The wait times are atrocious. If you have a 1pm apt you won't get home till about 3pm. When management is not on the floor the staff take thier sweet time doing what they want when it comes to seating people. The main issue is getting stuck. Half of them don't know how to properly do it. As a result, the blood clots in the tube and you're now noted down as having blood loss which goes against you. If you've had more than 2 in the last 56 days you cannot donate for at least 8-12 weeks. They simply are so rushed they're doing things half assed. Always very busy and very understaffed. The lines are always over an hour just to get screened, and then almost another hour to get to a machine. They don't have enough staff to even run all of the machines they have available. What's the point of making an appointment if the wait time is going to be so long. 3 stars only because the staff that IS there is, for the most part, cordial and nice. They're just way understaffed. I get it, but if you can't get qualified people, then don't book so many appointments. I'll be trying Octapharma for a while just to compare. read more

Constantly over-crowded and understaffed This place always has a line 15+ deep, but only has one person doing screenings, so that process takes 30-45 minutes alone. Half of their machine are never used because they don't have enough staff. And currently, 1/3 of their floor space is being used to stack cardboard boxes that should be in a storage area. And recently they have added a new feature where, for some unknown reason, they have to measure your height while barefoot. So they make you take off your shoes like you're boarding an airplane. The hospitals will just ask for your height. But Biolife needs to verify it personally. So stupid. read more

From my last review of this place I went back about 2 months after that and then they said I was unable to donate because of my address now this is after I've already donated twice and was refused once read the last email the reason why I couldn't donate was because they said my address was a hotel I said no it's been apartments for a few years now and they argued with me they said if it tells me that on the internet then that's what I have to go by I asked for somebody higher up and she said well I'm as high as you're going to talk to here and I made other complaints online with their company and never got contacted so this is the only way I can let you guys know that even though I got to donate twice already they blew out my veins one time so I had to take it 2 month break because it was their fault but then when I went back they refused me because of my address if they were going to refuse me because of my address wouldn't have done it the first time instead of when I came back after complaining this place is messed up just letting you know read more

This place is frightening, it's so mismanaged. People must be desperate for cash to go here. By the way they pay less than other places. I made FOUR 2 hr rd trips to try and give plasma at this dump. Each time it was oh we forgot to tell you this, or now you need a letter from your doctor, then after I had my doctor complete the form and mailed it to them they "said" they don't open their mail for several weeks! What kind of business doesn't open their mail?! There are other places. I will use someone who knows what they are doing. Less than 1 star! read more

I've been coming to BioLife for a couple years and they're amazing, anyone who says otherwise either doesn't know how to follow instructions or doesn't have patience. lol. Omg this place is not staff enough and they over book which means long waits but the one thing that pist me off is there are some staff that need direction on who been first or waiting the longest . The last couple of times i have come here there were a couple of snags such as being deferred after a machine malfunction but my first time back was very satisfactory. Brenda was an awesome phlebotomist and took great care of me. The nurse that redid my physical did well also. all together my experience was great today. read more

I called ahead of time to verify the policies of the company. I don't feel comfortable giving my finger print. They will not allow you to donate without a fingerprint. What even more frustrating is that I drove 40 minutes to come to my appointment and spent hours on the website and phone verifying information. They refused to let me donate without it. read more

Always pack usually under staffed and on top of that the lines are long and there schedule system is all over the place not organized they don't want to change it why? they show favoritism let certain people skip lines after people have been waiting hours Idk but in the end they know what's the problem the director just doesn't want to do anything about it read more

*WARNING* DO NOT go here. Rude, and combative staff. Lines and wait times are longer than the DMV. I've seen many customers with bruises and hematomas from the carelessness of the phlebotomists. They are understaffed and have a high turnover rate of employees. I have witnessed numerous health code violations from blood on the vital signs counter and blood on the floor. The trash cans are overflowing that are near the donor beds. If you communicate your dissatisfaction with wait times, you will be "deferred" which means you're a blacklisted; it's the managements way of solving problems. I expect the Kern County Health Department to shut this place down and a class-action lawsuit from customers to be filed shortly. If you value your health and safety and time then DO NOT GO Here. read more

I wait an hour in line. Then got seated and waited anther 30mins however they don't go in order . They got to someone who was way behind me so I asked why I haven't still got seen and one phlebotomist told me which ever person the phlebotomist gets to first is who gets pricked first. Today was my third visit to this location. I have yet to give blood or plasma. I attempted in March when they opened. It was a total cluster. No one knew what in the world was going on. Wait times were ridiculous. I get it they are newly open, so I waited to come back in June. I figured the kinks would be ironed out. I was wrong. I had a 10:45 repeat appointment for annual physical. Nope, I am a brand new donor. I had to wait 30 minutes to actually talk to someone, then get partially through the intake to find that after standing and waiting for 30 minutes my pulse was 114 taken off a blood pressure cuff not pulse oximeter. there was only one technician for 15 people waiting to donate, new and returning. I know physical's take longer. I get it. However, this is a man agent issue. I was excited that Biolife was opening here as we had just moved in August. However, after today and talking with Chris. I can say i will only be going to Red Cross and giving Power Red to them. This experience is to me indicative of how the customer service industry is going to H*ll in a hand basket. read more

Now that is way to long i think management needs to take out some appts and NOT EXTEND there hours because your setting yourself up for failure. Having to make an appointment is intended to prevent you from getting that new donor promotional money. Appointments are hard to get on the dates or times you want. Im surprised they haven't been sued yet. Even when your healthy, eat right, dont smoke or drink all of the sudden they find a way to defer you to another day ensuring they'll never have to pay that new donor fee. read more

I have nothing but easy experiences when donating plasma at this facility, the staff are kind hospitable and management cares for service. The two phlebotomists who drew my blood Michaela and Brenda make sure I'm looked after and eased my nerves when I mentioned my dislike of needles. This care is appreciated immensely and would recommend if anyone were to donate. read more

I don't understand why the donor screeners weren't trained to change their gloves every single time they are finished with a donor. They are working with blood. I work in medical and seeing this happens makes me wonder who trained the donor screeners. The women's bathroom is closed. We have to go into a separate room that has an extra bathroom. When I went inside of it, there are no toilet seat covers. The toilet paper roll dispenser was empty. The toilet paper was laying on the floor due to the fact that the person before me obviously didn't know how to open the toilet paper dispenser to replace it. Which is understandable if you've seen it. I had to open a new toilet paper roll because I couldn't bring myself to use the one that was sitting on the floor with no wrapper on it. This place is fairly new. I hope they step up their game because I do like the donating machines way better than the other donation center. They are much more updated. It does take a while to donate due to the fact that they are lacking phlebotomists. read more
