't do it. Having him tow it to ex girlfriends he talks to her on phone, we agree she can give him my credit card there. He also told her no cash discount as he pocketed it. So He couldn't wait for a friend 10 mins before he went south to take my dog. Then when he arrives at my friends tells her he can't run my credit card cause it cause I'm not there...to top his customer service he leaves 2 of my windows all way down leather seats subs under the seats..if your the kid tow guy you know where I live. Smells like water damage electronics fried.I called bills towing and some associate says "our procedure" and he won't leave message for manager or give me his name...clowns. read more

On Friday 6/2/2023 my vehicle broke down on High way 51. My grandfather and I were googleing different nearest tow company. Bills Towing was the closest. We called them, was told it would be an hr to an hr and a half before they could pick up my vehicle. I called later that afternoon to check in and see if they were able to get to my vehicle, they got it with no issues. I waited over the weekend and called Sunday @ 1pm to see if they were able to figure out what was wrong with it. I was told they were going to try and get to it monday (6/5/2023) but if they couldnt they would get to it Tuesday (6/6/2023) for sure. I called back Monday afternoon @2pm and the guy told me they had it in the garage on the ramp and are getting it looked at and he would call me back later that day and let me know what was going on, i said thank you and waited. I did not recieve a call so i called back @4:45 and was told they were still writing everything up and I would get a call in the morning. ******I'm not usually a person who calls alot but I work in Madison and my fiancee works in wycena, so having 1 vehicle is alittle stressful, I rely on my vehicle alot.*** I called Tuesday (today) @9:30ish and the lady I spoke to didn't have anything from the garage about my vehicle. Missed a call at 11:55 (my fault I was working) and called them back at 12:47 and was told they suspected it was the heater core, but wouldn't know for sure until they got into disassembling it, and that they were 4 to 5 weeks out until they could get to it. And that they were calling to see where I wanted it towed to so it can get fixed. I'm dissatisfied with the lack of communication, as a customer I need a company to be straight and upfront with me about waite times, and with what's going on with my vehicle, i felt i was kept in the dark and wasnt being told the exact truth. If they didn't have time, i wish they would have told me when I first called on Friday. My grandfather and i had my vehicle towed to another garage. After paying Bout 250.00 for services. read more

I hit a pothole on I-90 and had a flat in a very dangerous spot. I've changed many flats before, but when the wrench didn't fit the lugs, I was stuck needing help. AmFam roadside assistance sent out Tim from Bill's. In a potentially dangerous situation, Bill's towing was there in a flash. Quick to respond and clear communication so I knew when to expect him. Reading reviews that other people had the same situation happen to their car and the same excellent service from Bill's Towing does NOT surprise me at all! My tire blew out on 94. I was terrified on a narrow shoulder. Why am I bothering with a yelp review? because Bill's towing got there asap and was able to get me a new tire at their shop in a timely way. Saw these guys in my neighborhood recently and observed them assisting a customer with a stranded vehicle. They were extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable in performing their work. One young gentleman opened the car door for the woman so she could get into the vehicle. They also offered to return if they were still having issues with the car. We had a major issue with our travel trailer while driving home from Madison. We happened to exit right next to Bill's, which turned out to be the fortunate part of our unfortunate event. The team at Bill's helped us immediately. They were very friendly, honest, and performed high quality work. The waiting room was very pleasant, with toys for kids and plenty of reading material. There is very little communication at this establishment. My car was there for almost a week and not once did anyone initiate a call with me about the status of my vehicle. Each day I would call, sometimes multiple times a day, to get answers about my vehicle and I would be lucky if someone knew what was going on without having to transferring me to someone else to explain myself all over again. I would save yourself the hassle and not even bother contacted this facility. They also overcharge on everything. read more

Rip off. Truckers beware!!! We were charged $1000 for tow and unhook and then was told they will not charge storage fees if we pay the $1,000. When we came to get the truck they added additional $500 plus for storage! The tow was less than 15 miles. Says they are open 24 hours but when was ask to come on a Saturday or Sunday we were told they're' not open????? REALLY??? you towed us on a weekend!!!!!! They will tow and leave it there and hold you hostage until they open. Not cool, and not how you treat truckers especially when its already stressful enough when we have to deliver a load on Monday and we cant get our truck until they re-open on Monday!!!! Why put open 24 hours when really its only open Monday thru Friday!!!!!!!! $1,500 for 15 miles of towing and for keeping our truck a few days!! I wish our load pay us that rate!! I don't usually write reviews even if I have had an unpleasant experience, however if I could give Bills towing a negative 5 stars I would in a heartbeat. My wife's car broke down on the way to the airport a mile away from Bills towing in Lodi/Arlington. They were the first place that I called and gave me a very reasonable estimate so I decided to go with them and not continue to price shop. we returned from our vacation to a bill that was almost 4 times higher than the estimate given was. By the way I understand that an estimate is just that, but should also be reasonably close to the final bill. To be fair part of the bill was to diagnose the issue with why the vehicle broke down. Another part of that story is the estimate for the repair!!!!! I should have just had my mechanic come all of the way from Wisconsin Rapids to get it. His cost to fix the front differential was 3 times cheaper. In my opinion this business recognizes when people are out of options and has no issues taking them for all that they are worth, thinking that they will just pay. long story short they took a small portion off of the bill which still wasn't even close to the estimate amount.
