So happy to find this diner right in Bethlehem. Went to brunch on a Saturday late morning (11:15) for a party of two and was seated right away. Everything on the menu looked so amazing and definitely well priced. It took me and my friend a while to figure out what we both wanted! Quick and great service considering how crowded it got over the time spent there. There is parallel parking available along the streets. Highly recommend the pulled pork benedict, it filled me up till dinner! Can't wait to try other things on their menu. read more

Good place that we go to at least once a month. My only criticism is that this location needs better kitchen ventilation. Maybe when the front door opens it pulls air from the kitchen window through the dining room. Our clothes always end up smelling like we were standing right over the stove, kind of like a tailgate party smell. Not the worst thing. Edit: You don't notice this while enjoying the good food. My husband used to frequent this place 20 years ago when he worked nearby so we were excited to return. Two friends joined us. It was a pleasant sunny morning, after a long heat wave. It had rained but the outside furniture was almost dry. It was cold in the restaurant so we told the hostess we'd be outside. She said, "We weren't going to have outside seating because of the rain." I said that we didn't mind if the chairs were a little wet. We'd just wipe them off. So we all sat down and drew up two extra chairs from a nearby outdoor table. Two minutes later a different lady (manager?) came out and greeted us with, "No, no, no, no, no. We aren't doing outdoor seating. We don't have the bandwidth." Then she put the chairs away right in front of us. She explained that we weren't supposed to move the chairs and needed to keep the sidewalk free for strollers and wheelchairs. I wish I had a photo of the empty street and sidewalk. It was 9:30 on a Friday morning. If we hadn't parked so far away, we'd have hopped into our cars and left. Instead we went inside and sat in a room that was just as far away from the serving station as the outdoor space was (so I guess they had the bandwidth for that) and made the best of it. Billy's sits in a rough end of Bethlehem, PA. It's been around for a while, and it's primary claim to fame is that Billy is related to Chris Angel the magician. There were five of us there on a Sunday afternoon. The place is not very large, but it was fairly empty because of the time of day. When you enter, you are greeted by autographed pictures of all of the celebrities that have been there. Some, it seems, may just be publicity photos giving the impression that they were there. Billy also seems to have a thing for Miss Pennsylvania as many different ones are posted around the seating area. There are also several posters and photo of Chris Angel either performing or with Billy. Billy was there - at the counter talking to people, taking money at the register. I always like it when the owner is visible. It makes one think they are proud of what they've built. Restaurants are about food. Food was blah. I had a hamburger with fries - neither were memorable. Everyone at our table felt about the same way. It was an experience seeing a new place. I don't get out that way often. When I do, there are lots of other good restaurants in Bethlehem to try out. read more

Found this restaurant when looking for breakfast/brunch in the Bethlehem neighborhood. The fresh squeezed orange juice was SO good and the macaroni and cheese was good, as well. We ordered plain pancakes which was not on the menu but unfortunately they were burnt and chewy. With that said our server was still quite pleasant and checked in with us. While the meal did take some time to come out, unfortunately it didn't feel worth it. When checked out we were asked how everything was (no smile), I mentioned the pancakes being burnt and the cashier just stared at me and told me the price to which I gave my payment. I asked if she was just asking and she replied "yeah, we are supposed to". I was hoping it would be a bit more heartfelt but oh well, she DID do her job read more

Went here for breakfast after reading U Yelppers. Place is small, staff is great. I had Huevos Rancheros which looked small but filled me up fine. Coffee was good & strong, a big plus. My SO had a veggie omelet which she like very much. One of the best LV diners Foh sure, but in truth thats not saying much since almost all that I've been to SUCK Balls, this place holds up to any great NY/NJ diner. Only complaint was my homefries were not cooked to my liking & had too much butter and wifes toast was barely toasted. I like both cooked well done and or crispy, but in true I didn't realize mine came w/ homefries & I should have sent them back, as I'm sure they would have taken care of it. When I heard that Criss Angel's cousin runs a diner near my boyfriend's place... and that it was pretty good... I had to go. Billy's is definitely not your ordinary diner... the menu here is far from anything I've ever seen. Some things are so far out I wouldn't be able to give them a try! Namely the super sweet pancakes on the menu, but that's just me. I like the savory stuff. I got the salmon benedict. Salty smoked salmon combined with a rich and hearty eggs benedict... say no more! This was a delicious meal with good portions. I only wish the homefries had been seasoned more; I left a good mound of those on my plate. It was a busy morning on an icy day, but the wait wasn't bad and the service was good. Not much else to say! read more

Going all the way to 5 stars after spending time at 4 and then 3. Been back monthly for breakfast meetings have noticed a steady increase in quality and service. I think it's because Mrs. Billy has been around when I'm there. Specials menu is back to its creative highs whether you want sweet or savory. Today I had the Paradisio (spelling?) Benedict with poached eggs chorizo shrimp and a spicy chili sauce. Delicious. I had switched back to just eggs, bacon and hash browns so it was nice to see inventive specials again. But they are all kicked up an notch with the addition of other ingredients. For example, I had the Berry Krunch French Toast. It was 3 pieces of French Toast (on from what I could tell was French Bread) covered with strawberries and the best granola I've had in a long time. The huevos rancheros were also delicious. There were many items on the menu that I wanted to try! As an out-of-towner, I could tell that this place was quite the neighborhood place. I know many love Billy's however so much restriction when you are a guest. No ice for water, no lemon for water, cannot split checks amongst 2 tables.....for what they charge if a customer wants a glass of water with lemon they should be able to request it. The waitress said it's a health hazard for ice and lemon to be placed in the water....if it is I would have been dead a long time ago. Is there no ice and lemon in iced tea then? If you have a family, this is NOT a family friendly establishment. From the second we walked in the door, the staff appeared annoyed we needed a high chair and was annoyed we had a baby in a stroller (she was sleeping). They rolled their eyes at each other (several times!) sat us and then came back and rudely told me I could not have a stroller. We ended up leaving as I've never been to an establishment that appears to be insulted and so inconvenienced by bringing a family. I went out to eat with my family and we walked inside waiting a to be seat and asked if there were tables to sit outside(which there were 3 tables open with people being served) which is when Rebecca (a so called "manager " ) came and started treating us like we were nothing over our race (Hispanic) all we were asking was why couldn't she split us up with the two tables that were outside. Which we understood but the way she was talking was very disrespectful and demanding. After we got seated and ate we seen miss Rebecca again and she gave us a smirk so I turned around and told her the way she treated us was very unprofessional and ignorant which then leaded to her saying we were never welcome there again. I've gone to Billy's with my family for years and I've never had an interaction with any worker like this. I spent almost $200 and for her to tell me I wasn't welcome there clearly shows she has no self respect for herself and for that business. I've liked this place before, but our dining experience this morning was sub-par. We waited more than an hour for a table after being told 30 min, then the list of irritating problems began: 1. Ordered oj - never came. 2. Ordered daily special- cannoli crunch- came out as a regular item menu- berry crunch.I sent it back and was told that it was correct. I looked at the specials menu on the way out- the order def came out wrong, and I pad the special price. 3. Chili fries came out stone cold- had to be reheated. 4. Had Sunday late breakfast here. Very crowded but no wait, great service, great atmosphere with a lot of interesting artifacts. Food was perfect. I got the Pano Omelette with side of greens instead of home fries and my husband had a western omelette with home fries. Both were cooked perfectly (nothing turns my stomach more at breakfast than a big, thick, overcooked, browned omelette). Just the right amount of cheese and sour cream not a big messy slopfest. The food here is great but the coffee is weak. Not much different than browned water. If you want to be Allentown's premiere breakfast/brunch place, you're going to need to up your game on the coffee. I asked the waitress if they could make a stronger cup and she said no "that's our coffee" and offered to bring espresso. Food is essential but the core of a good breakfast place is the coffee. Was tough to choose a place for lunch, considering the wealth of options in Bethlehem, but oh, am I committed to eating my way through all of them ;) During this visit, had a turkey sandwich with fries, the custom dip, and chai latte. Oh my was the sandwich good. The bread was grilled to a perfect crisp. The turkey, beautifully shredded and fresh. I wanted to take the chai latte home and sleep with it. The only thing I didn't get was the custom dip - it was underwhelming and a little on the watery side, but didn't take away from my experience. The salad itself was great however, they microwaved the chicken instead of cooking it on the stove. The chickens texture was similar to those you would find in a Tyson freezer chicken bag. The salad was $10.99. Would not recommend. The others are our table had better expierences with their food. Would try something else next time. read more

I will start out by saying as you step in the door the ambiance is dreadful.. the choice of music is depressing and the employee's are either playing zombies for halloween or their personalities are that cold!! We found this spot driving home from the Poconos after a very eventful trip. From the second we walked in the door we were greeted by the owner and other servers. They got us seated really quickly. My husband and I both ordered the Caramel Latte- it was THE BEST. My husband is kind of a coffee snob and he hasn't stopped talking about his latte. It was really hot and not overly sweet. We both ordered the Sriracha Bowl which was amazing. To add to it, we split the fluffiest chocolate chip pancakes. Also, if you're a Schitts Creek fan our server reminded me of Twyla- if you know, you know. This place is a real winner! read more

Headed here after a heavy night of drinking and poker to refill the tank. This is your classic old-school diner and most of the food was really good. Someone in our party got the French toast and it looked incredible. I had the Breakfast Quesadilla with extra salsa and it was really good, but slightly smaller than I was expecting. I sometimes like to order fries with gravy at breakfast but they told us that they didn't make any french fries before 11 o'clock and this was disappointing.
