First night in Moab, tried Birdy's. Cool vibe, good drink selection, good service. Burger (we split)- good flavor, fries were larger and crisp. Salad with goat cheese and grilled chicken (we split)- good, better if the chicken was warm. Cocktail selection was good- tried the special - 'du jour' of the night and was delicious- like a cold apple cider with a kick- cinnamon and ginger. Apple crisp - good, thin sliced apples. Absolutely delicious food! We are annual tourists visiting from a big city, so we are spoiled with access to delicious food, sometimes "good" is just normal for us. But this place wasn't just good, it was amazing. We started with the focaccia bread with compound butter. The butter offerings change, our selection was spicy peach, roasted garlic tomato and vanilla cinnamon. They were all so delicious, but my favorite was surprisingly the garlic tomato. I had the filet, with roasted potatoes and broccolini. I don't know if I will ever order anything else from the menu there because it was all perfect. Others in our group got the short rib, and loved it. The lobster Mac, and the open face prime rib sandwich, which were all yummy and well prepared also. The caramel carrot cake was divine! This is a great addition to Moab if you are looking for a more refined meal. I can't wait to come back next time we are in town. read more

Came into Birdy's with so much hope, and it started amazing. The space is beautiful and the staff, our waitress, were beyond great. We started with the house made sourdough focaccia, and 3 different compound butters, and holy wow!! This bread is incredible! Came out soft and hot, and all the butters were amazing! Strawberry, blackberry, and a garlic chive! I will dream of this bread! We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese as an appetizer, and it never came out. When we were halfway into our entrees our waitress came to check on us and we reminded her of the Mac and cheese, she apologized and brought it right out. The flavor was great, creamy and Smokey, just needs more lobster. For our entrees: Steak - was cold not cooked per our request. It was expensive so we were disappointed Open fave short rib sandwich- just okay Veggie plate added salmon, this was delicious Overall, food was good, but expensive, both steaks were not cooked well and was cold. Birdy's was such a treat to find in Moab. When we first arrived, I wasn't expecting really any fine dining spots, so I was shocked to see this one. I was very impressed with the ambiance considering this used to be an old Denny's. We came in on a Saturday night around 7:30 to eat dinner. The food was incredible from start to finish. Everything tasted fresh. We especially liked the misto salad, the short rib and salmon. Our waitress spaced out our dishes well. The drinks were very tasty and perfectly balanced. I would have liked them a little stronger, but I think that is unfortunately just how Utah is. The service was very good and personable. At one point, our waitress was tied up with another table for 15 minutes and they comped one of our appetizers as a thank you for the patience. While Birdy's is new, I do think this will be a staple in Moab going forward. It was refreshing to have a spot worth eating at while visiting. Definitely recommend. read more

This place is an absolute delight which begins when you enter the space and smile at the pitch perfect decor. (The background music is great too). The bread board is the stuff of dreams and I don't get excited often by focaccia ....this focaccia is special. The burrata is perfect. There is a lovely selection of entrees that will match your speed no matter what that may be. Sandwich....the hatch chili steak sando is lovely, steak is a possibility too or a salad...my husband said his bowl had some of the best vegetables he's had. Don't skip dessert or cocktails. We were passing through on our Mighty 5 road trip and were not disappointed to have our first dinner in Moab at Birdy's. The restaurant was pretty busy but not loud. The decor was memorable and very well thought out. It is exactly what you imagine when you hear "Finer Diner". The chicken was super tender and delicious. My initial impression when I walked in: diner, posh, speakeasy-ish, chic but the cherry on top was the warm and welcoming greeting by Rachel. What an absolute sweetheart. Moab is brand new territory for my wife and I so we were very delighted to stumble upon a gem like this. If I recall correctly, we ordered the salmon latkes - the potato pancake was cooked to perfection and the smoke salmon quality was quite delicious, chicken lollipops - a must try! and a side of sweet potato fries - I'll hand it a participation trophy. Don't know how it happened but we dined there for nearly 4 hours. Likely due to our wonderful server, Erin, and the ever-so-fabolous mixologist, Ciera, who was throwing it down behind the bar and among other things. Besides the cocktails, the wine selection is great too! It blew my mind that I could go as flamboyant as top-of-the-line A5 wagyu but also get something as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich. Foodies as a term for my wife and I is an understatement but we will always set the people that create & serve everything at the very top. If it wasn't for them, we might as well just eat at home. Apparently this used to be a Denny's previously and the interior foundation looks like it, but the renovations make it look like an upscale retro-diner. Server and Waitress were friendly. It was busy but the wait time was only 10mins. We had ordered 2 drinks the Hey There Pilgrim was a sweet bourbon drink. The espresso martini was simple but still good. The autumn salad was good and we were able to substitute the cheese with feta. My wife really liked the short rib, the beef fell right off the bone. She wasn't a fan of the squash purée but that was personal preference. My New York steak was medium rare as I ordered and the broccolini was really good, the mashed potatoes were nice and buttery. I'd say some of the pricing might be a bit much like bread and butter being $16 or the 6oz filet being $65. But the drinks, New York steak and short rib were well priced. read more

This place is amazing! We went here out first night in Moab because it was right next to our hotel. We walked in and were already impressed by the decor and atmosphere. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. We both got the burger and it was by far the best burger I ever had. Far exceeded our expectations! We also got the bread board starter, each "dip" was fresh and tasty with the fluffy bread. Plus, our drinks were perfect! My wife got a red wine which she loved and my drink was tropical and refreshing which is exactly what I was looking for (I cannot recall the name but it was the first thing on the cocktails). Lindsey our server was incredibly welcoming and so informative about the menu and the specials. She was great to have mini convos with when she came to our table and was a delight to have. One of the owners came up to us as well and she was great! We ended up coming back two days later before we were headed back to Colorado and even the second time around it was just as great! I got the short rib and my wife got the Adult Grilled cheese. The short rib was fall off the both delicious! I also got the non alcoholic Kolsch which was great and we loved the non alcoholic options. Our server the second time around was just as great! Friday night "Date Night" in Moab. Birdy's Finer Diner is located in a converted Denny's restaurant- reminded me of an old Friendly's, actually. The inside has beautiful finishes throughout. Staff is friendly and attentive. Coincidentally, our bartender was from a town in the same area of CT that I'm from. During this trip, the world just seems to get smaller!!! The food was delicious & nicely done, despite that I had ordered my steak medium rare & it came out medium. It was still juicy & delicious. I pointed out the situation, but said it was still really good so I would go ahead & eat it. Jon had the short rib dish and thoroughly enjoyed it. I neglected to mention that we started with an appetizer of Burrata with beautiful heirloom grape tomatoes with two types of pesto. It was DELECTABLE! unfortunately, we were so eager to dig in thst we neglected to grab a photograph. To make up for the temperature issue on my steak, they provided us with coffe and dessert - a scrumptious, housemade gluten-free brownie wth ice cream- on the house. I'm going to say my review rating went down as the evening went on and here is why. The lovely hostess was very nice, complimented my partner on her dress and got us seated right away at a nice table. The waitress that then came to wait on us seemed friendly but once our orders were taken didn't really seem to care about us anymore. I say this for 2 reasons, I got my drink, drank it and it was empty sitting there, she walked by multiple times until I asked if I could see the drink menu again. Then a different server brought it. Then I had to ask her again as she was walking away from us a, separate time, if it was possible to order a beer. Then at the end, instead of offering us dessert, she just came with the bill. It was a special occasion and it just didn't seem like she wanted to make it special. For a nice restaurant I would suggest putting up a fence to block the distracting traffic view. It just makes it feel like a side of the road diner, you could easily block the traffic and still show the tops of the beautiful red rocks. The food was good, I was going to give it it a 4/5 until the service honestly kind of made me angry. Like don't you want people to get more drinks and order desserts so the bill is higher and you get a bigger tip? Doesn't seem like rocket science to me. We were only friendly to our server and she was honestly fine, just fine, but inattentive. We had the butter board which has really great bread and tiny amounts of pretty good compound butter. I would double the amount of each butter. The burger was ok, a little too well done, could have used cheese and maybe something else to elevate it, I mean it's that kind of restaurant. Fries were awesome. The Short rib was pretty good. I'd say order the fries and the bread. If you are charging higher end prices, make the experience higher end, across the board. read more

We planned on a date night based off of a recommendation and overall, we had a great time given the food and the backdrop. There was just a slight "meh" to the experience that had us talking when we left which isn't what I had hoped for at the end. For fantastic food, we cannot compliment the chefs in the kitchen enough. We ordered their short rib, autumn salad and a side of their sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and seasoned just right. What interestingly stole the show was the bread....I would go back to the restaurant just for that. Highly recommend ordering a side of that. The only thing that could have been better was the interaction with our waitress & perhaps the experience would have been better if there were more staff on hand so she would not have been on edge? I acknowledge you're dealing with a dinner rush and stressed but we just did not love that amidst our conversation of needing to discuss food sensitivities, for which she was more than happy to share about her food allergies, we were cut off in convo and told "she can't chat" and proceeded to try to recap what we ordered to move on. We got that same vibe too after paying & it just made the service experience feel a bit off. It seemed that she was happy to share in conversation if she was talking but would check out if we reciprocated in convo. For this reason, I would give this location a 4 out of 5. Amazing for food but needs a wee bit of improvement on the dining experience to have completed our evening. read more

Very weak for $16. Disapointing. Butter spread, $26, came with a ton of bread and very little butter.,what there was was tasty, but it was skimpy and overpriced. Real problem was the Hen Party of 12 in the room that made it almost impossible to converse and enjoy dinner. We would have asked to be moved but everyone was trying to get out and we felt bad for the waiter. I would not come back.
