every donation I'm received by a friendly kind staff always in a good mood. From the front office to the girls in the back and the guys. today I experience something I've never seen before. At first I was angry then I got a little scared a donor was very angry and disrespectful to the staff, he was loud and used vulgar languag. my anger turned into fear as I started to get nervous. One of the lead stepped in handle the situation very professionally and very firm. He took control of the situation and I felt very safe. One thing I would like to say, and this is just my opinion you need to look up the definition of donor. You are not a customer. You are a donor helping out people who need the plasma, life-saving plasma. Best plasma donation center I've found. Very nice people who work there and professional. It's very clean. My favorite and only one I love to have as my stick my arm is, Danni!!!!! I just wanted to call the head nurse/ anyone to confirm information for my Wife/partner for my family's safety and our economic well being. Instead of being able to ask my question and go, the lead nurse asked me for waaay to much personal information and then let me know how useless and weird it was to call a place a loved one is going to to check up on information for them. The lead nurse also seems to know nothing about the online portals which keep changing, and if you mention that she'll get mad. Don't call this place if you have anxiety and you just needed to know what to do, and how they'd like it done. read more

The Grifols Center is a great place to donate plasma. Every time that I go in, the front staff are always happy and friendly. The center is very clean and I always feel welcomed here. Recently more than 2 employees were asked to sniff my husband to see if they smelled weed on him. No one smelled anything but he was still asked to leave. This is a invasion of personal space and disrespectful. On top of that y'all have employees saying there was no smell. read more

I had to leave a blood test because they needed to see something. I waited over a week for the results,and i had to call to actually get them, they told me that they received them and that i was good to go, and they even helped me schedule an appointment. I went this past Sunday, and supposedly a nurse told me over the phone that i was good to go, and then i get there, they send me to the kiosk to do the questions, and it was blocked,i go to the counter and they tell me that the they needed a blood test AGAIN. I needed the money for my daughter, i drive all the way overthere and instead of telling me over the phone, they made me go in person to tell me they need another test, that is BS. Biomat does not think in the people that donate, they just see what is more convenient for them, they made me go all the way overthere with a lie just to tell me i needed another test. The google reviews are very fishy. Most of them are first time reviewers and most of the reviews say "how amazing this place is". Looking further into the reviews you'll find one specifically that says that they're paying people to give them 5 star positive reviews to make their Center look good by convincing people that what they do is great. If the reviewers were actual people who have done way more reviews than 2 then sure I'd be convinced that it must be a great center to donate plasma but all the reviews just sound the same and not even one 4 or 3 star reviews they're all 5 star and sound very staged to make this center look good. read more

My son went to donate plasma, and the inexperienced lab tech pushed the needle through my sons vein, out the other side of the vein and out the other side of his arm. My sons arm is swollen, bruised, and the vein is blown! He can hardly move it. I contacted the manager Gordon, and he was full of excuses and not one single apology! I just wanted to update and say that I started donating plasma years ago, I stopped for about a year and then came back. I had some issues with the way staff were treating people decided to come back and see if anything had changed. Few things that I'm upset about are they always take one more milliliter of plasma then they're supposed to I never get compensated for the additional plasma, they also decided that they were going to take away the birthday bonus and only have the Buddy bonus. Buddy bonus is a great thing it gets new donors in I get that but that's not fair to the loyal donors who come in every month and they just get told well you got to have a buddy come in in order to get a bonus bring back the birthday bonus and stop taking an extra milliliter of plasma every time we donate and not compensating us for it. read more

A very generous two stars for some of the staff. I was referred to this location by my brother prior to moving to Bakersfield. With my daughter being a cancer survivor I was more than willing to donate to help with medical advancement along with its incentive it was a great opportunity. However, I can't say that my experiences have always been the best at this site. In the past I have witnessed fellow donors in no position to donate donating ( smelling of urine, etc) I have also noticed some unprofessionalism with staff( cursing at patrons across the donation room). This last experience was what prompted this review. I received a notification after a hiatus from donating that granted an additional incentive from the week of 9/30- 10/06( see attached photo)this of course prompted me to donate again which I'm sure is the reason for the outreach. Apparently the text was wrong because those are not correct qualifying dates which is false advertisement. I donated on 10/3 notifying the staff of the promotion. They assured me that I would be able to use this promotion. On 10/4 I spoke with management (Issac) to discuss the dates only to find out that 10/6 is not a qualifying date and that the "computer " that sends out the promotion does not recognize that the 10/6 date is a new week meaning I wouldn't receive the bonus. I let the manager know that I work 8-5 on 10/5 and that my last donation on 10/3 was scheduled at 6pm and I didn't leave the donation center until 8:19pm. They called me back and I wasn't set up until after 7pm which for a returning donor seemed a bit long to start. He advised me that the center opened at 5:30 on Saturday, I let him know that the earliest appointment was at 6:30 am and he encouraged me to come in. Here I am at 5:40 for a 6:30 appointment. Hopefully the staff is more efficient today than in the past. Moving forward I would encourage others to call to confirm promotions and to have a minimum of three hours to donate at this center which is longer than other facilities in Bakersfield. I referred my mother so that I would get the referral bonus ( never got it) and she has never had the slow service that I have. Apparently she goes to another facility and it is much faster. I sure hope that this gets better moving forward. I actually love to donate for a good cause not just for the incentive however, the professionalism in this center could use a boost. Easy money...let that be the only reason people should come. My first time wait was 6 hours my second was 4 hours. After that it's normally AT LEAST 1 hour and a half (IF YOU ARE LUCKY, meaning nobody in the waiting area....this has only happened to me like twice) Ever time is normally a 2 hour to 3 hours. So have a full charged phone battery, some headphones, maybe a book, a sweater/blanket (WARNING: it gets FREEZING in there. No joke every time I go I bring a sweater even if it's 100+ outside) and a lot of patience. 1st timers $100 that week (as of 8/2016) 1st 2 weeks of every month is $10 extra to returning donations so (first $35 and second is $45) Otherwise first is $25 and $35 for the second. This was my second Time as a New Donor and they Loaded $ 200 the first time and $75 the second time. When it was supposed to be another $200 load onto my Grifols Bank of America Card. The promotion is for 200, 200, 200, 200, 100, 100 for October ! I feel taken advantage of and I will sue them for the other $125 if they do not rectify this Matter soon ! You cannot just walk away, when you are done donating, you have to make sure they are doing their job RIGHT , following the Promotions. You CANNOT Trust them to load your Payments Correctly. The nurse who saw me today didn't at one point make sense. She checked my tattoos $ Piercing page than got on her computer counted 23 piecings & tattoos but Counted 22 on my paper. So she said no we can't see you today or ever because it shows you lied about the tattoos, because it's not showing the tattoo on your back. So you can't never donate. I tried to explain to her that the last time they did my tattoos & piercings count they didn't count two of my tattoos that I had forgot to put down, so may be I forgot the one on my back. She started saying no it's not our fault the nurses here don't forget to write nothing down. So she said never to go donate. I said thank you & she walked me out. It's crazy to me because I got my tattoos at 16 years old I'm now 35 I can't member every stupid tattoo I got. I guess it is my fault, so no more Donating for me. I love to donate at this plasma center. It is always so clean---they take sanitation seriously. Plus the janitor, ***I do not think he works here anymore*** always does a great job. :) The only downside is the waiting time and that's mostly because a lot of people donate plasma. Sometimes you have to wait 30-40 minutes... But 5-10 minutes if you're lucky. Yes, it is really frustrating at times. Especially when it is SUPER busy and the employees are not exactly working... At the end of the day, it does not take too long and you do get paid for donating plasma. The money is helpful, you do help save lives and I love this center! Worst customer service i have ever received ANYWHERE dont you need our help? you want us to donate right? well it doesnt seem like that and your staff obviously doesnt know how to count. they told me to bring proof of address a letter that came in the mail 30 days ago. i forgot to grab something from home so i took a piece of mail i had in my car today being the 30th day since i received it and they want to say its older than 30 days and they cant accept it. I have been unemployed for two months and actually just started working again two weeks ago. I have been coming here while searching for a job during unemployment and during my hiring process. Every time I come here they have been rude and it seems someone in the staff is ALWAYS sick. There is usually 1-3 people coughing almost every minute or two. You would think in a clinical environment like this they would be more cautious or at least wear face mask because they are dealing with placing needles into people's arms after all. But no, there seems to be no real structure present. Well aside from all of that I need money for bills, which I'm sure is the reason why everyone else is here as well. We ignore the poor quality of work here to help get through our bills. Well during my last donation I was poorly stuck with the needle by a lady who claims that she has done this for 20years and that she enjoys the "practice" of side veins. A large bruise has covered the area of where I was stuck and followed to the back near my elbow. This picture was taken more than a week AFTER my last donation. Trust me this picture does no justice in how bad my bruise was. Almost the whole area was purple at first. Do not go here, the staff do not care about you. They will be rude and cough all over you while sticking needles into your arm. Which I'm sure would have to be some type of violation. read more

Unprofessional! My first and last time visiting the facility on 246 Bernard St, Bakersfield, CA 93305. Things were moving fairly fast. While sitting in a chair, I heard a supervisor named Elizabeth Irving plotting with two other workers to harass and sabotage another worker. They agreed this person will quit with enough pressure. I told them that they as well as the company is leaving themselves open for harassment and creating a hostile environment lawsuit. After I made that comment, I noticed that I was left sitting for almost an hour with no acknowledgement of my presence. A phlebotomist told me that I had rubbed the supervisor the wrong way and that is the reason for the extended wait time. I collected my things and left.. but not before I told Elizabeth how childish and rude she was to me. If you choose this location, avoid this lady at all cost. read more

I've been donating on a regular basis whenever I'm in the country for five years now. That will probably stop soon. I've noticed a couple of very troubling long term trends. First is that they are getting very inconsistent about following their own procedures. Some staff will verify information in your chart, some won't. Those that do, seem to be operating by rote and are often surprised when you confirm something that is plainly noted on the chart they are holding. I've seen confusion about which machines can be used at any given time. I don't expect to understand why they require any specific procedure to be performed a certain way. It would be nice if they could take the time to explain any changes but that isn't always possible. I *DO* expect them to be consistent from one staff member to the next. It's getting harder and harder to find two staff members who are on the same page. Second I can best describe as warped priorities. They're trying very hard right now to recruit new donors, spending hundreds of dollars per person to encourage people who can pass the screening to start donating regularly. Yesterday, when they unhooked me from the machine after my donation, I had to argue with several staff members to get them to apply a bandage that wouldn't bleed through before I got to the door. Hundreds of dollars to replace me, but a nickles worth of gauze to keep me coming back is too extravagant? Do I really want people that clueless performing any sort of medical procedure? read more

almost every time I go there's always a worker that mess up my stick. and When doing the questionnaire on the kiosk it ask you "do you accept the cash fee for my time" so there for I say "yes". but if a worker who is inexperienced messes up on the stick then the Donor can not get paid the full amount. how was it the donors fault that the worker messed up on the stick. This place definitely knows how to take care of its donors. The staff are very friendly and even take the time to remember your name and treat you with respect. It can feel a bit overwhelming to donate the first few times but after awhile its awesome and you are helping people and get money for it as well. i have been going for a year and 3 months now and glad to go see them everytime i donate. read more
