Very disappointing. We drove 25 minutes out of the way in a storm for a truck stop. We were told this new location was significantly better than the small Opelousas location. It was bigger and had more seating. The food was ok. Burgers were added. We had several boudin options. Please see the pictures. The crackling we were told to try by a relative. I asked for a few and ended up with a small bag at 23 dollars a pound. What a ripoff. Had no idea of the cost. We tried a few and threw out the rest. Yuk fried fat that can crack your teeth.

If you're looking for the freshest, meatiest and best seasoned cracklins, Billy's is a MUST! We've tried cracklins at every place up and down 190 and all around Scott. None of them compare to Billy's. It's no so see their parking lot is always full. You know the place is good when you reroute your 12 hour drive just to stop here. If you like spicy then go for the boudin balls, or egg rolls, with pepper Jack cheese.

Didn't look like much other than a gas station but a local recommended I come here for the best boudin. Shop including restrooms were clean. Huge selection of fresh meats - I got fresh boudin sausage, plus pork skins (spicy, fresh and so good!), and the best fried chicken I have had in a long time! Staff was super friendly too - I would definitely stop again!

Billy's is another reason to avoid the gridlock that is I-10 and travel US 190. I am beginning to hate driving through Louisiana. I could write a review detailing why I hate each section of interstate but I will save that for another review. The crux of the issue is traffic and I-10 anywhere near BR has plenty of it. So sometimes I avoid I-10 as much as possible and take 190. This was one of those times. Picture this; you're cruising along at the posted speed limit (don't speed here bro), and voices from the back say they have to pee. Seriously? We have been on the road about an hour and we already need to stop. I guess my dad was right when he told me one day I would be paid back for my randoness as a kid. Anyway, I listened and stopped. Billy's is well known in Acadiana for their long lines and pepper jack boudin balls (more on that later). Little did I know they have a store on 190 and it looks new, has lots of gas pumps, and clean bathrooms. That's a win/win/win right there. What Billy's also has is food, and what is a gas station stop without some gas station food? I decided I wanted some cracklins and pepper jack boudin balls. I've tried their boudin balls several times before and I may be the only person in america who doesn't like them. I love pepper jack cheese. I love boudin. Combine the two and you would think it would be a one way ticket to flavortown. You would be wrong. I think it is the act of frying them that messes them all up. Again, everyone loves them, but come on broski, boudin shouldn't be fried. The cracklins however, were crack a lackin. Sure there were some extra crunchy pieces I didn't like, but most had that soft piece of pork with the nicely seasoned crunch of fried skin. Hell yes. If you can't trace your DNA story to the Acadians you might not be able to handle this. Maybe stick with the fried boudin instead. But if you like cracklin, get you some. Still don't think you should stop here? Take a look at the map of I-10 right now. It should be a giant red line since it is CLOSED.

If you like boudin, MAKE the detour to Billy's. Yes, you will risk getting a speeding ticket in Krotz Springs, but you will have hot & fresh delicious boudin in hand and it will be worth it, right? You can get crawfish pies, packaged sausage, and lots of other items in their drive-thru locations.

Everytime i come through this area i HAVE to stop by this place. The chicken cracklin are the best cracklins, but they all are good. I posted a picture of every kind of boudin ball they had cause i had to get one of each. I have to keep track of everything i get so i make sure i try some of everything.

Billy's used to have the best boudin in the area. In the past year or so the quality seems to have declined quite a bit. It's still good, just not great. I hate leaving them a mediocre review, but it is what it is. The lines are ridiculously long and they move very slowly. I will say the boudin balls are still pretty dang awesome! If you don't mind long lines that move painfully slow, it's not a bad place.

Good food, clean store. Very rude staff behind the food counter. Food is worth the stop.

Still my favorite place to eat. I eat here at least 3 times a week. At least. Don't judge me. It's…read morethe same price as buying groceries. They just save me time and a mess to clean. service is always great. Food is fantastic.

Stay clear of this place! I don't foresee them staying in business very long at all after what I…read morehave seen and heard from my fellow local residents. One afternoon, I was passing by this place, but I didn't have time to stop in and check it out. A day or two later, I went online and began to look up reviews. The reviews that I found were mixed, which sort of surprised me, because the things I had heard from a couple of my fellow local residence, were not very positive to say the least. But we kind of thought maybe that was due to the fact that the restaurant was fairly new, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I always like to support local businesses. A few days later, I passed by the restaurant around 5:30 to 6, which should have been peak dinner hour. I was the only one in the restaurant. They do not have any signage showing their restaurant items, nor do they have any standard restaurant menu's. There was a middle aged gentleman, sitting at one of the tables, looking at his phone, and I realized he was probably the owner, or at least one of the owners. He looked like he did not even want to get up to serve me. I decided then and there I was not going to order, but I did want to check things out. I asked him about menus and he said all he had was two paper printed menu items, without the prices, taped down to the countertop! Once again, no prices were listed! On items that were unavailable, having been either sold out, or never even cooked that particular day, there was actually a black mark through that item. I asked him if he had a copy of the menu that he could give me and a couple of extras for some neighbors. I was going to ask him if he had one that included the prices, but before I could say anything, he rudely said that they don't have any copies. I was going to ask him if I could take a photo of the items, but then I figured what good would that do? If the prices were not even listed, and the same items were not available each day. Also, I have been at restaurants where I have asked for a takeout menu, and they said they didn't have one, but would be glad to either print one out, or make a copy to give me. But I have never been at a restaurant that did not include any prices! I actually think this is the first time I have ever done a review on a restaurant without having actually eaten at the restaurant. But I felt strongly that people needed to be warned before they make a drive unnecessarily. I thought that the fact that there were no customers at a time that should have been peak dinner hours, should have been a red flag to begin with.
