The worst possible experiences ever. I would never go back. I wasted three different visits over 2 hours each visit. It was ridiculous! I attempted my first ever donation at the BioLife in Liberty, MO. The check in staff was kind as she verified all of my information. She sent me to the blonde nurse with glasses who was very rude and sent me away for not eating enough immediately before my visit. I had a small meal and had more in the car but she insisted that I had to reschedule. The front desk staff rescheduled me for the next afternoon, so I tried again, ensuring I had eaten "enough" for the nurse. After the check in process I proceeded to the screening with my lab stick and blood pressure, etc. everyone there was very kind and pleasant. All of my labs were good. I made sure to drinks lots of water to be prepared. I finally got through all of the questions and on to the nurse. I was hoping to get a different one of the three working, but no such luck... the same blonde with glasses called me in. I have never donated plasma before, and told her I was a newbie and nervous about it all. She was very cold and impersonal the entire time. I have ADHD, and of course told her that along with the fact that I did not take my medication before I had come, add this to being nervous and her refusing to engage in any conversation so I was tapping my foot and reading the signs around the room in between her asking questions. I commented on how chilly her room was and was just very short with me. I tried to look at my phone and she literally was immediately like "You have to put your phone away" very rudely. I was like, oh ok... because I didn't see a sign or anything and she was talking forever. She finally got to the physical part and everything was fine. I sit back down and she basically accuses me of being on drugs because I was fidgety "the whole time". I was caught off guard by that especially because I had already told her I had ADHD, didn't take my meds and was nervous.... Where did she go to school for nursing and NOT learn about ADHD symptoms? I apologized, told her I was nervous b/c I have never done this before and she wasn't very welcoming and maybe I slept funny because my neck was stiff. She immediately said that I couldn't proceeded. I was confused because literally everything from my blood to my blood pressure and physical was fine, so I asked for clarification. She was like, "You have neck pain so you can't donate". I explained it was nerves and maybe I slept wrong. And she said it did not matter, no muscle pain allowed and made up some bs reason. So I again asked to clarify. I teach middle schoolers and often have knots in my shoulders, and I play volleyball and may be sore the next day from the workout so is she telling me that you cannot donate plasma if I have any muscle pain from exercise or stress? She was very short responding "Nope". I laughed at her and said, "Okay" and left. I reported how extremely rude she was to the front desk. They did not seem surprised at all when I told them who I was talking about and they tried to reschedule me. I also refused to reschedule there because she is so extremely rude and they wasted too many hours of my time. Like I said, I teach middle schoolers so I am used to attitude, but this chick is just excessively rude and makes people feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place to anyone else. I did report the incident on their website but have never managed to get ahold of the manager.

Don't let the previous reviews detour you. Experienced technicians made my experience seamless. Will donate again. Shout out to team members Shelby ,Tara ,the nurse and my check in woman for making it a stress free visit.

Very clean. Nice people. Overall this is a good place to donate plasma. They pay well for the first 2 months.

Every time I have donated I end up with a hematoma. I can't leave the house without a long sleeve shirt because of how awful it is.

Some of the staff is super rude and condescending. I'd suggest going anywhere else for plasma.

This was causing a severe shortage, so I signed up for a Saturday morning donation. The experience was much more relaxing and efficient than donating in the conference room at work. A streamlined experience with better privacy, comfortable reclining tables, TV's with headphones and remotes if you desire and a large post-donation room for recovery with snacks and juice. The entire process lasted 1.5 hours and was pain free with personable staff; even though we were all behind masks. Go ahead - #SaveaLife

Beginning with us walking in, every attendant seemed uninterested and agitated. Both of us felt like we were bothering them by being there to donate. (My attendant warmed up through my appointment and by the end was totally fine.) My wife sat in her room to be checked in for half an hour. I guess they forgot about her - several attendants were standing around and it was only when I was looking for her that they were prompted to check. When they did finally get around to checking her in, no one acknowledged the wait. The nurse marked my arm and hers with the straw technique. I only know it's startling/painful from experience, if I was a first-time donor I'd be caught off guard having not been warned. Initially, my wife's nurse was unable to find a vein. She called someone over to help, who then pointed the veins out. (This is often her experience with less experienced staff, though more experienced nurses typically don't have a problem locating veins). The less experienced nurse made 5-6 straw marks in her arm, but they were on her forearm rather than being in the crook of her arm where one might typically think of having blood drawn. This nurse inserted the needle in to my wife's arm but could not find a vein - rather than immediately asking for assistance, she used the needle to look for a vein WHILE THE NEEDLE WAS STILL INSERTED. As in, the nurse used the needle to dig around in her arm for a vein. When this didn't work, she called a second person over to help who also couldn't find a vein. The nurse then LEFT THE NEEDLE IN HER ARM AT AN ANGLE to go get *another* nurse to check her work. She didn't apologize or address the problem directly. The nurse was going to try to find her vein a third time, at which point my wife started crying and asked to leave. Too bad she is lacking in both skill AND compassion. It will be a while before we donate again and we will never return to this donation center.
