I signed up for nobody's fault insurance and got my new system enrolled to be served by Bio Green in 2018. This year I had all the issues and failed to reach any manager to escalate my issues. There was a leak at Zone1 and the raised the issue end of Jul. I got the maintenance technician to identify another leak at the joint to the backflow. After a long struggle to get this scheduled and fixed. The crew came, fixed the joint leak and ignored the Zone1 leak. Aug, Sep and now in Oct and still I had to turn off my system because of the continuous leak. I have been calling the office to try to schedule this fix. They came back in Sep with an estimate to fix. Since then I have been trying to tell them, I will pay any amount of money but fix it. Today I called the office trying to reach a manager. Mr. Zach answered the phone and informed me ALL managers are busy in a meeting because they upgrading the system for the PAST TWO MONTHS. I asked for a supervisor, again the same answer that all supervisors are in the field. Mr Zach went even further to state, he KNOWS what the manager will tell me and he is happy to cancel my winterization schedule tomorrow. To be honest with you, I am at a loss of words for such customer service. My lawn is turning yellow over summer because no one cared to service the lawn. More importantly, although I did not even talk about insurance I paid for, offered to pay whatever needed,I am unable to get anyone to put an effort to do. I explained to Mr. Zach over the phone, that his crew when they came and left estimate last time, I was at home, and no they did not knock the door and they left in less than 10 min by just looking at the muddy zone1. Amazingly their estimates kept changing of the root cause, starting with maybe car by mistake drove over the sprinkle, to now leak is under a tree and maybe the pipe got broken by roots. In the end, it looks for me they just checkbox when they come and quickly look to leave with no care to really serve. It is impossible to get someone over the phone to address your issue. -- Update -- Received a termination note :) -- Update -- apparently, the practice is to claim anything, put full-time manager to fix yelp and ignore answering customer complains. Heard from a neighbor it is their common practice upselling insurance and always stall to push for renewing the policy when they fail to fix. Funny how they rendered the issue no reply from my side. Happy to post email communications and video of how their service estimate is done. BBB complaint filed and will take it more to the Department Of Professional and Occupational Regulation for their male business practice. Look at how they are replying to any complaint immediately on yelp, if only they cared to do so by answering phones and emails, they would actually be better. read more

I became a customer of biogreen on the recommendation of a neighbor. Their customer service is one the worst I have dealt with. Calling multiple times, getting a different answer each time I call. I have had them tell me to get services they recommend after they told me to drop down to the lower tiers. It would have been cheaper to stay at the higher tier if you include all the recommended services. Add to that I asked they come out and seed some spot areas. They told me they would try to be out within the week. Do you know when they came? 3 months later. Well guess what, I already seeded it myself. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more

In response...ALL my sprinkler heads were in fact marked. The miscommunication is that I was NEVER told there would be a charge for the repair nor was I given an estimate of how much it would cost prior to the repair. I was just left a bill. As far as the fungus issue, while in fact we had this issue prior to BioGreen they were told of this issue and instead of jumping on the problem as soon as we noticed it starting again in the spring it was brushed off as everyone's lawn looks that way due to weather. read more

My wife and I have been longtime Bio Green customers. They did our landscape lighting, serviced our sprinklers, and we've been on their lawn care plan for a number of years. Last season we paid for one of their more high end lawn care packages, which included core aeration and over-seeding in the Fall. Last Fall, due to an oversight on our part, our landscaper completed the aeration and seeding along with several of our neighbors. When we called to explain this to Bio Green, they said it wouldn't be an issue and we could defer that service until next year. Based on this information, we (temporarily) downgraded our service for the year to one that didn't include the aeration and over-seeding service in the Fall. Why pay for it again if it is owed to us from the prior year? In early August, we called to schedule the aeration service and were told we needed to speak with the lawn services manager, Zach. We left several voicemails and emails and were strung along for well over a month before Zach and the owner informed us that they would not honor their commitment from last year. No explanation - just simply they would not do it unless we paid extra for it. I can understand if costs have gone up because of the pandemic, but if that's the case, why not explain that and either ask that we pay the difference or offer a substantial discount? We have been a fans of Bio Green for quite some time and they've done great work for us. Our lawn tech, Robert, is fantastic and our lawn looks great! Their customer service, however, is sorely lacking and the communication is awful. I wish I could say that maybe the owner just isn't aware of how things are being run but apparently he was part of this whole ordeal. As I stated to Bio Green, we will not be renewing our contract when it expires and will go to one of the many competitors in the area. I'll also be sure to not recommend Bio Green to neighbors as I've done several times over the years. read more

Had these guys for years, ended up canceling last year b/c one of the service techs failed to actually perform the work. I had started to notice weeds in my lawn, so i made it a point to review my cameras after every service. I found that the BioGreen tech was literally at my house for less then 5 mins, he did a really small portion of my lawn and left. I was still charged for the full service. I called and reported it to management so that they could address and perform the work, pretty much called me a lair after having them work on my lawn for 4 years. I canceled my service. I even offered to share the video with them! Make sure you keep an eye on the techs, most are good (Robert is really good - things went down hill after he stopped working on my lawn) but some of their newer hires cut corners. read more

Biogreen used to be a great company. I was a client for almost 10 years and when I moved I asked them to keep service going. However they have grown and customer service and management is a joke. I've called multiple times to seek minor repairs and they never follow-up. Of course if you have an upgrade or repair that is large they pay attention immediately. I literally called 3 times and each time they promised to call back yet never did. I made the mistake of using them to turn on and off service. They charge almost $200 to turn on your service and they spend all of 5 minutes on your system. They left and all the heads were pointed in the wrong direction or not working. The tech told me he was not allowed to spend anytime fixing or adjusting. So I called the office and of course they never called back. I tried 3 times and no response. Save your money and your time and go elsewhere. I even asked to speak to a manager and never heard back. Save your time and money (they are getting way to expensive) and find another company. read more

A waste of time when dealing with customer service- and even the Sprinkler Manager, "S" who was pleasant but defensive and not even willing to listen to what i was calling about. (Received an invoice for a annual "renewal." $200- not bad!! I received two (or three) voice message reminders and multiple text messages reminding that the appointment for winterization was scheduled (efficient and convenient). The service tech shows up at the scheduled time- walks to my front door, and leaves an invoice attached to the door. (Why would a reasonable professional not ring my doorbell or knock?) I'm not paying upfront for services not rendered! why dispatch someone when they weren't going to do the work??? I stayed home this morning to wait for the tech... this is just one example of why I'll not use them again. Second issue- I called them out for a system maintenance in August (2018) (This is how I initiated the relationship). They gave me an estimate of $647 for a new Pro-C and wireless Ron sensor. Also said I needed 6 pieces in my valve boxes- $647. I called my neighbors law guy who has done irrigation systems for more than a decade. He came by, and for $45.00 he fixed the problem and stated that I didn't need any of that work. My system worked as expected for the entire season. No issues. I don't know why I let this company back on my property. Never again. Horrible customer service and quite overpriced. There are other reputable, great businesses out here that value customers and don't resort to these questionable business practices. Terrible service. Rude management. Unreliable work. I've been a customer for 15 years and they lost my service over a $150 dispute for a service where nothing was done or improved. It took 3 months to talk to a supervisor, who pretty much did not care to keep my business and blatantly lied to my face. Never use this company. They are untrustworthy. I changed my original post because it was to verbose and I can shorten it significantly by just saying that Biogreen does a pretty good job maintaining my lawn for somewhere around the last decade. I gave an extra star from my original post because they deserve it for that part of the service they provided me. Spring startup and winterization of my system however, is proceeded by nearly identical drama and dread that I'm unwilling to continue to accept. Maintenance contract for 2020 was paid for already but my hard earned money for seasons going forward will be awarded to another local lawn company. read more

Last week, a BioGreen technician completed the routine maintenance of our sprinkler system. The technician told my husband the system was fine. Unfortunately, the routine maintenance that is designed to identify issues or to prevent issues actually caused issues with our sprinkler system. The sprinkler return system is shooting water from the valves. Prior to this routine maintenance, our system functioned without issues. My husband and I have noticed some changes with the service quality recently. For 10 years, we have used BioGreen services for our sprinkler system and turf maintenance. read more

After moving into a townhouse about 2 years ago l hired Biogreen Irrigation to service and maintain my irrigation system. This spring (2020) when they came to install the backflow valve and turn on the system the technician was not able to determine why he was not getting enough pressure in the system to make the sprinkler heads to "pop-up", although he was getting a trickle flow of water at all stations. The system was working fine when winterized in the previous fall. After troubleshooting a while he said he would need to schedule another maintenance visit to troubleshoot further. When he came back several weeks later, he began troubleshooting with no success, so I pointed out a lawn area along side of the driveway that seemed to constantly stay wet when the system was pressurized and dry when not pressurized to see if that might be related to the low pressure. After digging alongside a recently installed 'Bluestone" on concrete walkway (that also seeped water from below) adjacent to the driveway grass area which was staying wet, he told me that the main water line running under the driveway was leaking and the only way to repair it was to remove a 3 foot section of the new walkway, which he marked with flags. A couple weeks later I was able to get the original masonry company to come back to cut out the walkway (which would then require a new installation of concrete and bluestone ... expensive!). The mason made one small cut next to the flagged area with his masonry saw and stopped to dig up the lawn so he could see exactly where the main water line was located so he would not cut through it. After digging along the 3 foot flagged section HE COULD NOT FIND A MAIN WATER LINE RUNNING UNDER THE WALKWAY/DRIVEWAY! He did not want to continue cutting and damaging the new walkway. The mason then went to check the backflow valve and components of the irrigation system, telling me he worked as an irrigation technician for several years before masonry work. He asked me to go into my basement to see if the irrigation water valve was turned fully "on". IT WAS NOT, it was only partially on. When I turned the valve to "full-on", "Voila", the system received full pressure and worked fine (saving me a lot of money on masonry repair) . So now I had to call for a Biogreen technician to come out again to check the system like he should have done on the first visit, if he could have gotten full pressure.. Approximately 2 weeks later a technician came out to check all the sprinkler heads and told me he would "cap" two heads in the zone where the grass and walkway were staying wet in order to help resolve the problem with wetness. Now, as before, even after days of not watering or getting rain, the wet area continues to stay wet and the lawn is turning brown where he placed a cap. I was billed approximately $100 for the first visit, $100 for the second visit, and $165 for the 3rd visit, and I am awaiting a bill from the mason (who actually resolved the lack of pressure problem). I called Biogreen to ask for a $100 credit to my account because they were not able to determine the original low pressure issue, requiring follow-on visits. I also wanted to discuss options for repairing what seems to be a small leak somewhere in the main line. On a Monday, I explained the above sequence of events to the office rep and was told a "supervisor" would have to approve a credit and that he would call me back that day or the next. When I did not receive a call-back by the following Friday I called back for an update and retold the story. I was once again told that a "supervisor would call me that day or the following Monday. Today, is the following Thursday so I called back for an update again and was told by the office rep that the supervisor had not been available to call me for a few days but had told her it was not their fault they were unable to get the system operating and offered no credit to my account. I asked the rep if she understood the issue with billing me for repeated poor technical assistance/analysis. She said she did and would once again get a supervisor to call me. A week later still no call. So after $365 of billing plus an unknown cost for a mason, 3 phone calls to the office over a period of weeks, and hiring a mason who actually fixed the pressure problem, I still have a system with a leak, no credit, and no supervisor to talk to. is that a way to run a business? read more

I would not recommend this company or use them again. In fact I wrote them a letter stating as much. I have several complaints but the most significant is that they installed the system inside the VDOT right of way adjacent to the sidewalk and refuse to move it without payment. I can prove it was not my mistake that led to this error but they refuse to consider making the change without payment. I was quoted this by the president of the company. They do not provide any services on the weekend and therefore you must take off work to meet them during the week. One of the times I took off they did not show up and asked to reschedule, apparently without considering my time as valuable, but another time I had to cancel and they wanted to change me for the missed appointment. Finally, I am overall not happy with the sprinkler head layout they designed. It does not provide adequate coverage in my opinion and did not account for the growth of the bushes, shrubs, and plantings. read more

One of the worst lawn care company. Technician does not know your lawn borders. He does not want to inform you and will be very rude. When you complain they always pass the buck to somebody. They charged me for lime treatment but never applied the lime. Tech will come in your absence and will not treat the whole lawn. In the short amount of time of using BG, starting this early summer to be exact, my lawn has turned from patchy, weedy, brownish grass into a thing of beauty. I had tenants moving out of my house, so I went over there for the pre-move out inspection and found that the back flow preventer was cracked because it was not winterized. Called my management company to have them call a contractor to fix it and charge the tenants for the repair because they failed to winterize the system Bio Green came out and told the tenants that the back flow was just worn out and that it was not due to a failure to winterize it. Well Bio Green maybe you should tell your techs to inspect the system correctly and listen to the customer, because now you cost me $73.00 to replace a back flow preventer when it should have been an expense on the tenants. read more

I'm a new Biogreen customer. Had a neighbor who used them for irrigation and lawn service and his lawn was making mine look bad. After several years of trying on my own, decided to give my neighbor's com pany, Biogreen, a try. We started with irrigation service. Installation went fine. Miscommunication on the when and how long to install, but it all got done. Also went with the lawn care service. Mr. Brown, who is our consultant, has been great at regularly communicating with me as to when he is coming and leaving detailed information on what he did on our service day. Irrigation was installed in April/May, and lawn service started immediately afterwards. Gotta say, lawn is look great! It's lush, green, minimal weeds (work in progress), but WAY better than had I continued to do on my own. Thank you BioGreen and Mr. Brown. read more

They did an awful job on my drainage system: they did not put rocks/gravel in the drain basin so the water can be drained down. So the water was always there. Then they ask for $925 to $1600 options to fix it. AVOID read more

Finally switching away from BioGreen. I am tired of them coming whenever they feel like even if my yard is covered in leaves! I DO NOT NEED FERTILIZED LEAVES! This happened twice. Hello - if the lawn is covered in leaves and the homeowner has told you the leaves will be picked up in a week or two and the homeowner will call when leaves are removed please do not come out and fertilize the leave covered lawn! UGH! They also came out when yard was being totally re-landscaped and worked around the landscapers who were trying to complete the job. Very frustrating to work with them so I am done. read more

I have been using BioGreen for several years and their field folks are very good, their accounts payable are quick to contact you to let you know you have a bill due but if they over charge you, they stop returning your e-mails. I paid $200 for services before the field techs were sent to my home in November, when they arrived I was not there and they told my wife they could not winterize the system unless she gave them a check. She couldn't reach me so she gave them another check for $200. When I contacted BioGreen later that day they said my wife's check was the only one they received. I checked my account a few days later and saw my check had cleared and my wife sent me proof that her check had cleared, both were stamped "For Deposit Only BioGreen Outdoor Services". I sent a copy of the two checks to BioGreen via e-mail and I was then told the only check they show posted to the account was my check, when before the check number they said posted was my wife's. I have since sent two more e-mails, with the checks attached, that have gone totally ignored. Like I said, their field folks are great but I would not sign a contract or send them any money, I would make them collect it at the door and then have them sign a statement saying they received it from you, their accounts payable is less than a joke they are pathetic. read more

The actual service is just okay, not necessarily detailed oriented. They turn the system off and on and do what needs to be done per contract however, they don't always adjust the sprinkler heads in the spring. My biggest complaint over the years is the poor customer service and the way I am spoken to by the scheduler. Everyone has a bad day now and then and I understand that but there is an unsettling level of consistency in this department. I will be finding another company after 20 years because the customer service has been consistently going down over the last 5 years. read more

Bio green definitely makes or lawn stand out against the rest! We have a new lawn and it has been a process. It is green and healthy (except for the terrible stains from our dogs that can't be fixed easily). Robert Brown was our tech today and he is so friendly and hard working! Poor customer service; inconsiderate of customers; poor technician skill set; Pricey After 3 years am dropping this company's irrigation service because of their poor time management and lack of consideration for my time. From the beginning they have been unable to provide any estimate of arrival time so you are stuck waiting for them. Sometimes they claim the technician will call the night before - never happened yet! Sometimes they claim if you call in the morning they will know, but of course when you call they will not commit to anything shorter than a 4 hour window - and then with caveats The final straw was this spring. No notification of arrival time; called in the morning was told 12-4 BUT he might arrive early. ???? (it was ~10AM, might as well have said they had no clue.) Encountered problem in turn-on, technician, after spending 0 time trying to diagnose, left, telling me to call after 11am on Monday to get estimate and book service (it was a Friday afternoon). Called at 12:30 - closed for lunch (consideration - customers might need to call at lunch, THEY WORK TOO!); called again at 2:30 (no return call); forwarded to voice mail of Stephanie by receptionist; left message. Called again at 3:45 (they close at 4); receptionist about to forward me to same voicemail mentioned Stephanie had been in a meeting all day and wouldn't be getting back to me. Demanded to speak to someone and got a guy name Steven. After no less than 3 different excuses, he assured me they would get back to me by COB Wednesday with a firm date. Wednesday came and went. Called again Thursday, about to be put into the same voicemail so demanded to speak to someone. Talked to yet another guy (Matt?) who gave me an actual appointment (2 weeks later) but clearly knew little about the problem even though tech was supposed to create estimate. Have fixed this myself. All it required was dropping the power to the faulty valve box and restoring and reseating the controller modules. Fix time ~10 minutes; Phone time to Biogreen 2+hrs; Time spent waiting for technician to show: 5 hours (this time) read more
