We were visiting the area and went with a group of friends. If you are familiar with supper clubs, this restaurant gives off that vibe without technically be considered a supper club. While I was disappointed in my drink from the bar, my meal made up for the drink. I'd definitely give it another shot when I return to the area. Before we went, we were advised of the bartender being particular (think the soup Nazi on Seinfeld). While I appreciated the act of muddling the old fashioned drinks, I didn't appreciate my order being incorrect. Not wanting to upset the apple cart, I drank my old fashioned (but didn't order a second). Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. She knew a couple people from our part and addressed them several times by name (nice touch). I ordered a ribeye with a side order of shrimp. The steak was cooked properly and was very tasty. The shrimp were also very good. My dining partner enjoyed their fried chicken dinner. We not only enjoyed the meals, we felt the price was reasonable. I probably let my experience at the bar affect me more than I should have; however, first impressions do make a difference. read more

The food is excellent. I have found that in person dining on weekends and especially holidays to be really unpleasant because of the wait (not infrequently greater than an hour) and the frequency with which items tend to run out. It got to be so bad, we were going to stop going. But then there's the food. The blue gill fish fry on Fridays is the best I've ever had. Their soups are always good. The drinks are good too. Excellent old fashioneds that are decently priced. So what to do when the wait and service is subpar and you don't want to give up a great meal? Order carry out. Arrive a little early and have an Old Fashioned and go home. We've done this that past few times and between not being aggravated and still getting our fix we've come to love Fridays up north. read more

What a treasure! This Pub & Eatery is super friendly and is in no way just a tavern with food. They know how to mix cocktails to excellence! A nice place to stop and have a great meal with a friendly staff and good prices. The atmosphere is rustic and has a bar/dinner joint kinda vibe. It's right on the snowmobile trails which is great. I think it is extremely unprofessional and very rude to ask customers to leave the table as soon as the plates are removed because they need to seat someone else. This is the second time this has happened to us. We were told by the owner that he would be happy to serve us(4 people) out in the bar but we needed to get up. We should have asked him if he could guarantee us 4 seats out there?? Probably not! Maybe they should use all of the tables in the place instead of only 7 or 8. It really is a joke!! Stopped by 7/5/19, had reservations for a party of 14 for 6:30. Got there about 6:10, the place was standing room only. Weren't seated until about 7:10. We stood about the bar area with our drinks, jostling with other patrons. Server took our food orders in bar area. That didn't help my mood as I was still a bit achy from my previous day's 10 hr drive to UPNORTH. The food was overall pretty good--some loved the prime beef, reuben sandwhich, corn dogs and chicken tenders. But this is my review. I love a good fish fry and I love perch, so I ordered the deep fried perch dinner with veggies and clam chowder. The veggies were kind of tasteless, like microwaved right out of frozen package. The chowder was tasty but the clam bits were very tough. The perch was passable, but I have had much better in other local restaurants. This place comes off my list of restaurants to satisfy my passion for a good WI perch fish fry. Will continue to eat here on occasion as other family members enjoy it. Oh yeah, our server was overwhelmed but was friendly and pleasant. Some got drinks with meal, some didn't. read more

We have a cabin nearby and found Billy Timbers online - thankfully! It is hard to get a good meal in the area but we were pleasantly surprised with our meals. The smothered pork sandwich is fantastic - moist and plenty of mushrooms and onions. My dad had the ribs and they were cooked to perfection. I had the fish fry the last time I visited and I think they must have been reheated as they were soggy. I'm going to try again next visit as we went later at nigh and I have heard it is really goodt. Also one of the better beer selections if you want something more than a cheap domestic. Definitely worth the trip. read more

Combo platter appetizer was perfect. Yummy cheese curds and amazing fried cauliflower. Got a bit of every appetizer to choose from at a great price! The bartender was very friendly with us and made good drinks, any of the previous reviews were more than likely rude customers cause the guy appears to not take any of your s***. Slim picking on a good restuarant in this area. Billy Timbers is probably one of the best. The food has been good every time we visit. The biulding itself needs some work. The siding has been torn down and never replaced for years. You wouldn't think it was open if you didn't see other cars in the parking lot. read more

We've been eating at this place for years and never leave disappointed. We usually go on Friday nights for the Bluegills, they are perfect in size and portion. The fillets have a very light breading and deep fried to perfection. The cocktails are always well poured and the staff has always been very friendly. Very good value and amazing food. read more

Overall a great place where you would not expect it. Blue gill fish fry is great, as are the prime timber, and tender timber sandwiches. Deep fried cheese curds are always a treat. This place is making money for a reason. All the food they serve is excellent for a Northwoods pub. From the fresh, Friday night fish fry, to the take-home pizza, to their mixed drinks, Bill T's does not disappoint. I docked a star because they are many times understaffed on busy nights, and they waste too much space in the bar area with video game machines that nobody is playing. They could seat many more people if they took those out and added more tables. read more

I live in Elcho, wi. During the week it is a great place to eat but on Friday beware they will make you sit at the bar and drink. This is true even if they the have open tables. Too bad as their food is good but I don't want to be drunk. I want to enjoy my meal. read more

I eat here at least once a year when in the area. The food and portions have always been very good. Didn't care for the perch cooked in some wine sauce last time I was there, but that wasn't their fault--I just had to learn that while I love perch, I don't like sweet fish. Everybody else I was with loved their meals. Will definitely return. read more
