Birds Nest has the best wings. Hands down. They are always super crispy and fresh. They have a few different sauce options to try, but I would say they have fewer sauces then most other local spots. Service has always been very nice too. They also have several games you can play- darts, pinball. Definitely a sports bar vibe!

Went to the Birds Nest in AH for the first time after being a long time fan of the Lincoln park location and was so happy I did. I was worried the wings wouldn't live up to the OG location but they definitely did and do an overall awesome job keeping the food quality consistent with the other location. They know people who are long time fans of Birds nest might not be able to frequent the city as often so it's great they built a suburban location that is also a bit more family friendly. The service was great- our waiter constantly checked in on us and even made me a cherry coke even though they don't have it on tap. We got the wings, Cajun fries, nachos, and southwest salad. Everything was really good except for the nachos which were just meh. Will definitely be going back on the regular!

Fantastic family-friendly sports bar with friendly staff, great service, and delicious food at a reasonable price. All burgers and sandwiches come with a side and the fry options are plentiful--regular or curly, offered in a variety of flavors. The wings are big and also have a variety of flavors. We liked the honey BBQ. And the sandwiches and burgers are huge. They have the best white bean chili and chicken tortilla soup. Definitely something for everyone!

I was excited that a location opened in the suburbs so that I didn't have to drive in the city but man was I disappointed... Once you walk in, there's a sign that says "please seat yourself" so its basically a free for all. No organization at all. People were fighting & arguing over tables as they opened up. Mind you the place is pretty small and its incredibly loud inside. There should really be a list hanging somewhere so there can be some sort of organization. Also staff did not acknowledge the group of ppl waiting by the door at all.. The food was very average and not worth waiting for. I was impressed the food came out in 15 min considering how busy they were. Majority of the wings were dry, hard, and with little meat on them. Wing flavors are limited too. The sides we got were good though, just very greasy. I will say this looks like a fun place to watch sports and hangout if you're lucky enough to grab a seat. The community seems to enjoy it alot but there is room for improvement.

My chicken strips had no flavor- had them with birds nest sauce. But even worse they were so overcooked I could even cut them with a knife.

It took a while to give the server our food and drink order and were were never told about their Daily Specials or offered any water. We ordered the potatoe skins as an appetizer and I wanted to try their chicken wings since they were on the menu as a Wednesday Special for .99 each Unfortunately our appetizer came out almost at the same time as our entrees. The skins were huge but overcooked. The wings were good in size but I should have gotten the sauce on the side as they were super soggy. It came with ranch dressing which I didn't care for at all. Our server never followed up with us after he brought us our meal as I would have asked for blue cheese dressing instead. If you are going to meet up with friends or watch a game,Draft Picks is an ok Sports Bar but certainly lacking in food quality.

My husband and I ordered the boneless chicken wings and steak tacos because those were the specials on the menu that night. The boneless chicken wings had a really bad flavor to them. The garlic parmesan wings had too strong of a vinegar taste. The barbecue boneless chicken wings were much too peppery and not enough barbecue flavor. I bit right into a big piece of gristle or cartilage in the steak tacos. The cheese, lettuce and tomato added no flavor to the tacos. The last item we tried was the French fries because I thought that they would be safe. I was wrong. There was no flavor to the fries, not even salt. The trivia was fun and our server was nice but I will not be returning to Draft Picks!

There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. They have a nice brunch menu and drinks to match and I want to try them out someday. Let me know if you're going and I'll meet ya there if available.

If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!

Do you understand how rare this is now? Restaurants have all decided that iced tea should arrive naked, joyless, and unaccompanied, like it just lost a custody battle. Alex, however, understood civilization. She brought the lemon. At that moment, I decided we were getting married. I don't know her political views, credit score, family history, or whether she even likes me. None of that matters. She brought the lemon without being asked. That's wifey material. The menu is a little more yuppie than I normally tolerate. Hot honey this, roasted garlic aioli that, truffle fries lurking around the corner waiting to add seven dollars to your bill.
