I haven't seen this chain before so decided to stop in and try their matcha latte for an afternoon pick-me-up. There are a couple of tables inside but not really suited for a big group of people to sit without pushing a lot of tables together. I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte with less sweetness, which I suggest because the fruit jam has a lot of sugar already. The drink came out super fast, quite literally 2 minutes after ordering through the kiosk. I could really feel the caffeine from this matcha, though the fruit and milk masks a lot of the matcha flavor. Would be back! read more

I've tried the pistachio matcha latte and OH. MY. GOD. Perfect balance, just enough of each flavor to compliment without either the nutty pistachio or the earthiness of matcha to overpower the other. You also can't go wrong with a classic matcha latte with your preferred sweetness. I've also enjoyed their combo banh mi and popcorn chicken. Wish I lived closer because this would be my go-to spot for drinks!! Was visiting Berkeley for the day and my boyfriend's brother originally recommended another matcha place, but we ended up here because they were open a little later! I'm so glad we ended up here! I was stuck between the pistachio or pandan matcha, but ultimately chose pandan. The flavor really stands out here!!! I've had Academic Coffee and Hijau Coffee's pandan lattes, but their pandan flavor is so subtle compared to Binge! I want to try all their drinks from Vietnamese coffee to the cream top matchas. Banana Coffee -- delicious! sweet coffee goodness! There's some bits of toffee in there. It's so creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. The banana flavor is just the right amount of flavor and tastes so good with the toffee bits. The toffee bits are crunchy too. This place gets busy, you can order on the kiosk and all the monthly special items will show up there. I prefer their coffee over their matcha but all drinks I tried so far are delicious! read more

Great place to catch up with a friend! Not so much for studying though (quite loud, small, and not enough seating/outlets imo). My friend and I visited on a Tuesday afternoon and easily ordered through one of the 2 kiosks. I got their seasonal pumpkin spice matcha latte, and my friend ordered an ube coffee. Both drinks were phenomenal, with apparent yet balanced flavors. I was especially impressed with the pumpkin spice matcha as the drink was not overly milky, you could actually taste the grassy matcha, and the pumpkin spice was not too sweet or overpowering (I did order 50% sweetness). Delicious and popular place in the corner! Went on a Saturday afternoon and the line was pretty long. Their internal system went down and it was going by really slow. My wife and I wanted to check out this spot on our way to Vallejo. Service was quick and efficient. The worker was able to explain the drinks that we asked about. Ambiance is a cool little spot. Had some searing but it's not a big cafe. We orders the Ube Viet Coffee and Viet Coffee w/cheese foam We asked for "less sweet" and it was perfect. Was craving matcha this morning and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the matcha strawberry, banana cream matcha, and Thai tea. The matcha strawberry was really good. The flavors blended nicely and it had that satisfying matcha kick I was looking for. The banana cream matcha wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, but it did taste a bit artificial for me, though I can see why others might enjoy it. The Thai tea was pretty standard, nothing too crazy, just a classic. Honestly kind of tasted like it was a pre made powder that was mixed. Overall, Binge Coffee is a cute and relaxing spot, perfect for college students or anyone looking for a chill place to grab a drink or snack. Holy moly. These drinks did not miss. The star of the show had to be the Vietnamese coffee which was perfect consistency (not too thick) and flavor profile (not too sweet and not too bitter). I dare say this is one of the best Vietnamese coffees I've ever had. The matcha was also pretty solid but I can't stop thinking about that coffee. read more

Popular coffee and matcha shop that did not hit the spot for me. Tried the banana matcha and the pandan coffee. Both were disappointments. Banana matcha - the thick banana cream and candied banana chips on the top were delicious, but it either completely masked the matcha or the matcha is not strong to begin with. I could not tell I was drinking a matcha drink at all. Pandan coffee - came in a radioactive neon green color with coffee on top. I selected the less sweet option, but it was still much too sweet. Tidbits - there are two kiosks you can order from. There is someone at the counter to serve drinks but not to take orders. 4 bar seats at the window and several small tables inside. Don't count on getting a seat on a busy day. read more

I've been to Binge Coffee House a few times now, and its definitely a great place to grab a drink to go from! You can order ahead on the Snackpass app, which is what I would recommend since there can be a pretty sizeable line/wait depending on the time of day, and there's not a whole lot of parking in the area. It seems like a decent study spot, with a few tables and chairs with people working at them, but can be quit crowded. Nice clean, open and bright space though! Definitely recommend the viet egg coffee, and the matcha lattes are pretty good quality too with good bitterness from the matcha- though sometimes I find the flavors can overwhelm the matcha, especially the banana matcha latte. Prices are on the higher end, ~$7-8 a drink, but the quality reflects the price I'd say. Overall, definitely recommend coming by for a nice matcha latte or egg coffee! read more

My friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and the place was packed! I would definitely recommend ordering ahead of time on Snackpass to avoid waiting in the crowded store for your order to be prepared. I had a chance to try out the popcorn chicken and quite enjoyed it. The chicken was nicely breaded, freshly fried, not too oily, and very tender. While the chicken could've used a bit more salt or some more chili powder, I really appreciated that they included a generously sized container of sriracha to go with it. My wife got a mango matcha drink and I thought the mango puree at the bottom was over the top in terms of sweetness. I would highly advise against trying it on its own because the sweetness may cause a burning sensation at the back of your throat. I would advise you to mix the puree in with the rest of your drink to dilute it down. Lastly, I had hinted at it at the beginning of my review, but because the place is so crowded, it is definitely not a good place to hangout, nor a spot you want to hang out at to get work down. Binge Coffee House is more of a grab-and-go type of a spot. Definitely would drop by again to try a bahn mi or their popcorn chicken again. read more

Berkeley is one of our favorite spots to go for activities and good food. It has a plethora of matcha spots, so I was extremely happy when we found such an amazing spot so quickly. Oftentimes when the market is oversaturated it can take some time to find a true gem, but that's what binge coffee house is. We've tried their double matcha, strawberry matcha, banana matcha, blueberry matcha, and ube matcha. My favorite is the strawberry matcha, which uses real strawberries. It is delicious. The blueberry matcha was also good, but blueberries have a more subtle flavor, so the flavor wasn't as strong. The double matcha is my second favorite, with a powerful matcha flavor in both the foam and the drink. Being able to alter the sweetness of the drinks is also a deal breaker for me, and thankfully you have the option to do that here for most drinks. I do wish it was all. You can also alter the milk type on most beverages, which is good as my boyfriend and I are lactose intolerant. You can tell if matcha is good matcha or not typically if it has a grassier or sweeter taste, and here I can taste the grassy flavor, specifically in the matcha foam, which is a great thing. We've been back multiple times and also brought friends here, so needless to say I highly recommend it! read more

Binge Coffee House is a cute little space with so many great options for drinks! Initially when you walk in, it does smell a little funky but it's likely from the pickled veggies for the bành mí sandwiches.. additionally there isn't much fresh air flow so it gets quite stuffy and warm inside the coffee shop. As for food & drinks, I enjoyed my Sesame Matcha & Chicken bành mí. The sandwich was delicious, chicken was not dry at all, herbs were fresh, and the bread was crunchy! All the key components for a great viet sandwich. If you're like me and like to split your food at restaurants, note that these sandwiches do not come cut in half & they do not have cutlery available for you to cut it on your own so you may have to ask the cashier to do that if needed. I docked down a star because I was hoping to get almond milk for my drink which was marked as unavailable which I was surprised by since it was only 11am but I do realize it's end of week. Overall great spot for a small bite & drink! I think the ambiance would really level up with outdoor seating since it gets packed along with installing air conditioning or windows that can open to allowing for a nice fresh air flow. read more

Drinks here are bomb. Literally any flavor will be delicious. I've tried peach (peach is not white in color but great flavor), strawberry (classic and delicious), and pistachio (cream is such a treat - creamy and salty and pistachio flavor is great). Only issue I had is that it's very difficult to figure out which drinks have dairy. They offer dairy free alternatives but many of the drinks already have dairy incorporated. For example, all the Vietnamese coffee drinks have condensed milk, so my lactose-free friends - tread carefully. read more

Really enjoyed the black sesame matcha here. The roasted black sesame flavor was deep, nutty, and rich, pairing surprisingly well with the earthy ceremonial matcha. WOW! I'm really happy to have found some LA K-Town quality & style of matcha in the Bay. It's a little bit out of my way, and I find the flavor profile/type of matcha to be just a little too sweet & creamy for heavy repeatability, but it's undeniable that this is a really yummy, consistent spot for when that sweet treat craving hits. Bf agrees: This is the best spot we've had so far in the bay area (yes, that includes SF and south bay). Order on 1 of 2 kiosks, short wait relatively early on Labor day but nothing crazy. I had to help out at UC Berkeley for the Caltopia event and didn't get a chance to make coffee at home, so I looked for a spot nearby. I saw that Binge Coffee House had matcha and decided to give it a try. I ordered two strawberry matchas, one for my coworker and one for me. The drinks looked great and were really delicious. My only wish is that there was a way to mix the drink so the strawberry flavor is throughout, instead of just sitting at the bottom. Once you get to the bottom, the flavor is nicely sweet and very tasty. A stir stick would make it perfect. I ordered through the app, and when I got there, my drinks were already chilled in the fridge. I really appreciate that they keep the drinks cold until you pick them up. Too many places just leave pick-up orders on the counter, and if you're late, the drink ends up diluted. This was handled really well. read more

Let me just say...I'm so mad that I discovered this place so late!! The coffee is delicious. The egg coffee is my favorite. Staff is always friendly, prompt and so helpful. Environment is clean, spacious enough and the perfect place to catch up with a friend or study, or a midday pick me up after a Pilates class! I know it's common in the Bay Area because of theft, but I've never been able to wrap my head around businesses not taking the national currency- if they took cash I would come in much more often.

In most other cases blossomy food and drink tends to be overpowered by a perfume-like aroma. In this case however it's balanced perfectly with the matcha, present but not too loud. Additionally, the bathroom is consistently clean, and looks very nice.
