The folks who conduct the exams and collect the plasma are great. That said, on the third visit, I wasn't paid. I called. I went back. I explained to them that I hadn't been paid. They gave me another new Visa card. Incorrectly assuming that everyone had done their jobs I left happily go spend my $100. Guess what? Zero balance. So make sure you've been paid before you leave the premises because you can't assume that anyone there is doing their job correctly. read more

I really tried with this place. Everyone there is so rude and power trip patients. I was doing my physical with the Dr for about an hour and as I walked out I was drinking my water, I got told I couldn't drink water in the donor area so I paused to hear and finished sipping my water and told her I wasn't aware of that. Then I got told by another lady "she just told you, you can't drink water here so why did you continue" because I'm thirsty ?? I just said I wasn't aware I don't know why two people are telling me the same thing I am not a child. I'm an adult who wanted to donate to help others in need of plasma as I struggle with my health and know how it feels to need certain medical care. Every time I went in to donate for the past year, all the ladies are rude and don't know how to insert the needle properly. I came in for my second plasma donation and unfortunately had a really unpleasant experience with an employee named Savannah. From the start, she spoke very quietly and gave incomplete directions. When I asked her to repeat herself, she responded in a rude tone. For example, instead of saying "please show me your arms and elbows," she just said "arms and elbows." Later she said "scale" without explaining, and when I asked what she meant, she just repeated it louder and pointed. As someone still new to donating, it made the process confusing and uncomfortable. She also accused me of "lying" on my questionnaire but never explained what was supposedly wrong or how to correct it. If I made a mistake, I would have appreciated a clear explanation rather than being left unsure. The worst part was during the finger stick. My finger started bleeding quite a bit, and instead of changing her gloves, she wiped the blood with a tiny alcohol pad, which only spread it more on her gloves. Then she continued handling supplies and even set up materials for the next donor with those same contaminated gloves. That felt extremely unsanitary and unsafe. What makes this more frustrating is that my very first donation here was completely different. The staff member who helped me on my first visit (she was retiring that day) was kind, professional, and spoke in full sentences so I knew exactly what to do. I left that first visit feeling comfortable and cared for. This time, I left feeling disrespected and worried about hygiene standards. I work in healthcare myself, and I would never treat patients this way. Basic communication, respect, and clean technique should be the bare minimum, especially in a medical setting. read more

I was recommended by a neighbor tenant where I live, which is at the Rio at 3300 rio Mirada Dr .I have a lease I am not on low income or any type of program.thia is not a sober living,just an apartment that fits my budget as I am currently attending Bakersfield college.Because of the address I gave the woman at the orientation on weds Jan 14 I was denied the right to donate simply because she told me there is alot of things or elements as she said that happens where I live..funny the person that recommended me to Biomat usa plasma on 246 Bernard st is a white male and lives 2 doors down from me.why was he not denied and I can tell you racial discrimination is alive and strong thanks to ignorant people like the employees at biomat.news flas you screen everyone for STDs , diseases and where you live should have no weight on your acceptance or being denied.I am bringing this to the attention of those like me who have experienced discrimination.thia is a huge alap in the face as I have struggled through drug addiction,prison,and a rough life.i make no excuses I owned it got my life right and I am attending bc college and working.dont let this deter you from speaking out when discrimination happens to you shame on biomat I am filing a claim with the better business bureau tomorrow and hope this keeps them from abusing people because of where they live read more

Christina is the most unprofessional employee I've ever met anywhere. First, in an extremely rude tone tells me to "get away from her window" and to go take a seat doesn't tell me why or for what reason. Wasn't until I asked another nurse why I had to sit there that she approached Christina to ask why which is when she (Christina) proceeded to lie to her colleague about what I was there to do even though she never asked me to which her colleague corrected her as to my actual reason for visit since Christina couldn't be bothered to ask. Finally as I was being helped Christina called me a liar twice and insisted I get my information correct before I come in. Genuinely embarrassing behavior from a medical professional. I don't know what's going on in her personal life that leads her to treat clients like this but she should be as far away from clients as possible. read more

I have been a donor for a couple months already, i enjoyed coming here since the some of the staff was great and the facility was always clean. Well this past weekend i had a appointment and they pulled me into a room. They had said some hurtful things to me that are not true. It was unbelievable news to me knowing that the accusations were not true and that they know of this thru a 3rd party.I have emailed the company on the Grifols website and have tried to email them also. I would love to speak to the medical director of this facility. I would love to file a complaint against anyone who is making false accusations about me or my life. The team lead Stella will harass you if you don't make her feel like she is superior to you. I came here a couple years back and was treated the same way by Ms Stella. I'm officially sitting in my car crying because she yelled at me when I was leaving. I was a little upset because I just sat there and waited and they told me my veins are "too small". From my first encounter at the front desk, to the moment I was put in the chair for the plasma donation, everything was beyond impressive. Staff is knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. I especially wanted to give a shoutout to RN, Paul. In spite of the place being overly populated, he made it a point to move me along smoothly and even remembered my name. Service has gone down. Some of the staff are amazingly kind but there are a few that are unfriendly. But that happens every where. One thing I have noticed in the past two months is the time it takes now. On the average between 2-3 hours for a simple donation. The duration of time has doubled. Why is there such a relatively high turnover of staff? Also why are you not staffing adequately to accommodate the volume of appointments? The last concern is when your front counter staff has you sit until your scheduled time and your told they will call you then they forget about you. This is completely unprofessional. Seems like there on it when it comes down to safety because I still feel safe since the COVID outbreak. I too had problems with one of the staff making an inappropriate statement to me when I first donated. I advised management and have had no further issues. As a first time donor, I was nervous yet excited to be able to help others and get compensated for it. When I first arrived, it was about 2:00 pm on a Saturday. The staff was able to fit me in even though I was a new donor (the process takes longer if you're a new donor). Each staff member that I encountered was very friendly, engaging and helpful. When I completed the screening process, I went to the donation room and got set up. About half way through my donation, I was feeling dizzy and nauseous. I let one of the nurses know and immediately, five other staff members came to my side to give me Powerade and a bag of chips. They also gave me half my bag of saline and I instantly felt better. They said as a first time donor my body is not used to the procedure. I was able to finish my donation and receive my payment (a credit/debit card) on the spot. I finished the entire process around 5:00pm. I'm happy to say I will be back for future donations! read more

I came to this facility referred by a friend. If it's your first time do not bring anyone under 18 years of age because they will not allow you to donate or stay. I never donated plasma before and was slightly nervous and scared so this review will be for first timers. Upon arrival I was greeted and told to fill out paper work and read a binder regarding donating plasma. My picture was taken and veins were inspected. After a short while I was told to watch a short video. I was then given cup noodles, lays chips and a Powerade. I did give a urine sample aswell. Blood was drawn to check my iron levels and pressure. Personal Questions were asked and a physical was done. If you have a marijuana card you will not be permitted to donate, although those who don't have have a card and smoke can however only if you haven't smoked for 1-2 weeks I believe. You do get bonuses on referrals so if you're new and want to help out a local, write down Juliana Gonzalez Anyways it's a good way to make money if you have the time. New donors take 3-5 hours depending on staff and donor count. Returning Donors 1-2.5 hours. read more

I had never donated plasma before and tried to get myself as informed as the website allowed. I called about wait times bc i knew the first time included a physical. Lady who answered told me 3.5-4 hours. OK cool. First time in there I walk in at 6am and leave after 11am. Fine not a big deal, they can't control how many people show up as the first time is on a walk-in basis. So I make my 2nd donation appointment for 2 days later... 2nd donation-pretty easy check in process, including having a nurse look at my arms, about 20-30 minutes before I sat down on at a station. I sit down to begin and am told I will have to leave as I had a bruise on my arm. A bruise I had from the 1st donation. I was disappointed but I understood. 3rd time, I waited until the bruise was completely gone and made my appointment. Signed in, sat down, and waited... for 20 min. 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The lady tells me I can sign in at the back kiosk, kiosk tells me I have to talk to front desk. Lady informs me that "oops sorry I forgot all about you, nurse has to talk to you about that bruise".. sit back down for another 15 minutes. At this point I had to leave. She told me make sure I come back with plenty of time bc I would not be able to donate without talking to a nurse and well.... they dont know ANYTHING about how long it will take or how it will affect my donation. More frustrated than anything. I am a struggling student, I work full-time and pay tuition, coming out the facility 2x and having to leave is a major hardship for me, they could have told me at either prior visit that there were going to be issues and it would be a waste of time to come in. I was excited about doing this and now I'll never ever do it again. read more
