I completed the full new-donor process: questionnaires, videos, vitals, and finger-prick screening. Everything was professional up to that point. At the final step before the physical, staff required an electronic signature on a signature pad for the informed consent. When I asked to see the computer screen so I could actually read the text I was being asked to sign, they refused. I then requested a printed copy of the document. Staff told me the only option was to first sign a form requesting my personal information; they would then take a screenshot, print it, declare that it matched the screen, and have me sign the electronic pad. This still required me to trust their declaration without being able to independently verify the content. Because I could not review the actual language of the agreement, I was unable to give genuine informed consent and left without completing the process. The following day I received a call confirming that Grifols will not change this process. Informed consent requires the ability to read what you are signing. A system that blocks that basic step is unacceptable for a medical procedure. Other potential donors should know this is how the consent process currently works at this location.
