Ms. Dotty is just the bees' knees! The establishment is always clean, as well as there is always available washers and dryers. This place is the only laundromat I've found that has a machine big enough to wash my king-size comforter, and it not have to forced in. Always a pleasure talking to Ms. DOTTY. read more

The lady who owns it was very nice to us. But also very particular about how we and every customer were using her machines though kind and courteous about it to us. We are a middle aged white couple. Then I witnessed two black immigrants come in to do their laundry and she was so awful to them. Rude. Short. She even flat out told them their language barrier was a "real problem" for her in the rudest tone. I felt so bad for them. We will not return. read more

I went to Bird's to wash a load of laundry on 10/7/17 and I am glad I did. The machines aren't the most modern, nor is the decor the most newly remodeled. The prices are typical. What makes Bird's a worthwhile place is the tiny longhaired Dachshund with the H U G E personality who runs the place. When I walked in, this little girl bounded across the floor in the back and hopped on the front counter to assess who had entered her palace. After checking me out and determining that I qualified to pet her (apparently I passed the test), she proceeded to lay across the counter, requesting a belly rub in no uncertain terms. Insecure, she was not. The man working there (possibly the owner) explained the dog had been enjoying her lunch in the back but had to rush out to check out the new person. He showed me pictures of her and talked about her antics with a gleam in his eye. It's apparent she gets her share of adoration. :) Perhaps you, too, may be qualified to pet the Royal Highness of Bird's Laundry. read more

So this happened.......only giving a star because I have to so I can post. Today while at the laundromat the washer that I used had taken two quarters of mine. I went to the shop owner and told her about the situation and she came over, tried to fix it, and advised me that she couldn't fix it and that I would have to move washers. She looked at me irritatedly and asked how much she owed me. I said $2.00 and she said how. I said because we already put 6 quarters in and it took 2. The machine read 8 and it takes 14. Plus the 2 that were stuck in the machine. She threw the 8 quarters on the top of the washer and huffed off. I was like it was not a good place to be in and decided to just leave. I put my clothes in my basket and proceeded to gather up my supplies and my 6 year old daughter. The laundromat owner then comes up to me and my child and yells,"You aren't going to use the washer!!!" And I told her no and that we were leaving, I can wash at home. She proceeds to stretch her arms out blocking the walk way and says "You are NOT leaving until you tell me why!" I looked at her and I said I am leaving and you aren't going to do this in front of my daughter. She then says, "She can leave but you aren't going anywhere!" I was flabbergasted. I thought surely if I walk she will move her arm and let me pass. She didn't, while I was walking by she held onto the washer and tried to hold me back. Words were then exchanged back and forth. She called the cops on me and demanded that I leave. My dogs linen was in the dryer. I told her that if she gave me my money back I would take my clothes out and leave. She said she wasn't going to so I waited until my clothes were dry and the police arrived. He told me to file a complaint with BBB. While we were leaving, she looks at my child and says,"You are such a sweet girl and I am sorry you had to see that." Totally crazy!! She has cameras in the business and I am sure if they work then the entire situation was recorded. read more

The old owners were nice and friendly, but now a new women took over ownership and she appeared to come off racist. I only say this because when a person of color would come in she wouldn't speak to them but would go up to all the white people thanking them for their business. I used this place when my machine was waiting for a part I paid 800 for each machine, and the attendant was telling me how to do laundry anyway, I added all my bleach and detergent and oxi clean to the whites, and when they were done, it was like the machine must have stopped wringing in mid cycle because they were soaking wet, and not too clean either, at home my whites are very white, so 25 dollars for half clean clothes? I think it is a strategy to run up dryer costs..wont go there again read more

Owner yelled at me because I asked about the washer not starting. I had not pushed the latch all the way down. Never going back. If I am paying customer (who comes in at least once a week), yelling at me in front of everyone is a good way to insure you've lost my business. read more

Terrible laundry mat. Despite living within literal walking distance of this laundry mat I hate going to it. It is run by a little old lady who is quite rude. There is a definite difference in the way she treats customers of color versus white customers. I'm sure you can figure out who gets better treatment. Usually if unavoidable I send my white girlfriend to do laundry to not deal with her aggression but today she yelled (quite unprofessional and completely unprovoked) at my girlfriend because my girlfriend asked for help. She said "How many times do I have to tell you and everyone else to close the door." I would be more willing to understand her frustration if she had ever once even spoken to either of us about such an issue with a washing machine door (also a seemingly fixable problem not warranting abusing your customers who are already paying over priced coin laundry fees and I mean overpriced even as far as laundry's go). We had already put our coins in but when our wash finished we promptly collected our clothes and went down the road to be treated like human beings. I will never return to this laundry mat under any circumstances. Also after we were accosted by Miss Dottie, a different customer who was about to start a load asked if bed bugs would be killed by the driers so it's probably infested now but i'm not an expert on infestations. read more

Absolutely the worst coin laundry place ever! As soon as I walked in, I was greater with a snare from what seemed to be an employee or manager. She then proceeded to tell me that I better be back in an hour or they will close early. So I proceeded to pay the outrageous price to wash my clothes in a washer to bigger than microwave. Absolutely the worst place I've ever been to!the staff is Unprofessional and rude and the service is WAY over-priced! I've been to other laundry mats that are 1/3 of their cost! Under new ownership. Super helpful and nice. Clean quiet facility. Plenty of machines of various sizes.

I went in there Friday at around 6pm, it was empty so I asked if they were open. The little old lady who seems to be the owner said yes, however, the guy proceeded to tell her this was her 7pm night so unless she wanted to stay longer it wasn't a good idea. Mind you, they have multiple signs in front of their store that reads they have the right to refuse service to anyone. I just found it very odd and felt very uncomfortable with the whole situation and how it went down. Needless to say i will not return. read more
