    Turkey dinner.
    Eric W.

The Bethlehem Diner is located off the airport exit, directly across from the Valley Plaza. It's located in the same complex as the Econo Lodge and Denny's. Parking shouldn't be an issue. Interior has plenty of seating and when you walk in, cakes are in the rotating display. Menu is surprisingly large and they serve all day breakfast. I ordered the Turkey dinner that came with the salad bar and my friend ordered a hamburger and fries. Salad bar was fresh, and offered soup options, but I would not order it as a standalone option. My Turkey dinner was fine, but I found the portion to be smaller than expected. Hamburger and fries looked good, but the chocolate cake ordered for desert was dry. The Bethlehem Diner prices are not the cheapest. Our service was good, the diner is clean, but overall, I'm not sure I'll be returning here on future trips to the Valley.

Proof that we were there at this awful Diner!

This place is full of male dominated, highly aggressive staff; especially the short, foul mouthed manager who assaulted me several times and threatened calling the police after we bought breakfast food there and I needed to change my clothes in the men's bathroom! He must of assumed that I was a vagrant or something, IDK...??? We're traveling across country from AZ to CT and got in late yesterday at the Best Western Hotel down the street and had many problems there w/ poor maintenance of our room, and very rude management staff that gave us a hard time on several occasions causing us to lose several more hours of sleep needlessly!!! Consequently, we could not rest up properly and also we were refused a late check out; setting up the next problem @this Diner, as I had only minutes to pack up our car, missing breakfast at the Hotel, etc...!!! So I had to change at this Diner, and had the rudest, meanest, vulgar ornery manager accost me, treating my wife and I like "white trash," all because I had to get changed! - Therefore, we Rate this place w/ a NEGATIVE 5 STARS PERIOD! - jbm

Bethlehem Diner is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day from 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM. You can find this restaurant off of Catasauqua Rd. in Allentown. I haven't been here in over a decade, but my visit was exactly what I expected; decent diner food and friendly service. There is no delivery but you can order online for takeout. This is one of those instances where you should not judge a book by its cover. This place doesn't look like much from the outside. Kind of tired and nondescript. It's next to a hotel though so if you happen to be staying there, you can walk here easily. Service is excellent. Salad bar is very fresh and the best I've ever seen. Food was cooked well. Prices are also very reasonable compared to many other diners. I've been a little down on diners in the last few years due to high costs and bad service. But this place bucks the trend. It's a must visit for anyone looking for great food in the area.

1.5 Star, would not recommend. The only semi-good thing about the whole meal was the soup/salad bar, and it wasn't even great. We got there at 8pm, got seated right away. We ordered a Fried Seafood Combo plate, Meatloaf, Pork Chop, and Chicken Fingers Basket. The fried seafood was obviously fried in old, dark oil- the shrimp, scallops, and fish were all hardened, extra dark, and basically had no flavor. The breaded pork chop was also super dark and dry. The meatloaf was crusty , as if it's been sitting for days and put in the microwave to be reheated. The baked potato came with no scallions and bacon. All of the "hot" food tasted bland, dry, overcooked. Would not recommend unless you're aiming for the nostalgia vibe- their waiters, cash register, dessert stand are definitely legit diner style.

    Sunday small business.

Food was great and service was too. And the dessert, well, just awesome. If you have never eaten here it's worth the visit. Enjoy!

The smell of fresh coffee is everywhere and a positive vibe is present. We sat down quickly in the farthest booth, our preference. I had a nice view of the patrons, the street, and the kitchen. I noticed the amount of dessert on the counter, and later learned they were made in house, and if I am not wrong, this place is known for their desserts. We ordered a pretty standard diner breakfast and everything was perfect. As usual, and not to say that I am complicated, I had my order customized, and the server graciously accommodated me. After all, great service means a bigger tip. We were very satisfied. I got to visit a true diner, have a good meal, get a feel of the community, and the chance to help that community with my business. After all, diners, just like breweries, are traditionally American institutions for community exchange, much like the town's inn or the pub, if we were in the British lands.

I ordered an omelette, and my son had the eggs Benedict. Both dishes came out looking great, and the coffee was also surprisingly good. It had that fresh, smooth flavor that's hard to find at most breakfast spots. My omelette was a bit on the mild side, not heavily seasoned, but I actually prefer it that way. It might feel a little too bland for someone who likes bolder flavors, though. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast and a great way to start the day. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Some things were good, others were disappointing. I couldn't decide between the breakfast tacos and the G145 egg sandwich, so I got both. This was the first time I ever ordered breakfast tacos so I'm glad they were delicious! They were piled high with chorizo, scrambled eggs, tater tots, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and sour cream. The G145 egg sandwich consists of two eggs, bacon, & American cheese on a brioche bun. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the roll was soft and flavorful. My dad ordered a strip steak and eggs. He said, "it was okay, it's kind of tough". A medium rare steak should never be tough. My mom ordered two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast. She enjoyed the eggs and toast, but said the potatoes were awful. I had some with my sandwich and I have to agree with her. They were bland and dry. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good, but the service was substandard. Our server was super unattentive. Eating and socializing behind the bar was more of a priority than checking on her tables. I was still generous enough to tip 20%. Pickup and delivery are both available. At first it was a little rough and then it became outstanding for a while. And then it started to slip again. Haven't been back since it started to slip. Freshness and good ingredients are very important. It seemed like the ingredients were slipping the last time we were there. We have not been back. There's a lot of good restaurants in this area that don't slip. So we stick with our favorites for now but, we do like to try new things. Most of the time the service is spot on and really nice. Such a shame to have all those good things in place and not pay attention to the most important detail. Food quality is where it starts. If you don't do this correctly and use subpar raw ingredients down to every detail, you're wasting all the hard earned resources that you have to work with. It's a desperate move, not a move that is going to lead to a long term successful business of any kind. The key is sticking to quality and find a way to keep going with those good ingredients. Lower prices can jumpstart the business again. And, if you're fortunate enough to get your customers back and your business grows again, lower your prices just a little to show your appreciation for your customers. Sincere good will is what you want and what you need to spread. Don't allow greed to return even in difficult times if they should return. And in regards to ambiance, we found it to be nice but, on occasion the shades weren't blocking the sun well enough. Small, yet important detail. Clean restrooms are also very important. I understand that you can't be everywhere at once but, like a security guard, you can do a run from station to station or restroom or freezer to check that everything is all good. I used to work in a kitchen for a few years. I loved the first one but, the second one had some people that I couldn't work around. Two entirely different experiences. The second one drove me back to pursuing my music career again and I am still at it. I will be playing at The Water Lantern Festival on July 18th at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown. My set is at 8 pm. And try not to look sad. I understand it's not going to be easy. Good things don't come easy is a saying that I heard a long time ago and I understand it from experience. And I can testify that it worked for me.
