For a gfree foodie, I wish I could clone this place nestled inside Outer Range and plop it right where I live. I'd be there at least 3X's a week. We went there twice on our week vacation which says how much we loved the place. Everything on their menu is gfree except for their sandwich. Their version of fried chicken is different but in a great way, crispy and light. I also had their ahi poke bowl and their bird bowl on those 2 separate occasions. It had authentic and balanced flavor. I enjoyed how the "tots" portion of the poke tots was actually fried gluttonous rice balls rather than potato. It was chewy, crunchy and delicious. The microgreens atop the dish made it refined and tastier. The bad: I was expecting a larger portion for the price. Located inside Outer Range Brewing, they are in a great spot. The atmosphere is that of any other awesome taproom, which makes for a great place to enjoy some food and a beer as well. These guys are doing fried chicken, for the most part, paired with some Asian-inspired sauces. The chicken was great, well cooked, crispy, and delicious, but the sauce is served on the side and really doesn't compliment the chicken very well. I expected the chicken to be tossed in the sauce, but in the end, I was glad it wasn't, as I enjoyed the chicken without any of the sauces. We tried several of them, and none of them elevated the awesome chicken. I really wished they had more traditional fried chicken sauces to choose from. Maybe some southern/cajan options, as I think this really would have made the experience five stars. One of my favorite places to eat while up in Frisco. I try to make it for lunch every time I'm up in the mountains. The set up is inside Outter Range brewery through the front entrance there's an ordering counter with a short but bold, flavorful menu. I typically go with the bird bowl- crispy boneless thigh, sweet pickles, herbs, crisov shallots, lime, honey sriracha glaze, scallion, rasmine rice with your choice of sauce. I recommend the bird sauce- it's definitely on the spicy side but, SO good if you can handle heat. The bird bowl is a personal favorite but, you really can't go wrong with anything here. Once you place your order they will text you when your food is ready and will be waiting for you at the counter with your name on it. You can take it togo or sit anywhere. The venue of Outter Range is super cozy and has options inside, upstairs, outside, tons of choices. I swear the food somehow gets better every visit-- 10000 out of 10. I ordered the fried veggies and tofu and they were shockingly delicious. Usually veggie options at meat forward places are meh, but the tempura veggies and tofu over rice were killer. I had a couple sauces and I got so full I couldn't finish my food, which is extremely rare. So many places give you a small portion of a veggie option (similar to the size of a meat portion) but the thing about being vegetarian is you eat a much higher volume of food when all you have are vegetables. The Chicken Sandwich was well balanced and gave a very tender piece of chicken with a really nice crunch on it. Balanced well with the slaw in the sandwich. The sauce was not too hot, but very flavourful. The Poke Tots were awesome - but the fried rice balls should probably be half the size. Get half a rice ball, a bit of poke, and some sauce/guace and eat it all in one bite. Super tasty stuff! Pickles are home made.... home - pickled? Some nice heat and flavour to it. Tasty! Came to Outer Range brewing for a few beers after a winter hike and was thoroughly impress with the beers but the food at Bird Craft which is in the facility was as equally if not more impressive than the beer. This Thai-ish fried chicken mash up was a little too spicy for my liking but, those that can handle the heat will be thrilled. I got the sriracha lime Mayo as my sauce in the side but since the breaded chicken had sirarcha on it it was a bit too much. Could have done without the sriracha on the chicken and just used the sauce. Next time that's what I will do. read more

Best fried chicken, definitely in Summit County...all the way to Vail, Beaver, etc. Have not managed to try any in Denver yet so to be fair, as much as I want to say that the fried chicken at Bird Craft would kick the chicken-butts off any of the fried chickens in Denver, I know I just should not. Do not be deceived by this little window that fits just the order counter inside of one of Summit's very nice brew pubs (great outdoor sitting area, a rooftop and even the inside counter top seats are fun). The papaya salad is a good side to have with the fried chicken (i always go for their super spicy firebird sauce), we've had the pork belly rice too which is very delicious as well. The guys at Bird Craft are always so very friendly, very helpful and super efficient. Located inside Outer Range, Bird Craft serves up tasty Asian inspired rice bowls. They were super friendly and accommodating. Our girls wanted plain tofu with rice- not a problem! The tofu was lightly breaded and lightly salted on top of white rice. Perfect for the girls to dip in soy sauce. My hubby had the poke bowl with spicy shark sauce and I had the tofu veggie bowl with their Siracha sauce. Those Fresno chilis pack a spicy punch! Bird Craft fries up some delicious fried chicken. They are prepared Thai-style with a crunchy and crispy rice-flour coating and accompanied by pickled cucumbers and Thai basil. Don't sleep on the latter: pinch a basil leaf and chicken skin together and prepare to be wowed! We also like the papaya salad and pork belly fried rice. My only complaint: what happened to the OG fire sauce? It used to this amazing concoction of Thai chilies and fish sauce. Hot as hell but perfect to go along with the fried chicken. We weren't expecting to find food Thai food in the area, but this was a lovely gem of a find on our way back to Denver. It's located in a food market that also has a brewery. The chicken wings were delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my green papaya salad and Tom kha. We'll definitely come again when we're in the area. I feel torn reviewing Bird Craft. I want to keep it a secret, but also want to share it with the yelpdom. Since you're reading this, my need to share has won, and it's my 300th review! Bird Craft is located within Outer Range Brewing in Frisco. With the COVID-19 pandemic, seating is limited but there are a few tables outside in the plastic enclosed area, a few on the brewery floor as well as some upstairs. If you happen to get a table, please don't linger longer than you have to. Other people should also get to sit and enjoy their time there. The bottom line is this place is amazing. The fried chicken is out of this world. Their Tom Kha Gai was a little sweet and the poke tots were awesome. With the fried chicken, you can get any of a number of sauces, with one included and $5 for every sauce. I've had probably four of their sauce options, and I'd recommend the firebird or sweet chili sauces. The poke tots are good, and include a nice portion of tuna and just a handful of actual tots. It is all smothered in what I think is a mayo based sauce. Delicious. I've also had the Tom Kha Gai soup, which I thought was a little on the sweet side. I've yet to determine if that is because of altitude or if restaurants at altitude make their foods too sweet. Anyway, if you get this, be careful not to tip the bowl much because the containers are not water tight and you'll have a mess on your hands. The Thai tea is ironically, not that sweet and tastes amazing. It was just the right balance. Unfortunately, I've been doing Dry January, so haven't been able to pair any ORB beers with the dishes. Since Outer Range opened in Frisco, I haven't been to another brewery in Summit County. Their brews speak for themselves. However, while food was nearby, it wasn't on-site until Bird Craft appeared post-renovation. Last weekend, we had an extended pit stop at ORB after brunch. After a few rounds, no one was hungry, but I made sure to order some takeout for dinner, perhaps the best choice of the weekend. We had the half fried chicken, served atop jasmine rice with peanut sauce on the side. Thai fried chicken was new to me, but earned my loyalty within a few bites--at least as good as Korean, not as good as Mom's. Crispy, light skin encases juicy, flavorful bird. Flawless victory. I don't put sauce on fried chicken, but he peanut sauce was tasty on rice and pork belly chunks. The pork belly fried rice did not disappoint. It was chock full of meat, though the portion is a bit small for the price, as others have noted. I'm usually left disappointed by pork belly dishes, but not this one. The pork was robust. The rice was not greasy as I'd feared. Delicious! Keep in mind that these dishes were reheated almost two hours after I left Frisco. That makes this endorsement even stronger. With the addition of Bird Craft, ORB has secured its monopoly on my beer/food cravings in Summit. The brews and food on site are peerless locally. read more
