second time coming to sports page since I really enjoyed the food the first time I was highly disappointed especially it being father's day weekend the food was terrible. not sure if the oil wasnt changed or what the issue was but the fries were overcooked and dark and the chicken also was super dark and dry in the wrap. I mentioned about the seasoned fries being bad then got a new batch of tator tots very small amount that was even worse for 2.99 upcharge its a joke. i would think the waitress would have more common sense than to bring even worse food to the table. unfortunately I wont be going back spent almost $100 for poor quality meals and tipped too much for crappy service. read more

Went there tonight; have been going there occasionally for years. Food is $$$ for what it is (basic non-memorable bar food). [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went more for the small section that has crane machines with rubber ducks & tiny basketballs in them as well as a basketball hoop. This was a small area the kids could decompress in while waiting for their food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately we found out tonight that this area is intended for adults per the owner. My kids (who are far from perfect but were NOT out of control) were scolded and came back to the table upset. No attempt to communicate with us was made. Against my better judgement, I'll chime in on the Traci, Cathy and Jeanne saga as we were also in the restaurant part of the time, though not part of the same party. My take is that reality probably lies somewhere in between the two accounts. What I saw was a group of 3rd - 5th grade boys playing as you might expect kids of that age to when presented with a gaming area with claw machines and a FULL-SIZE basketball hoop. My kids were included for part of the time and yes, I did need to tell them to keep it down and to shoot only, not attempt to play 1-on-1. These are good kids and sure, they have a lot of energy and like any kid that age, they can get carried away, especially when in groups. Jeanne and Cathy - you have every right to want to enjoy your meal in peace, though it feels a little "high and mighty" to be telling what I know to be very involved and disciplined parents (and coaches) to "take some parenting classes". If you're going to tell me that your kids never got carried away at that age, then I'd say that you've completely forgotten what it's like to be in that stage of parenting life. Of course, it's easy to claim you were a perfect parent decades later. Also, which one of you was it that parked in the handicap spot, hung the placard on your mirror despite not having handicap plates, and briskly walked into the restaurant without any limitation whatsoever? We arrived at the same time as you and were worried that someone might show up who actually needed to use the handicap spot. Finally to get to the actual establishment, Sports Page - my experience is that the food is generally quite good and the wait staff is capable and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Funny thing is that I was just mentioning to my wife yesterday prior to all the drama noted above that my main criticism is that for a place with a fair amount of kid-friendly amenities, they seem to have almost no tolerance for kids using this area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have trouble remembering a visit where I didn't see a group of kids (most having no affiliation to me) asked to "keep it down". [[HIGHLIGHT]]My take: Sports Page is probably better suited to do away with the kid's games. It appears to me that they don't really want/need business from families, this would probably make their older regulars very happy, and it would open space for more seats[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Then, parents and sports teams could check this place off the list and go to one of many places that actually does have interest in entertaining kids/families in the 21st century. This is a rebuttal/opposite perspective to Traci F's review on 12/27/24. She is a parent that has undisciplined young boys and tries to portray otherwise. 1. After finishing our dinner, paying the check, and letting the boys play on the basketball hoops the staff approached us with a shocking level of rudeness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Apparently, elderly customers complained about the "noise" of three boys enjoying the hoop game--at a sports bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Instead of explaining to their older clientele that this is a family-friendly establishment with activities for kids, management chose to side with the complaint in an incredibly disrespectful manner toward families who have supported their business for years. We've brought teams of 15+ kids here in the past, appreciating the local support for Arlington Heights youth sports, but that goodwill is gone. If management has decided to cater to a quieter, elderly crowd instead of the vibrant, family-oriented community that has kept them in business, they should make that clear. Our families will no longer support this establishment, and we'll be sharing our disappointment widely. It's sad to see a place we once loved lose sight of what made it special. We were traveling and wanted to find a sports bar to watch the Chiefs preseason game. They have several TVs with different sports. Now, for the food. It was so much better than our expectations! There was four in our party and we ordered just appetizers. We started with a large order of wings and onion rings. Both were great! We then ordered potato skins and a small order of wings. I have been going to Sports Page since the mid '80s. We would go there after our softball games on Wednesday night after beating the Gatsby's girls softball team. This place had the best wings and nachos by far. When I moved to Mount Prospect, I bragged about SportsPage, their wings, Nachos and at there with our kids often. I've also ordered trays of wings from them for parties. That's how good they were! Last week I went to SportsPage with a friend just to hang out have some bar food and talk. We ordered the buffalo wings and a half order of nachos. I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the food. They were horrible! The wings seemed to be on steroids, they were not cooked to their crispness, there was a lot of skin and it was very rubbery and not enough buffalo sauce. The nachos were disappointing. I could make better nachos! The beef were little beef cubes. I don't know, what it was!? Maybe SportsPage has changed purveyors or have a new cook/chef, but I have to say I was extremely disappointed. We left pretty much everything but paid for it. I am hoping the owners see this review and can correct and rectify the quality of their awesome wings and nachos. Sad to say, I don't know how soon I will be back. read more

The BBQ chicken tasted like there was no seasoning, then boiled, thrown on the grill to give it one grill mark, then doused in barbeque sauce. That said the new owner is a major asshole, I just witnessed him yell at a table for using too many napkins after a drink was spilled. "You just cost me 5 dollars in napkins" is not a normal thing to say to your customers. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and I have a pretty "healthy" appetite, but the nachos are ginormous and I usually end up taking more home than I eat. The owner just berated us for questioning the difference between our receipt and the menu prices. Haven't been there in a while and didn't realize that prices went up but that menus were still the old ones. I know prices have gone up but didn't think that menus weren't changed. He said it cost too much ($600) to change them and that they have a tiny note on the bottom that states "prices subject to change". He accused us of yelling at the waitress when we asked to see a menu, which last time I checked, asking to see a menu doesn't equate yelling but whatever. Really embarrassing for the owner to come over and yell at us for questioning the prices. If they are that thin skinned then they are in the wrong business. Plus waitress came to our table maybe 3 times and that was when we had to flag her over. read more
