First time visiting Thai Harmony. The building it is in was a bank many years ago, and I worked as a teller at that bank. The teller line was in about the same spot as our table so a lot of memories flooded back. The atmosphere is definitely not bank-like - lots of large windows, black lacquer, sleek and modern but with colorful, timeless Thai accents. I decided to order the Chicken Lettuce Wrap starter as my entree. I could have sworn I made a photo but apparently I did not. The wraps came with a sweet and sour sauce. They were good (there were 5 or 6 and I ate all but one!) but the consistency of the chicken was not my favorite (finely ground, almost gritty) and they were a bit bland without the sauce. I was in a party of 11 and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Service was helpful and friendly. Gratuity was added to the bill due to the size of our party. I would come here again! read more

Had the best time with our server Daisy!!! She is awesome ! The food here is always delicious and freshly prepared. It's a busy place and they get the jib down well. The staff are all super nice and they remember you , which is a nice touch. My chicken Thai basil was perfectly spicy like I asked. I arrived about an hour before they closed at 3pm. It wasn't packed with people at this time so you shouldn't need a reservation. Amazing lunch! It started with the spring roll that comes with the lunch order. It was crunchy on the outside and soft with cabbage and carrots on the inside. I'd never had the golden curry puff before but it was delicious and I paired it with a spicy sauce which was great. It came with four of them so you could easily split this with others or enjoy them all yourself like I did. They were so soft and delicious. They were stuffed with potato, carrot, onion, and ground chicken with curry sauce on it. Truly excellent. The chicken drunken noodle was tasty and perfectly cooked. There was also a perfect amount of sauce in the meal which made it light. I love it. Will definitely be back. The server was so polite and attentive. Great experience all around. read more

It was... fine. I've been spending tons of time downtown and exploring all the venues I've never had a chance to see. Today I was craving sushi and having heard charm Thai has an owner that is less than welcoming to certain members of the community... I chose Thai harmony. I went with the two roll sushi lunch, choosing the unagi roll and one with salmon, avocado and cucumber. It came with a choice of soup or spring rolls which I chose the latter. The spring rolls were fine- not different than any fried, probably frozen spring roll. The sushi was very mid tier. Not the worst of the worst but certainly not the best. The portion of fish was small, the rice was well cooked but it was just fairly flat. In the future I'll probably save my sushi meals for elsewhere but I'm glad I tried. read more

Easy to find....not exactly.....worth finding....definitely! The fam-bam ventured out on Friday early evening despite the rain to finally eat at Thai Harmony. The restaurant is inside the bottom floor of an office building next to the new Kaleduim in DTWS. Garage parking is available but no cost for street parking in the evening. You enter the building and you will be surprised at the clean, and nicely decorated interior. We were seated promptly and our server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My wife ordered Pad Thai, my son got Drunken Noodles and I got the Penang Curry and a cup/bowl of Miso. Like many places in WS they don't just specialize but are a fusion and have Japanese food as well. I don't typically try the family's choice however they were very happy with their dishes. For me the flavor of the dish was excellent, fragrant and a hint of spice. The sauce is a little more watery than I like but overall it was a great choice. As I said it is worth finding. read more

Quick service, great food. This is authentic Thai food with real Thai spice with varying degrees of hot. The servers and staff are always nice and thorough with your order. It's tastefully decorated inside and does make you feel like you've stepped into a space with a little bit of harmony after a busy day. Pro tip: Takeout is pretty reliable too! read more

I tried a bit as well, and it was really good. My Panang curry was quite good as well, but not the absolute best I've ever had. Wow. I'm in love. Finally made it here. My chicken pad Thai was just delicious, perfect balance. I tried my son's chicken drunken noodles and I'm definitely getting that next time. In fact, when I order it, I'm going to ask them to make the noodles well done and caramelize it a little. My husband's panang curry was a little light for me (and for him). Not too much of a punch in the flavor. We noticed in NC they make the panang very light. In LA it was a much thicker sauce. But no way am I taking a star away just for that. Placed a to go order on a Saturday. Two orders of chicken drunken noodles spicy and an order of crab rangoons. This was $60 which is absurd. About 40 mins later we go to pick it up - it's not ready. That's okay I'd rather have hot food than cold. The place was very busy with patrons. Get the food home and it's good, spice level is nice and flavorful. But where are the veggies? Drunken noodles should have veggies and then chicken added in. Each dish has maybe 3 pieces of broccoli and a carrot or two. Crab rangoons were good but we got 4. So between the lack of veggies, lack of quantity on the app, and the cost, it's going to be hard for us to come back here. Because what did we pay $60 for? read more

The building first of all is beautiful. Once inside you're transferred to another world with the decor. The servers are so nice and welcoming. We have ordered bento boxes, stir fry and their noodles and everything was amazing. But top tier was their fresh hand made sushi!!! Went here for my birthday and I even got a birthday treat! This place was in a business-y part of downtown at the base level of a large building. It had some nice indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the nearby park. While most of the tables were full on a Friday night, I was able to get in here when other options were packed. A large and vegetarian-friendly menu left me with plenty of choices. My fresh spring rolls with an abundantly peanutty sauce were a good start. Ordering a green curry at 5/5 spicy yielded visible dried chili on top as a signifier and a noticeable burn, albeit nothing that should scare anyone away. They offered me more chili, but I decided to spare my intestines any greater challenge. The rest of the flavors of green curry shone through, including the fresh basil leaves I tore up. I was pleased with the vegetable and tofu mix and the ample rice. A tea was straightforward, and they offered me a cup to go. Thai is challenging from a vegetarian perspective as the authentic versions often have ingredients we don't want, but here I got a nice balance of proper Thai flavors in food that I could actually eat, as well as a nice setting, energetic service, and convenience. Thai harmony was delicious. I loved the fried taro app. It's so hard to find taro in NC. I ordered green curry with tofu. It was spicy but not overwhelming. The wait staff was nice me it wasn't very busy on the Mon night that we visited. It took a little while to meet our waiter but we enjoyed our experience. I was in Winston-Salem for a conference and stopped here for dinner and it was so good! Shoutout to our server Daisy who was amazing! She gave great recommendations and wonderful service! I ordered the peach tea with lychee based on the recommendation of another Yelper's review and I am in total agreement! It's so wonderful! It is a little sweet, but I loved it! For dinner, I ordered the pad thai with tofu and I had an order of spring rolls and it was all very tasty and flavorful. The space is pretty big and I enjoyed the whole experience. This is going to be my new sushi spot. Went for girls night and the food was absolutely incredible. We always start with the perfect amount of apps (too many) and then we went with the sushi boat so we had all of the variety. I can only have cooked rolls right now which is disappointing but these were SO good and the quality of the fish and food in general was wonderful. While I prefer nigiri and chirashi over rolls, maki were the only options on the lunch menu. Thus I chose the Alaska and earthquake roll combo, starting first with miso soup. The miso was loaded with seaweed and tofu cubes and was more flavorful than I first expected. The maki arrived soon after, and the presentation was nice. A bit average on the quality of the fish, I thought, but the pieces were well formed and did not fall apart. The light lunch left me wanting more, so I added the trio of mochi ice cream flavors to round out the meal. The table tent advertised this at $4.95, but I was charged two additional dollars for the dessert. I will say they probably put two dollars worth of whipped cream, caramel syrup, and chocolate syrup atop the little blobs of ice cream. Service was prompt, and perhaps a bit overzealous as the waitress would fill my water glass each time I drank more than twenty percent of its contents. There's ongoing work in the building that holds this restaurant. The space feels a bit more like it could be a downtown sports bar than an Asian restaurant. All in all, the meal was okay but not especially memorable, and the overcharging left me a bit frustrated. 2.75 stars. read more

The dining space is nice with a downtown vibe where every table has a window view with two sides of the dining space being full glass windows. Helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly staff. The restaurant looks fantastic, high ceiling, tall glass window wall that you can clearly see the street. Usually a steakhouse or more expensive restaurant have these kind of feature in downtown. Food was pretty decent although I will say it's somewhat on the pricey end for the portions that they are serving also I'm informing everyone it does not matter the size of your party they will throw an automatic gratuity fee of 20% on the weekends! We sat outside and since Thai Harmony is located next to Civic Plaza Park, there were lots of kiddos who were running from the outdoor tables to play in the park. I got the Reynold's tower roll and it was delicious! My husband got the pan seared tuna which was a small tuna steak with a side salad for $28. The food was delicious and the waiter was really friendly. I do have to warn, however, that people who are allergic to shellfish should not eat here. Things that contain shellfish are not obviously marked. I had the red curry with chicken. I had no idea that it's made with shrimp paste, which led to some real suffering, so if this affects you, please be careful! A solid sushi and Thai option downtown! Went for dinner with friends: party of four and got seated immediately and an incredible and fun waitress-service was wonderful! We started with crab Rangoon and shrimp and crab egg rolls: they were decent! The Rangoon was made with wonton wrappers, so they are a bit more delicate than others. Our waitress told us the spice levels were American spicy, not Thai spicy, which is good to know! She brought a spice tray with several sauces and chilis to up the level (we're wild like that) Entrees: Drunken noodles with soy duck-diner enjoyed it! Spice level 4 and needed some more power. The soy duck was tender for soy and the noodles were nice and not overdone. Not 'fatty' but fall apart in your mouth tender. Pho with duck-loved it. The duck was incredible and the noodles were great. Larb and sticky rice- the larb was good, and the sticky rice got sent back because it was porridge texture? Exchanged for Jasmine rice. Som tum and earthquake roll- this was mine and pictured! The som tum (level 4) was excellent: funky salty spicy. The earthquake roll was good: spicy tuna, avocado and crunch. I added more spice to the som tum and it needed an extra bit of lime or splash of fish sauce. Definitely order again! For dessert we got lava cake (loved it) and mochi ice cream-the mochi was fine, thin layer and not the best ice cream for the vanilla. The mango and strawberry were much better. This was a good dish - broth was really tasty and was the right mix. I asked about the protein for this dish and they said beef was best - they were right. Service here is excellent - some construction going on nearby for the new Children's museum. I usually only get sushi here but was branching out. Lunch was good. Only complaint - sodas are $3.99 for a fountain drink - I needed some caffeine and got a diet Dr. pepper - soda didn't taste great - as actually kind of bad and was $4 - low mix - empty box - not sure - would get water next time or maybe a tea. Thai Harmony is *almost* walkably close to my work, and definitely walkably close when the Stevens Center has events (closing soon for renos) and right next door to the downtown Kaleideum location (coming soon!) so it ends up in irregular rotation for me.
