Whether it's a check engine light, brake problems or just an annual inspection. WAY honest, reasonably priced, and generally, just good guys. You get personalized service and if something isn't quite right, (which in my case has been rare, but stuff happens), they go the extra mile to make it right. Have a scheduled inspection at 10:00, I arrive, go into the office and let them know I'm here. Over the next 15 minutes all the workers just peak around the corner and stare at my truck. Not a single person actually does what they're supposed to do. I parked exactly where they told me to. Never going here again, this has happened before! read more

My alternator went out on 10/5, barely any charge in the battery, called 2 other garages first, both booked. They wouldn't even let me put my car on the lot until they could get to it! (There was not enough charge in the battery to get the car back to South Nags Head, let alone back to Kill Devil again) Called Billy's, he said he couldn't get to it until the 7th, to bring it to him. He looked at it, ordered the alternator from 2 1/2 hours away, called Thursday morning to pick up my car!!! Very nice man, highly recommend!!! read more

WARNING!! Good luck getting a repaired vehicle back in 2-3 weeks! Good luck getting your call(s) answered after you've left your sick vehicle there for repairs. So, then you must get a ride over there to inquire about your vehicle, which may or may not be anywhere on the property! .... Twice! Good luck getting a mechanic who has a clue what he is doing! Good luck getting a fair, honest bill! Well, since there's a mechanic(s) who doesn't know what he's doing, there's that... you're just screwed! Good luck getting your vehicle back, repaired ... after a few weeks, and guess what? It's still having the same problems! Good luck wanting to get it back in with the mechanic again- 2nd chance, fix it... nope, can't take it back until a few weeks later. Off season tourist, in a truck camper, driving through Nags Head when the alternator seemed to go at about closing time. Called around, no one open except Billy's (now "Luke's" - family business, now 3rd generation). Told me, "Don't worry, I'll wait for you." I limped in. I was a mechanic for BMW years ago; I can honestly say that Luke's a young man but clearly knew what he was doing and had the tools for most anything, motorcycles included. We are 12' high; drove right in the high bay shop. Diagnosed the problem (it was the alternator), called for new (rebuilt) part, had the old one out, the new one in, had me back on the road in about 1 hour. He put what he was working on aside and jumped right into my "emergency". This the kind of "old fashioned" service that's disappearing. read more

They kept my van for two weeks. When I tried to call there was no answer. After i finally got a diagnosis it was for a crankshaft sensor and an ignition coil with parts adding up to 150$. My final bill was 900$!! I got the van back and the initial problem was still there and they refused to take the van back or reimburse me at all. 750$ in labor for an unfinished job. thanks guys! read more

Had an issue with our 2010 Honda on the way to Nags Head for vacation. Was referred to Billy's because of the good work and honesty. Call and spoke with Tin, he said bring the car in and they will get it fixed. Got a call 1 hour later to give me what was wrong and how much, about an hour and a half later car was done and ready to go. Got there and Billy, Tin and I just had fun talking and laughing about everything, hated to leave. My car battery died unexpectedly late in the afternoon on a Friday while I was on vacation. After jumping starting my car, a local merchant suggested Billy's. She said they are the most honest place to get repairs on the island. Billy's had a lot of cars in front, most of them local. I was greeted at the door and taken care of immediately. Billy's did not have my type of battery in stock, so they called an auto shop to deliver it. The mechanic removed my old battery while we waited for the new battery and when it arrived, it was installed in less than 5 minutes. When my car's computers did not reset immediately, they had me drive around the block and promised to come find me if I wasn't back within 5 minutes. By the time I returned, everything was working perfectly. I was in and out in less than an hour. The price was more than reasonable and if I ever have car problems again while in the Nags Head area, I won't hesitate to return to Billy's. read more

I arrived in the outer banks and my mini vans charging light went on. I did not know any repair shops on the outer banks so I read reviews online and decided on Billy's auto repair. I called on Monday morning Kenny answered the phone I asked if they could help me out, he said bring it right over. I dropped my mini van off. Kenny called about an hour later said I needed an alternator an gave me the estimate. The price was reasonable so I said ok. Kenny called me at the end of the day and said the everything was ready. They are a very honest repair shop. Nice to find a place that doesn't take advantage of people on vacation. read more

I drove in from Maryland and had a battery that was slow to start. The mechanics performed a test of my battery and alternator soon after I arrived at the garage. They saw my battery was about to die, and ordered up a new one for me that arrived in about 3 minutes. They swapped it out and only charged me for the battery. I was out of there in less than an hour. Everyone I talked with was very friendly and nice. Awesome service! read more

My family and I were recently returning home from a week in Corolla. On the way home my truck broke down in Duck. 4X4 front wheel hub shot.
