(They also have pretty nice incentives like free fair tickets or to CALM). The staff that poke you do it so swiftly that it's practically painless too! I've always been so afraid to get my blood drawn from one of my arms because I've had horrible experiences in the past where my arm has infiltrated / become so bruised at other places (and they've told me I was a hard stick lol ?!), but they get it every time I'm here!

The wait times are atrocious. If you have a 1pm apt you won't get home till about 3pm. Half of them don't know how to properly do it. As a result, the blood clots in the tube and you're now noted down as having blood loss which goes against you. If you've had more than 2 in the last 56 days you cannot donate for at least 8-12 weeks. They simply are so rushed they're doing things half assed. Then, they come and start twisting the needle in your arm trying to find the vein.

So, I understand its a control substance but they couldn't move forward till I got a Dr's note and I said I could show them thru my Kaiser app that that medication has been discontinued.. Soo I just left came back 3 months ago and they still have me in the system blocked from being a doner because of that issue. They said I need a Dr's note I processed said ok would do i didn't want at first because its a hassles to get an appointment and pay a copay. I had another question because my insurance is under my husband's last name and not the one in my DL. They said they would need my marriage certificate.. ‍ I mean I understand all the requirements and what not but Ive see literally over heard two girls that looked not too healthy talking about lying in the application and im here beeing honest and they they're giving me all this run arounds..

They make sure it's safe for you to donate with through screening process. will say a few things I would say that I think should be a bit better is the line for screening since at times there are huge lines at the start of the day with with only 2-3 screening booths open. Another thing is that when it comes to samples every 4 months they'll call you to come in for a sample retake, which is fine, but never any notification that your sample was good and you can continue to donate which can be be stressful at times. but besides those two things I've always have a pleasant experience here over the 4 years of donating at this location

I'm nearing in on 4 gallons. I love that they take good care of you while you are there. They have yummy snacks for after you are finished. The facility is always super clean. They also might provide swag, gifts, or opportunities to sign up to win things in the community. Today we are receiving KC fair tickets. If you're looking to do a good deed, check into seeing if you are eligible to give blood (or platelets) and help your community!

This was my first time coming inside since they are offering two free tickets to the kern county fair to whoever donates. I made my boyfriend donate haha! It's a very big facility , very clean. My mom and boyfriend went with the employees and I waited in the little snack room. It took like 30 minutes, my boyfriend said it was very easy and they handled him with care. They even gave my boyfriend a little pin.

my iud removal quest: my appointment was at 9:15 am on a Friyay, i got here at like 8:20. i was out…read moreof there by noontime-30. it takes a while but it's a clinic not McDonalds :) bring a book or a crochet project or whatever brings you joy :) i checked in, waited, tv was staticky, they called my name, paid the piper, waited, moved from lobby to a different waiting room and did a pregnancy test, i think that's depending on what you're doing or standard procedure idk, wait again, go over paperwork, wait again, change into a gown that barely covers the booty and proceed to the procedure room. anyhow, that was my experience with my waiting process. i got my iud removed here successfully and replaced a few years ago. fast forward to a few years later i am back to have it removed. beforehand, i had an appointment at the Tulare location and she couldn't see the strings so she used some other mouskatools to try to go for the gold but no luck. the pain was so bad i thought i was in hell :/ i was so distraught and in pain that for the second appointment here in bakersfield (after a scheduling conflict, i had to reschedule again for the Friday timeframe) i was like hellsnah "someone sedate me" (cristina yang voice) so i opted for the iv where i was so out of it, i don't remember them removing it or feeling any pain whatsoever, but i was still awake. cool huh? i didn't even bleed one drop, unless i did and i don't remember. i do remember her showing me the iud, maybe for trust but verify haha or unless i dreamed that. the staff was fantastic, everyone there was just wonderful especially Zena, i remember the iv wasn't hitting me fast enough and i started freaking out (just breathing rapidly, nothing wild haha) and i remember she was calming me down and she was just a delight and really stood out to me. this place has great staff that have a lot of patience and help you be in a calm state of mind. it's a must for a place like this that offers extensive services. a pleasant experience is important and all of the staff at fpa really took great care of me.
