One of the biggest regrets of my life is not coming to Bina's earlier. Seriously. We live around the corner, and when our dishwasher broke, we decided to order dinner. Their menu looked so good and unique. I was late to pickup our order, but it was still kept warm under heaters. The folks that greeted us were welcoming and kind. What we received was beyond. Incredible is an understatement. Our food tasted like love. The burek (we got spinach/feta and beef) was one of those meals you could eat over and over for the rest of your life. Balkan salad was so fresh, all veggies crunchy and perfectly seasoned. Bina's cake was like a taste of heaven. For less than $35, our family of 4 was able to get very full off of the best food we have had in a long time. Bina's Place tastes like family. Like love. Thanks to Yelp reviews I had to give this little cafe a try. It states in Yelp that it is a Mediterranean cafe, but I traditionally think of Armenian, pitas, and hummus. But that is not the kind of menu you will see. They serve traditionally burgers, sandwiches, and then they are known for the cevapis and bureks which are fantastic! A cevapi is a plate of meat sausage usually beef served with shredded cabbage and onions served in a bread that is similar to pita but softer. It was scrumptious! I then shared with my husband a burek filled with ground beef and cheese wrapped in filo dough type of pastry that is eaten like a pie and it took about 15-20 minutes to cook and it was so so good. I wanted to try their coffees because I heard they were good, but will have to give them another try next time. Service was very pleasant and helpful and the lady was very very nice. I will definitely be back to this little cafe. read more

We decided to try somewhere new and local for a late lunch today. The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly and we were able to grab a table in the corner. We ordered the Turkish coffee, hash brown toast and a side of cevapi, fettuccine Alfredo, and Polish sausage. Good food, going to return to try the other dishes. I hear that Bina's was on Western and it relocated. Well i am thankful because I avoid western and would have never found this gem. From the outside Bina's is unassuming and easy to miss. I only noticed it because there is a Bina in our family and thought it was cool. Honestly I assumed it to be a childcare place. (It's all about marketing people, especially in 2021). Anyway, it wasnt until I saw the word cevapi on the window that I got intrigued. I yelped it and I couldnt wait to go. Boy am I excited that I came in. I ordered 3 bureks (potato, feta, meat) and 2 cevapi plates. Overall I loved everything. The quality of the cevapi was top notch. I was surprised that it did not come with kajmak which is a staple of the dish. Then again its not a deal breaker. The bureks were perfectly made and cooked. I had never had potato burek and i was pleasantly surprised at how delish it was. Back home we accompany burek with plain yogurt and I made sure to do so, it elevated the taste. The burek with feta was probably my least favorite of the three. I love feta cheese but sometimes the quality of the cheese makes and breaks the burek. I felt like it could have been better. Complaints aside it was pretty great. If you go in and you seriously have to, I would suggest to call first. The food is made to order so it can take a minute. read more

We went here the other day and asked if we could sit outside in the back. They said yes. There was only one empty table and it did not have a reserved sign on it. We sat down with our two babies. A couple minutes later the owner yells out "hey, get up that is reserved. we forgot to put the sign." we had to take our two babies and move. first of all, you ask nicely and not yell out. Bina's Place is our favorite Rogers Park Neighborhood restaurant that we love. The food is outstanding and here are our favorites: 1 Cevap Plate - 10 little grilled skinless sausages served w onions, grated cabbage and wonderfully home made round bread (called pita, but it is not the usual middle eastern pita, it's taller and quite different). 2 Burek (Feta Cheese, Spinach w Feta, Potato, Ground Beef) Of the three fillings that we tried, we like the plain Cheese best. It's the best because Bina's make their own phyllo dough and use finest Bulgarian Feta. We have had burek from dozens of other places, but Bina's version is the BEST! Various Italian Dishes 3 Chicken Parmesan on spaghetti w marinara sauce. The chicken is absolutely fantastic and the spaghetti and sauce superb 4 Fettucini Alfredo - the pasta is cooked to perfection and the Alfredo sauce is excellent, not too greasy, but just right. 5 Char-Broiled Chicken Sandwich - It usually comes on a bun with mayo, lettuce, tomato. However, we ordered it w the "pita" bread and we love it that way. 6 The Balkan Salad is our favorite of all of their salads. Best of all they have beautiful, little, outdoor garden with about 5 or 6 tables. Please remind them to be sure to disallow smoking outside! read more

I have a feeling that if I lived here, this would be one of my favorite places. Cute spot off N. Western on Lunt, convenient to where I am staying! I am limited in my choices of food to eat, but anyone else would love the choices they offer. I would have loved pizza and baklava and the list goes on, but have had surgical bypass so got a caeser salad with chicken and it was quite good. They have other Balkan & Mediterranean food: qebap/čevapi, goulash, tavče gravče (navy bean type casserole) upon special request, leek pies also for special advance orders, regional drinks (Jupi, Cockta, yogurt/ayran) and desserts like baklava. They also have cafe items like coffee, sandwiches, pastas, panini's, and pizza. Their business is mainly carry out, and they cater large orders for parties. They have a small dining area inside and patio seating in the spring/summer. The special non-menu items (leek pies / tavçe gravçe) need 24 hours notice. read more

I came here this weekend to try Albanian food, and wow I am impressed! I had no idea what to expect, but everything was amazing. I got the burek and cevapi. The burek was delicious, like a cheesy spinach pillow, and the cevapi had a ton of flavor. It came with cabbage and onions, and the softest pita bread I've ever tried. I got a baklava for dessert, which was awesome. Gooey and sticky but not overly sweet. I got 3 meals out of the food I ordered and everything was only $20! The cafe was adorable and full of locals. After three visits: Tangy, fresh, hot and tasty, low priced double espresso. Surprisingly delicious and meaty turkey and provolone sandwich with lettuce, tomato and red onion. It's the fresh roll, mayo and butter that make it so much better than expected. It was served cold and not toasted or grilled, and I quickly devoured it. Their grilled turkey and provolone panini was good, though quite honestly I preferred the cold sandwich and in future will return for that one. It's a Macedonian restaurant and they offer a variety of those foods. The music played in their dining room would appear then to be Macedonian pop, though to me it is only certain that it is not American pop. It certainly is interesting, unusual, lively and energetic. Friendly family owners and staff. Pleasant indoor and umbrella tabled outdoor eating areas. The burek was very tasty, flaky and crispy, full of meat. It was also freshly made. We received very quick and friendly service. Binas cafe is one of my favorite places in my neighborhood. I order from them at least twice a week sometimes more. The owners are wonderful and hard working people. I tried 2/3 of items of their menu and loved every single thing. For the last two years I order their panini sandwich with cheese. You can add meat for a small charge. I always order the cheese panini with turkey. My boyfriend loves their food as well. Very clean place, great food nice service. What else can you ask for? Definitely deserving the 5 stars. Cevapi beef sausage with slaw and red onions is delicious as is the spinach and feta Balkan Burek pie bread. Generous portions and inexpensive. Genuinely mom and pop, small business that always needs exposure! These people are from Macedonia. The music is Albanian. Very clean and simple, tasteful. I've always enjoyed going to Bina's - it's a great place for a quick bite, some delicious Baklava or a super good cup of coffee. Tonight, however, they surpassed themselves. I really wanted a cup of decaf but didn't realize they closed at 9pm. As a result, I ran into the sweet, Macedonian lady who seems to run the place just as she was closing and locking the door. She opened the door, turned on the lights and invited me in while she made me the best decaf latte ever! Bina's Cafe is exactly what a mom & pop store should be but is rarely found anymore. I had a pannini. It comes with 1 cheese of your choice and then its about 2$ per topping. I got turkey and mozzarella. You can pay extra for fries, which I did. I liked the fries, they were crispy but the rest of the sandwich I wasnt crazy about. There was mayo on it that wasnt listed on the menu. Had it been listed I would have asked for it to not be added to my sandwich. The cheese didnt really melt either so it wasnt that great. My partner had the veggie pasta. He liked it. We sat outside. They have a nice patio. I'll return but to try their coffee and dessert instead. read more

This place deserves way more than 5 stars! Absolutely delish! All the Bureke are made fresh, my favorite is the spinach and feta, however the meat or feta is also very tasty! The cevap are also cooked to perfection. Salads are always fresh. They also have pizza, which is another good option, I've only had cheese....thin crispy crust, good sauce, and cheesy deliciousness!! They also have other pizza options, all of which I'm sure are super yummy! Bread is also made fresh in house. Did I mention they also have fresh baklava?!?!
