Nice clean place. I felt safe but I went in the day time. Drop-off $1.25 a pound. The machines take coins only. The top loaders are being phased out since the coin loader were either covered or pulled out together. There are two sides of the place and one side has older cissell dryers which also look like they are being phased out too. So 11 new Huebsch dryers in perfect condition. read more

The worst laundrymat. Dryers dont work. Go elsewhere because you'll spend 5.00 trying to dry 2 queen size sheets and they'll still be wet. Terrible place to take your laundry. Truly most machines out of order, taped up. Thinking this guy is an immigrant getting tax dollars to fund this business and he is a fraud. read more

I was hopeful for a good experience after reading reviews on here but couldn't make it inside. I pulled up in front of the doors maybe 10-15 minutes before the business opened and remained in my car. I was peering through my windshield through the front door to see if any of the machines accepted card and the worker came over and made a point to make sure the door was locked and looked me right in the face while she did it! I was in my car and just looking from the drivers seat through the window, give me a break. I wasn't expecting her to unlock the door early but I also wasn't expecting her to point out the door was locked and give me a look as if I'm some dangerous person I just wanted to wash my laundry read more

I recently moved back to Louisville after working and living out of town for several years. Plus I moved to J-Town, which a part of town I've never lived in. I have a very demanding job and schedule, and I do have a washer and dryer, but I need to replace my dryer cord- it won't fit. Anyhow, long story short, I've been working 65-70 hrs a week since moving into my new place and my laundry finally got out of hand. I loaded it all up and gathered some change and figured I'd have to spend quite some time at the laundromat- I've used drop off services before and not only were they typically really expensive (2-3 dollars per lb where I was living previously) but I wasn't impressed with the service. So I planned to just make half a day of it and get it all done. Well I got on Yelp and read some reviews of local and nearby laundromats, J-Town Coin Laundry was the only one that had no bad reviews (that I saw) so I headed there. We'll much like the review I read, the people were great when I arrived and I saw that their drop of service was only $1.25 per pound! So strictly just because of the good reviews and not wanting to have to be there all day, I utilized the drop off service- I had a massive hamper, bigger than a kitchen trash can, stuffed to the rim. I took it in and they weighed it, asked if I wanted fabric softener and gave me a ticket. I had mostly T-shirt's and jeans and a black jacket I wear when riding my motorcycle that had dead bugs and crap all over it from a ride at night- not only did my laundry look and smell like my mother had done it, they obviously went the extra mile on the jacket- it looked like new, was on a hanger and covered with a plastic sleeve. The rest of my clothes were very neatly folded and bagged back into my hamper, and I believe they even clean out the bottom of my hamper!! The total was $31.80!!! I don't know how they make money, but at that rate, I may never fix my dryer!! I don't usually post reviews or recommend places other than restaurants, but I was just sooo impressed with everyone here at Jtown coin laundry and I HIGHLY recommend them, especially the drop off service. What a very nice experience I had today at J-Town laundry. It's a family owned place and the owner's mom Sherry helps her son run the laundromat. Expect to be greeted by a very friendly and helpful face. When she asks questions about what your washing, be sure to give her the details. There are several machines of various capacities and prices. She will give you a recommendation on which will be the best for the laundry you brought in and which will be the best value for your money. Consider her your "Laundry Concierge". When she saw I had whites and no bleach, she added bleach for me. When I mentioned I had a new dark shirt and the color might bleed, she offered a color catcher (which I gladly accepted). She was even able to tell me how long my wash loads would be (30 minutes in my case). While I was there, she offered a man a hanger for a nice cotton shirt he had. She also came to the door to greet another customer and then held the door open so he could get all his laundry inside easily. And just as I was typing this review, she came out to my car and offered to put softener into the wash to make my clothes smell extra nice. There were lots of other nice details that you will find here like hangers or little plastic dishes to hold your coins from the change machine. I didn't need the drop off laundry service, but I'm pretty certain you will get you clothes back as if your mom did your laundry. How perfect is that in a college town? After talking to Sherry a little more, I found out that she uses the tip money she gets to help pay for all the little extras I mentioned before. I would have tipped her anyway for all her advice and "tips", but now I will give a bit more to pay it forward. I'm sure all the staff here are great, but if you are looking for Sherry, she mostly works week day mornings. Sherry told me it was nice to offer to write a Yelp review, but it wasn't necessary, but I told her it was not just to tell people what a great secret find this was, but also to help people like myself unfamiliar with the area. I hope this review helps, particularly for folks like myself who are from out of town and rely so much on Yelp reviews. Hopefully others who read this review will have the same great experience and share info about their visits with a Yelp review for this place. Can't recommend this place enough!! The smaller washer I tried to put my clothes in didn't work so I moved to the larger washer which was probably the better choice to begin with. $5.25 and was fast. I then put my belongings in the dryer set for 45 minutes. After 30 minutes I decided to check to see how things were going and everything is still wet. Not damp.. WET! What's going on here? I usually just drop off my things- I thought that I would save money by doing it myself. I'm just going to go back to using the drop off service! ‍ I switched dryers and it stole quarters too! EDIT: The man who worked tonight (07/21/2019 between 6p- close) was spewing anti-Muslim/conspiracy/weirdly Christian bs and I flew out of there as soon as I could. read more

welp.. came here based on recommendations that i saw here on yelp... great for washing.. today.. not so good for drying. good number of the available dryers were down. the other place.. which shall go un named, was smaller, but had all of their dryers working. first impressions are everything. this first impression, not so good. read more

I came here for the first time today. We've tried a few places since our dryer pooped out... I came here after reading a review for Fern Creeks laundry. It was so much nicer than the others I've been too! The building is a bit old but the owner was friendly and helpful and the machines were all in great order and worked very well! The owner even put a few extra minutes on my dryer at no charge when my clothes weren't dry after the first 25 min! (I did them on low to make sure no shrinkage occurred) Overall the place was really well maintained and the service was great! I will definitely be coming back here!! read more

To start off the lady was super rude and not helpful at all. I had paid for 30 minutes on a dryer and when I went to get my clothes the dryer was completely cold and the clothes were soaking wet. When we told the lady about it she didn't do anything at all (offer to refund our money or even label the dryer out of service.) The whole place is falling apart . And we will not be returning again. read more

Location is pretty good and in what seems to be a safe area of town. It can get pretty busy on the weekends but Monday-Wednesday seems to be a good time to get laundry done in a timely fashion. Upkeep is modest and pretty clean! The coin-operated machines are of a fair price. The change machine accepts denominations up to $20 which is pretty convenient. They also provide a drop-off laundry service that I can see myself utilizing as well in the future. My only real gripe with the place is that they currently have more machines out of order than I would like, but that can of course change in the next weeks or months to come. read more

Under new ownership they keep it very clean and are very helpful very nice people and the new owner is also a very beautiful blonde with a great smile makes me wanna wash cloths more often read more
