Awww Billy's Boudin! The reason I stop on trips to Opelousas! The reason my mouth craves pepper-jack stuffed boudin balls, cracklins and smoked boudin links. Right off the highway in an unassuming old gas station is some of the best boudin in Louisiana! Walk in right up to the counter and tell em how much you want. The service is fast and the boudin is spicy, full of meat and fresh. I will always stop in whenever I get a chance!

Found this gem on YELP after taking a wrong turn. They're working on a bigger building, but the tiny heat lamp counter in the gas station contains pure cajun heaven. The pepperjeck stuffed Boudin balls are the perfect combination of deep fried crispy outside, spicy sausage, and gooey cheesy goodness. Boudin pepperjack roll ups were super flavorful as well. Crawfish pie had airy, flakey crust, but the filling wasn't my preference. Must be an acquired taste. Highly Recommend!!!

IT MAY LOOK AN EXCISED NUTRIA BRAIN but the jalapeño cream cheese stuffed and very spicy boudin ball at Billys is among our best!

IT MAY LOOK LIKE AN EXCISED NUTRIA BRAIN ...but, If you want some of the tastiest, beefiest, cream cheesiest, and spicy-hot boudin balls in Cajun-Country do a uey to Billy's, from east bound Airline Highway at Krotz Springs across form the Exxon. One huge ball is almost a meal in itself and just $1.99! IT'S THE MINI MART NOT THE DINER!!! And heed the large "don't block the pumps signs " even though there aren't gas pumps at Billy's anymore.

    Look for the sign!

Wow! This place was a true find. Thanks Yelp community for getting this place on the map. Don't be put off by the fact that this place is in the back of gas station. The place has been around a while, but the place is clean and the fried food can't be beat. We ordered a small bag of cracklin, just enough for a small snack, and man, was it delicious. Ordered the fried corn and threw a little Tony cacheres on it ---fried magic. My favorite was the chicken pistolette (fried, of course) and the boudin balls were definitely the biggest on the block ---maybe in Louisiana. Go with an appetite because this place will knock your Cajun socks off.

This has got to be the most amazing place to get HUGE boudin balls. They are delicious. My friend told me about this place so the 1st chance I got, I had my husband to stop there so I could try them. So not disappointed! Awesome food! Dallas, Texas

We tried the cracklins and the boudin balls, pepper jack filled. The cracklins were so/so. I think maybe they'd been under the heating lamp too long. One of the several I tried was amazing, but the rest were dried out and hard to chew. However, the boudin balls were AMAZING!!! OMG were those things tasty! Next time we are down visiting family we will definitely stop in.

My favorite was the Boudin Pepperjack Ball!

Loved the Boudin, Regular Boudin Ball and Boudin pepper jack Taco. But my favorite was the Pepperjack Boudin ball with a cheese filling! The gas station has all the Boudin but there is a connected restaurant on the right side. Didn't eat there but looked good.

Stopping here because my brother in law says this is the spot for some boudin and other Cajun stuff. First time having boudin balls and they are delicious. Make sure you know what you want because the line can get long quick. Was our first time and people didn't look too happy because of our delay trying to figure out what to get. Also picked up some frozen boudin to have at home. Good prices as well.

The best boudin in Louisiana is located in this country back woods gas station! Lol! I don't ever recall people coming here for gas but the line for hot and fresh boudin is always loooong! Billy's service all types of balls with cheese, jalapeño or both. Spring roll or wraps.

The young lady that helped me encouraged me to try something new while grabbing my usual which consist of their shrimp and crawfish boudin and several pounds of cracklings (no judgement!) She mentioned a new "red bean and rice boudin." While I didn't choose to try it, I have no doubt it will be just as great as everything else they make. Of course I needed the ladies room. Clean as always. "This place is worth every calorie, stop in! "

I ordered a hamburger steak and was told it takes 20 min, so I ordered a small burger no cheese. We ended up waiting 30 min, burger had cheese, and it was stone cold. I brought it back to the counter and ended up waiting another 20 minutes for hot food. The worst thing, though, is the attitude and demeanor of the cashiers. Most have scowls on their face, and it gets worse when food is returned. So, so rude. Their attitude, tone, and eye rolls were unacceptable. There were two nice people behind the counter, a blonde lady with a ponytail and a headset and a black lady. Grateful for them. The rest, though, really need attitude adjustment. Sorry, Billy's. We won't be back.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

One afternoon, I was passing by this place, but I didn't have time to stop in and check it out. A day or two later, I went online and began to look up reviews. The reviews that I found were mixed, which sort of surprised me, because the things I had heard from a couple of my fellow local residence, were not very positive to say the least. But we kind of thought maybe that was due to the fact that the restaurant was fairly new, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I always like to support local businesses. A few days later, I passed by the restaurant around 5:30 to 6, which should have been peak dinner hour. I was the only one in the restaurant. They do not have any signage showing their restaurant items, nor do they have any standard restaurant menu's. There was a middle aged gentleman, sitting at one of the tables, looking at his phone, and I realized he was probably the owner, or at least one of the owners. He looked like he did not even want to get up to serve me. I decided then and there I was not going to order, but I did want to check things out. I asked him about menus and he said all he had was two paper printed menu items, without the prices, taped down to the countertop! Once again, no prices were listed! On items that were unavailable, having been either sold out, or never even cooked that particular day, there was actually a black mark through that item. I asked him if he had a copy of the menu that he could give me and a couple of extras for some neighbors. I was going to ask him if he had one that included the prices, but before I could say anything, he rudely said that they don't have any copies. I was going to ask him if I could take a photo of the items, but then I figured what good would that do? If the prices were not even listed, and the same items were not available each day. Also, I have been at restaurants where I have asked for a takeout menu, and they said they didn't have one, but would be glad to either print one out, or make a copy to give me. But I have never been at a restaurant that did not include any prices! I actually think this is the first time I have ever done a review on a restaurant without having actually eaten at the restaurant. But I felt strongly that people needed to be warned before they make a drive unnecessarily. I thought that the fact that there were no customers at a time that should have been peak dinner hours, should have been a red flag to begin with.
