We had heard great things and decided to try it out to celebrate after our daughters dance recital. They sat us and no one came back to check on us. After 10 minutes we finally flagged someone down and as he handed us he menus he said "are you ready to order?" Which of course we were not and asked for a few minutes and some waters. After a few minutes we waved to our server to indicate we were ready and although he was standing along the wall he gave us the "just a minute" finger. We waited another ten minutes at which time our kids were crying and so we just got up and left. Extremely disappointing and honestly the worst service we've ever had. I want to start out by saying, this is my go to Thai food place that has the best food - I've been going here for several years. Ever since they recently expanded the restaurant, they have been understaffed and unprepared for the number of guests flowing in. I'm a big fan of the original manager, but not the new manager that was working tonight 10/30/22. We were sat at our table for an hour and a half. Our server never checked in on us once and received one refill of water. We discovered another table was served our food by mistake and we were left empty handed due to the long wait for the food. The manager never came to our table to apologize or make good with the situation so we walked out. Terrible customer service tonight. My family & I love this place for the food but the service has always lacked. Today was the icing on the cake. Due to lack of planning on the servers end they rushed us out the door to accommodate for their mistake. It's hard to enjoy your meal when you feel rushed by the wait staff. The service was quick and efficient. I got the pad see ew level 7 spicy. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked. There wasn't the traditional brown Thai sauce but it was still good. This restaurant might be trying their best but it falls way short. Called in an order and it was an hour. I was okay with that. I arrived and hour + later and was told they have no idea when my order would be ready. I asked within a half our? She said I cannot guarantee that as there were over 10 groups waiting for their meals before. One guy,Adam, had waited for 2 hours for a single bag of take out. The restaurant itself was 1/3 full at best. There is something seriously wrong with the management/ownership of the restaurant. I was in town for vacation and ordered via DoorDash. The egg rolls were the worst egg rolls I have ever eaten. The curry noodles with chicken tasted bland and just gross. I like the food, but they need some major customer service training. I have been here four times total and each time the service seems to get worse. The first time, we chalked it up to them being new. But each time their servers have been a little but more dismissive and our visit last night was by far the worst. First of all, they always seem to be one or two people short staffed. Then, when you check in, there is no clear host stand and no way to find out how long the wait it. The staff literally does everything they can to avoid eye contact with you. It's insane and has happened to us every time, even when it's not a busy night. Once sat, it's like pulling teeth to find someone to take your order. Prepare to see a lot of people around you get up and try to flag down a server to take their order or bring the check. It's a crazy way to run a business. Last night, we had a reservation, and waited 15 MINUTES in the front before anyone would even talk to us. Then, they would not give us a time frame to seat us, and we finally got pointed to (not led to!) our table about a half hour after the reservation time. There was another family there waiting for their take out order - they were told a pick up time and the woman was literally timing how long after they had waited after the pick up time - it was 45 minutes. Not only would no one give them updates but when they finally went to the bar to tell them to cancel the order, the owner (or manager, not sure) was actually arguing with her about how long it had been! We were amazed. A simple "I'm sorry" goes a long way in the restaurant business, but no-one there seems to understand that. Overall, the food is pretty good, but not good enough to watch customers get ignored or treated poorly. Hope they will eventually learn how important it is to treat people better. We love a good neighborhood place, but we are done with this one. read more

Best Thai in San Diego. Yes, I said it. I dream about their drunken beef noodles and pad Thai. The restaurant is small but nice and the service is good too! They ask you what level spice you want (I love spicy food) but the 5 out of 7 was still too hot for me. On weekdays you don't need reservations but it's busier on the weekend. Amazing delightful restaurant that offers authentic and delicious SE Asian cuisine. They also offer wild shrimp, grass fed beef, free range chicken and organic vegetables! Seeing as how this was a new Asian fusion place in North County, we decided to give it a try. We thought that this place had to be good because we did have to wait about ten minutes before being seated. We ordered a couple bowls of pho and curry noodles along with some beers. The food came out quickly, but our server did forget to bring us our drinks initially. The food quality was subpar as my curry noodles did not have as much flavor. The pho, I was told, was lacking in meat and was bland. Unfortunately, it wasn't justified by the prices either as these noodle bowls were quite expensive too, at least compared to places in Convoy. My favorite Asian restaurant, perhaps ever. We ate there twice this week. The food is healthy and incredibly good. Favorite dishes include pho, Phad Thai, Phad see ewe, and Ban CEO. Start with crispy calamari and end with coconut gelato. They are busy every night, but the wait for a table and then for your food is really not bad at all. He decor is clean and warm. I love their food but customer service is definitely lacking. I called in an order for two simple entrees and they said it'd be ready in 30 min! When I arrived the food wasn't ready yet which didn't seem like a big deal but then continued to wait for a total of 1 hour and 15 min for my food. When double checking on the food the person at the counter didn't apologize. Honestly, if I didn't ask about my order I don't know if I would have ever gotten it. I cannot stay away from this place. It is so delicious. First off, there is usually a wait. I haven't ever had a crazy, long wait, but there is usually a wait, even on week nights. People love this place. The wine selection is great. I don't drink beer, but my friends love the beer selection as well. I love that they have so many vegan options!! The spring rolls are bomb. A friend of mine loves their chicken satay. The vegetarian pho is really good, and I've heard from my husband and close friends that the beef is also delicious. They have this chili oil on the table that is out of this world!!!! Seriously, they NEED to have this stuff for sale. The pho is soo good if you put that chili oil on it. Went there for lunch yesterday and it took about 1.5 hrs to get pho, fish curry soup and calamari for 2 people. This place was really decorated well and had a great atmosphere. The calamari was pretty good and the sweet chili dipping sauce complimented it well. Overall the beef pho was decent, plenty of meat, needed some help with the flavor but that's what the chili sauce and oil are for. The fish curry soup seemed a bit cold and the fish was over cooked. In all honesty I wanted this place to be a lot better. But I've never ordered pho and have it take so long and have no one address this to us as we waited. This is why I gave it the low score. Stumbled upon this thai gem after endless yelp stalking. Simple but great decor. Decent service. Fresh food that taste clean, without chemicals. Not large portions but also fair prices for what you get. The chicken house soup is perfect if you feel under the weather. Broth hits the spot. The yellow curry is flavorful, but not the best. Chicken pad Thai was also good, but not too memorable. The standout dish was the house fried rice with crab. We were also so hungry that my photos are half eaten plates which I think is the best compliment that it looks so good you can't wait to dig in. If, like me, you can never decide what you want to eat, come here. They have both Thai and Vietnamese food in a Leucadia-vibe upscale atmosphere. Despite splitting their food focus, this restaurant manages to do it all, and well. All the food is fresh and well presented, and they have many interesting fusion dishes in addition to classics like Pad Thai and Pho. They also serve wine and have a decent list of craft beers. Hadn't tried this place so I thought its would be fun to go with a friend and see, we ordered a appetizer to split it was the crepe for $14.00 which is spendy for a appetizer but we went for it, so it arrived and looked amazing but inside there was 1 raw shrimp cut in half, Bean sprouts and ground up pork. We sent it back, which they made awkward ... we still had the drunken noodles with chicken coming. We've eaten here four or five times since discovering it a few months ago. The food is delicious and the ambience is on point. Our favorites are the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew, the curries are delicious and the curry noodles are an interesting and tasty (apparently Laotian?) twist. The Pho is simple and plain but tasty, the fresh organic ingredients are a big plus. They also have a solid beer selection. It's always packed in there and they do seem a bit short staffed, but everyone is busting their butts and making it happen. read more

Food is decent but not worth the poor service! Great beer and wine selection. My issue is really more with the service. You don't get the warm and fuzzy here even when they aren't busy. I literally had to flag down our waitress and ask for water the check... It's really transactional despite probably having a lot of regulars here due to its location. It's the only Thai be within walking distance in the neighborhood. If you are meeting friends close to the 5, I would say this is a good location and make sure to arrive before 7pm. That's the rush.
