We had a 7 full sized dumpster hoarding situation at a family home of 2,300 sq ft. Narrow mountain streets, difficult access, intermittent rain storms and limited space to cycle in and out empty then full dumpsters. 8-10 person crew of Honest, Honest, friendly, helpful workmen. They helped sift through the insane 5-6' tall piles of collected "stuff" inside the house looking for possible valuable or sentimental items. I called the number on their website to get a quote for a Bio-Hazard cleanup for a mid-sized SUV. I rented the vehicle to a guest who decided to sniff around 25 large canisters of Nitrous Oxide during a 3 day binge and left feces and urine behind. He walked me through the situation from a cleanup perspective and recommended me the steps to follow. He was extremely helpful and provided all the information I needed to make a decision. In fact, he provided so much value that I felt indebted to him and offered to write him a check for his time discussing the issue and he refused my offer. These guys did a piss poor job. The entire time, the owner was in a hurry to get in and out. He was not thorough in the clean up and I found left over feces after the fact, even though they claimed to have moved and inspected and cleaned everything. To make matters worse, they moved my desk and caused numerous screws to fall out where the legs were attached to the desk. Now my desk is wobbly, which it wasn't before. Why they made NO effort to correct the problem is beyond me. They just left in a hurry for me to have to discover it and then fix it myself. The owner likes to boast about how he was a corporate big wig for many years, but he's only been in this business for a year and doesn't provide the level of customer service one should expect. To not be thorough in the cleanup of bio-hazardous materials is deplorable. But to knowingly break something and not have the integrity to fix it, is despicable. I would not recommend this novice business to anyone. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I give Alan and his crew at Bio SoCal my HIGHEST recommendation, and I don't do so lightly. This is a detailed review so you'll know why I think Alan and his guys are so great. I was facing a hoarding situation in a third-floor apartment, and it was as bad as the photos you've seen on TV or the internet: filled with debris and pretty disgusting. I needed to clear all the junk and debris out fast. I went to Yelp and read reviews for a bunch of companies that deal with junk and/or hoarding, all with lots of great reviews. I called a bunch of these companies for quotes. The heads of some companies came out to look at the place, and others were okay looking at a very detailed video walk-through I did of the debris-filled apartment. Not surprisingly, the bids all came in pretty close to each other. So, since all the companies had good reviews and a similar price, why did I choose Alan? There were 6 different reasons -- and I definitely made the right choice: 1. He was fast. He was quick to visit the place to see it, and could do the job as quickly as I needed it done, which was almost immediately. 2. Others had a crew of 3 or 4 people. Alan told me that he'd bring in 6 people: 3 to empty/shovel the place out and fill up huge barrels with the debris; 1 to wheel the barrels out to the huge truck they brought, about the size of a small dump truck; and 2 to dump the barrels into the truck. Well, it turned out this huge crew was indeed necessary, and they worked like a well-coordinated military squad -- fast and smooth. There was simply no way that a smaller crew could have handled the job in one day. 3. As mentioned, Alan had a HUGE truck, and therefor only needed to fill it twice. Others, with smaller trucks, would have needed to make 3 or 4 or more trips to the dump to unload the debris. 4. I didn't need to find a deep-cleaning company for after the debris was removed. Deep cleaning was included in his bid and services. 5. Alan stood by his price, even when the clean up (after emptying out the place) turned out to be a bigger job that he had guessed it would be. (There was no way to guess the amount of clean-up that would be needed when the place was full of debris.) Even when I offered to pay Alan more money, he wouldn't take it. 6. There were a few disgusting parts of the apartment that some other clean-up guys wouldn't touch. For him, it was "no problem." I'm sure there are other companies out there that do good work. But Alan and his team were definitely the perfect company for a job as difficult as mine. read more

Can't say enough about the assistance Alan, at Bio SoCal gave us. We went into escrow in a house that had all kinds of animal residual. Birds had free reign of the house with no cages. i live in nyc. my uncle lived in irvine, ca. when he passed, i was named trustee of his estate. i traveled to california in late november. when i saw the condition of hoarding inside my uncle's house, i had no idea what to do. i was shocked. i will admit i chose bio-one somewhat randomly. i read reviews here on yelp and took a chance. figured i'd get an estimate and if the guys seemed shady, i'd move on to the next one. alan answered the phone right away and scheduled a site visit almost immediately. i explained that not only was there a severe hoarding issue, but since my uncle was ex PD and ex military, i knew there would be a number of weapons in the house, but not where. alan calmly took me through how they would approach the mess within the house and also explained how his core team were ex military and would be sure to quickly disarm any loaded weapon. barely able to open the front door because of debris, alan's bio-one team entered the house and quickly assessed the condition. they explained how long it would take, how the day would go, what their process was, how many dumpsters they felt were needed, etc. needless to say, they were extremely thorough. i received an estimate the next day that was for far less $$ than i'd expected and far less time (2 days) than i'd expected. i told alan i'd travel back out in december. we set up guidelines as to what to look for and save in the mess and said we'd set up a date for me to return. alan was incredibly accommodating when it came to scheduling. mid december my family and i traveled out. i have to admit, i was dreading it. the bio-one core team could not have made my mom and i feel more comfortable. i knew we were in the best hands possible. alan may be the leader, but he gets his hands just as dirty (pun intended) as the rest of his team. he stayed in the dumpster, combing through anything brought to him. cody, ira, eugene and the rest of the core team were incredibly meticulous, caring, careful and also tirelessly hard workers. they made two, what i thought were going to be miserable and emotionally wrenching, days into almost an interesting look into my uncle's life and what might have been going through his mind to get to the point we were at. always respectful, they kept the days light. in the end, alan's estimate was on point. while we exceeded his expectations when it came to tonnage, the cost was dead on. and while we found weapons, including loaded ones, we never felt unsafe. they were secured the whole time. i think the thing that struck me most was the professionalism. alan and the core team made us feel like this was 'normal'. hoarding is incredibly confusing and difficult for most to understand. alan was able to give us some insight into the disease and some peace as to why/how a person gets to that point. i cannot thank bio-one, alan, ira, cody, eugene and the rest of the team for the service they performed for myself, my family and late uncle. read more
