We were particularly happy with Hyde - our server, and enjoyed our drinks and meals. My guest struggles with mobility - and we had a bit of rush to navigate activities in the hotel, and Hyde graciously assisted us with transporting ourselves and purchases to 'lobby event'. It was a rather big deal for my friend to make the event, and it was only possible because of the graciousness of Hyde. We went with fish tacos and steak sandwich and loved both. My partner and I came in just before noon on Wednesday (3/10) and sat at the bar. The bartender working was Ben, and unfortunately the experience was one of the worst examples of hospitality we've encountered. We sat there for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged while Ben clearly prioritized people he seemed to know personally. During that time he served guests who arrived after us and even started doing prep work instead of checking on us. Eventually we had to ask him ourselves if we could order drinks. When we did, Ben responded with a sarcastic and rude tone saying something along the lines of, "Sure, I can grab you drinks if you want them, but first show me IDs." We had unfortunately left our IDs back at home. That part is completely fair we understand you can't serve alcohol without identification and we accepted that. However, immediately after this interaction, another group of people who appeared around our age (we're in our 30s) sat down and Ben served them alcohol without asking for ID at all. When we asked him about it, he simply shrugged and ignored us. We then asked if we could at least get a Red Bull, since it's non-alcoholic. Ben refused and walked away. When we asked the other bartender if she could grab one for us, Ben came up behind her and told her not to serve us because we didn't have IDs even though we were only asking for a Red Bull. Thankfully she was kind enough to help us anyway. The most shocking part happened shortly after when one of Ben's friends came in. Ben began talking negatively about us right in front of us, calling us rude? Within earshot while we were sitting at the bar. When we confronted him and asked what the issue was, he threatened to kick us out of what he called "his bar." We asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation. The level of rudeness and unprofessional behavior from Ben was honestly shocking. Ignoring guests, being sarcastic and dismissive, refusing basic non-alcoholic service, and then openly insulting customers in front of them is completely unacceptable in any hospitality environment. read more

The ambience is spectacular - located at the base of Peak 7 ski area with views towards Peak 9 and 10. The background music is quiet enough to talk over. Our server, Gabe, was friendly and helpful. She even made chocolate milk for the grand-kids. The food was well prepared and pretty generous for ski-town portions. The stuffed French Toast (Nutella and Banana) is delicious, and the Mountaineer burrito hit the spot! read more

A bit "Spendy" but this restaurant is in a lux resort with incredible views of the slopes (Peak 7) No complaints whatsoever the food was definitely elevated from "traditional" tavern food. I got the House Salad with Chicken. Fresh ingredients, love the Frisée in the salad and the Roasted Shallot Balsamic was next level. There was definitely some thought in curating their cocktail menu, I got the Bluebird. I especially appreciated the garnish but it was the special block ice that really made me smile. Sad they were out of the Pork Green Chili Soup. This was the stand out on their menu and why I decided on this particular restaurant for the evening. I get it tho, it was dinner service on a Sunday evening.... The weekend crowd hitting the slopes certainly got there first. Husband really enjoyed his meal of chicken wings, and even tho the wings are a dry rub he did note that if it the wings had anymore moisture to it the dry rub would have become a sauce. This is very hard to do... he also got the Cobb Salad with Steak. He got to choose the temp of the steak which was a very nice touch. The food was so delicious and definitely did not disappoint we stayed for dessert. We got the Apple Bread Pudding and I got a dessert cocktail "Deep & Fluffy" it was sublime. I am a HUGE fan of Raspberry paired with chocolate, especially as a hot chocolate. Add Peanut Butter whiskey and a dollop of whip cream. What a treat! All in all there are no negatives and no real critiques. Bar Down Tavern certainly delivered a solid meal. Just be prepared to spend for the ambience and Slope Side Dining. IMPORTANT NOTE: Parking is a bit of an unknown. If you are not guests of this resort, we found out that we had to go in first and ask the Concierge directly for a parking permit to park on site for free. So there is that to consider and nowhere on the restaurant's website did it offer this important tidbit of useful information. read more

our second visit in two days and it definitely did not disappoint. They have live music every Sunday. We got to experience Maureen on the violin and she was fabulous. Apparently, she has a residency here and brings in a different musical partner every weekend. as usual, the food and service was terrific. Lonnie, our server was attentive without being intrusive. It was no problem for us to sit after our meal and enjoy the music. Hubby got a pepperoni pizza and reported that it was one of the best. I got the mushroom burger and it was huge as well as delicious. Also highly recommend the sweet potato tater tots. read more

Had steak sandwich, wife had chili(she's celiac) and adult son had grilled cheese/tomato soup. I tasted all 3... They were very impressed as was I . The food was fresh, presentation was great. Cocktails were great too. What was next level was the service. They took time to make sure everything was safe for my wife, but were also super attentive to the in rest of us. My wife and I are so pleased with the new and improved restaurant at Breckenridge's Grand Lodge on Peak 7 . We were hesitant to try it because the previous restaurant ,Sevens, was not very good but we were pleasantly surprised last night. We had a steak sandwich and wings and they were delicious and the service was prompt and friendly . This is a whole new restaurant , highly recommended! read more
