I remember going to Birraporetti's in River Oaks many years ago. Honestly, I've missed the place. A friend invited me to lunch here. I ended up ordering a pizza which was delicious. The food came out quick and was piping hot. The staff were very friendly. Apparently I must have come in on "regulars" day because the waitress knew everyone by name. I love this. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating and the decor includes "history." I wish I didn't live so far. I will definitely look for a reason to visit again. read more

Their brunch is basically a bunch of pasta items that are on the usual menu. They add some pizza that didn't look all that fresh. They should probably make smaller ones and make them more often instead of just letting it get old under the heat lamp. They do have an omelet station and I believe a waffle station which I liked very much. It hurts my heart because in 1991 I took my homecoming date to the Birraporetti's in the Village inside the 610 loop in Houston. Back then, it was perceived as pretty fancy and excellent. read more

Our party of 7 had reservations for a Tuesday night. It was my husband's birthday celebration and our first time there. We were seated right away , greeted and our drink orders were taken. After that, service was very slow for all other steps. It is a very noisy place...very hard to hear the people you are sitting with even before the music started. So deducting one star for service and noise. Rest was top notch. We all had side salads which were good. Hubby and I shared a medium pizza which we really liked. This place rocks! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this location not too long ago, and experienced an amazing atmosphere with welcoming servers and hosts. The food was perfect! I had gotten their pasta poretti (recommended by our attentive server Raven) and it hit the SPOT! Even the manager/bartender swung by each table and asked if our service was up to standard - which it was beyond that! I recommend any family or couple to experience a night out at this delicious one stop shop for anything italian! Birra Poretti's in Houston is a fabulous restaurant. The branch in Friendswood does not belong in the same league. If I owned Birra Porettis I would cancel the Friendswood franchise immediately. We are very fond of the Houston location, so tonight we took friends to the Friendswood location. There were several problems. 1) They have a "rock" band made up of 70+ year olds who confuse volume for talent. This is not conducive to a nice evening dining with friends. 2) We got our initial drink order fairly quickly, but a second order took 45 minutes, when we finally canceled it. 3) Our meal order was taken; one couple ordered a pizza, the other two couples ordered meals. The pizza came after 45 minutes or so but the meals never arrived. When the couple with the pizza was nearly done eating (and we still didn't have our second drink) we canceled everything. 4) I went to the front desk and asked if the manager would come to our table and was told yes, sure. He never arrived. we finally paid for our drinks and left. As I was leaving I told the guy at the front desk that the manager never showed up at our table. He told me the manager on duty was the bartender (the same bartender that was so far into the weeds that we waited 45 minutes for drinks that never came). I went to the bar and told off the manager/bartender and when I left, I'm sure he and his buddies at the bar (who probably never have to wait for a drink) had a good laugh. I pray I don't get food poisoning. I rarely send a meal back and even more rarely do I write a comment on the check or a negative review, but here it goes. I ordered the beef medallions, shrimp with linguini Alfredo on the recommendation of the server. Mistake. The beef was mushy and tasted spoiled. When I sent it back to have the beef removed, the server proudly brought the plate back and told me they were going to "give" me two shrimp. The Alfredo was tasteless; Olive Garden's is better. And when it came time for the check, there was no adjustment to the $36 meal. Disappointing is an understatement. read more

It serves great Italian food, mixologist quality mixed drinks, a great wine selection, maybe the best waitstaff in this area, and they provide some interesting musical entertainment regularly. Went to see the Elvis impersonator (who was great!) The waiter wasn't very attentive and we had to track him down for anything we needed. We asked beforehand if we could do half and half toppings on a pizza and ordered different toppings on each half. Upon getting the ticket, we saw that we were charged for each topping individually. After explaining this to the manager(?) the waiter sent over, she explained that we got all of those different toppings and were charged for them. I told her that we had asked beforehand and that we didn't get FULL extra toppings, just HALF servings anyway. She relented and acted as if she was doing us a favor. The pizza crust was so thin and oily the it had to be eaten with a fork, not picked up. Won't go back. read more

I ordered a Medium Mushroom Pizza togo the other night. This is certainly one of my top favorite pizzas down South. It had some NY vibes to it, but maybe a bit more garlicky. It was a very delicious, moist, good quality pizza that wasn't too greasy, too sweet or underdone at all. The crust was tasty and like a pita bread in a way. The red sauce was very tasty, kind of tangy holding a little sweetness at the same time. Very good tomato base. The cheese was very tasty, savory and fresh. The mushrooms were very tasty, soft, well-cooked into the pizza adding some extra substance to the rest without covering anything up. Awesome pizza all the way. Great, friendly service as well. Ordered online line to pick up. First time. Ordered the seafood sampler for appetizer. The crab cakes unfortunately were way too salty, could not eat them. The calamari breading was a bit too heavy and small in size. They were tasty though. The grilled shrimp were great. The tomatoe sauce was a bit too thick and like spaghetti sauce. We stopped in for brunch last Sunday, and it exceeded my expectations. We hadn't been in since before the pandemic. It's a buffet for $22 per person. It includes tea, coffee, and soft drinks. You can also order a pitcher of peach Bellinis or mimosas for $22. The food was delicious. Caesar and Greek salads, lasagna, boiled shrimp, prime rib, fresh broccoli, chicken in a mushroom and Alfredo sauce, pizza, eggs Benedict, waffles, and the best omelet I've had in awhile. Great local bar and Italian Restaurant. Has multiple TV's for sports at the bar. Dining area is great also. If you like music, they have weekly groups that play oldies with real instruments like guitars, saxophones and trumpets. They also have an Elvis guy frequently. Same staff for years for the most part. Food is consistent all the time. Lynn, John and Nazareth keep everything running at the bar and keep staff on track. Biraporetti's was very delizioso!!! First time visiting this yummy Italian restaurant and I'll definitely be back. I enjoyed the bar atmosphere as I was waiting on a friend. Bar tender was extremely nice and helpful. This place has their regulars and rightly so. Biraporetti's is a small but very quaint restaurant. If you get there early before the dinner you will find it very laid back and no rushed. Which I love. My friend and I decided on a Meat lovers Pie and Caesar Salad. First let me start off by saying ALL "hot" foods were cold. I expected something a little more high end with the food quality. With these offerings, prep, and care taken (or the lack thereof) I was left thinking, "why bother offering brunch?" Just open for lunch with the regular menu. If you are not going to do brunch right, why do it at all? The only hot food item was the freshly made omelet was nothing outstanding. The lasagna which had a slight frozen food quality (or Olive Garden...ugh) about it might have been better served hot. The chicken breast topped with mozzarella cheese and a wafting of mushrooms was dry and sitting in water. Salad was okay. There were 3 unlabeled white looking dressings. Strange that an Italian restaurant did not offer an Italian dressing or balsamic vinaigrette. The dressing I tried was, I think, a watery ranch type dressing. Started off with a little ravioli stuffed with ricotta and covered in a vodka sauce. The ravioli needed to be fully cooked as the pasta was beyond chewy. Naturally it was cold. Tried their eggs Benedict. It was cold. Their hollandaise sauce was an anemic white color when it should be a beautiful yellow due to the use of egg yolks. It was cold even right out of the warmer. The Belgian waffles were pre-cooked, sitting on a tray, cold. Even the most inexpensive hotels you can have a fresh hot just made waffles. Didn't try the offered fried fish which looked like a version of Mrs Paul's fish sticks as they were not visually appealing in the least. Didn't try the sautéed shrimp as it smelled extremely "fishy" and not fresh. The pot roast was dry even when sitting in juices. I'm not sure how it could even be accomplished. The fresh strawberries and freshly whipped cream was the best thing I ate. The waitstaff, though polite and not rude, were perfunctory in their service as if they did not want to be there. Same appearance by the kitchen staff who were in full view. Hanging out on their phones. Only one Sterno under each chaffing dish instead of two. There was no slight steam when you lifted the chaffing dish too. No need for the napkin on the handle because the dish was too hot. LOL The food containers were cold to the touch. I made a reservation one hour before going to the restaurant. I did this through their online website. When I arrived, the hostess looked at a hand drawn paper and said we were not on there. When I showed them my confirmation, they told me the website takes time to upload and so we would've had to call "a couple hours earlier." I asked why they wouldn't shut down reservations, since it was still booking. They didn't have an answer. The hostess then told us "The Mexican place further down is really good." Had reservations Christmas Day. Had no knowledge that it was buffet only. Would not have gone since buffets are not our thing. But once we arrive, we really didn't have a choice. The server was prompt, but very blunt and unfriendly. The food was in edible. Most of it was cold. The Italian food on the buffet tasted Like frozen lasagna and frozen pizza. Try to enjoy pumpkin pie for dessert, but it was still frozen. What a horrible Christmas meal and almost $200 wasted. Can't express my dissatisfaction. One star is too high. read more

This is our favorite place in Friendswood to go to. It is a little pricey, but you will not be disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. They do have happy hour prices for the food and drinks and they have a full bar and good draft beer on tap. Our favorite is their pizza and salads. The chicken salad is very, very tasty. Over the past 10 years we never had a bad meal. Len and Jon serve the bar area and they both are quick and very pleasant to talk to. The bathrooms are always clean and they pride themselves on the cleanliness the whole restaurant projects. They also have live bands that are spectacular. Some deserve a better forum (i.e., an upscale lobby maybe?) and they have a great following. The service is really good, but with the party rooms full sometimes, it slows down as any service would with a full house. read more

This is the worst place I have ever been to, the hostess was not very friendly and the service was as bad as it comes. We had a reservation for 6:30 and arrived at 6:20, we were seated promptly and then waited 20 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. We did get our drinks pretty quickly but then waited 10 more minutes for the bartender to comeback to take our order. In the meantime there were two other tables seated 25 minutes after we arrived and they immediately had a server come up and take their drink order and their food order. We did get our appetizer and salad fairly quickly then we had to sit and wait the rest of our order. In the meantime the other 2 tables that arrived 25 minutes after us got their food and we were still left waiting. Enough was enough and we decided to leave, when I went to the bar to pay for the appetizer and drinks the bartender got pissed off and told me that they were busy, yes they were but there is no reason for people that arrived 20 to 25 minutes after us to get their food before us. What really got me was the waiter that served the table next to us walked by us no less than 5 times and did not bother to take our drink order or even acknowledge us but when the two girls came in 25 minutes after us he was Johnny on the spot, probably because I am of Hispanic decent. We were there for over an hour and managed to get one appetizer and 2 salads, not acceptable. When we left the hostess was just rude, she needs some lessons on how to be friendly. I would highly recommend not patronizing this restaurant. The people are not friendly and the service is terrible, the worst I have ever experienced in 40 years of going out to eat and that's saying something. read more

We chose Birraporetti's as a good Sunday brunch spot for the last activity of a wedding weekend. Between wonderful Rhonda's friendly, fast and efficient service and the fantastic food at an excellent price, it was a good call! Everything was fresh and flavorful. I especially loved the ravioli in aurora (vodka) sauce. Several raved about their omelets and the eggs Benedict! My mom really loved the pizza! After all the weekend feasting, for me the salads, veggies and fruits were a blessings. Hubs and I shared desserts ... highly recommend the brownies, while cream and strawberries ... oh. We ordered the large chuck garner and that came with Italian sausage which had no flavor at all, black & green olives, red onion, green bell pepper and jalapeños and to make things worse the crust was horrible. I came here with a party of probably 25 people. The wait for food and drinks wasn't long but there were several mistakes. They didn't cook my boyfriend's steak to medium rare as requested and when the waitress delivered it to the table she said the cook didn't have that available. I thought the cook cooked the steak? Didn't know it only came a certain way.... That was odd. I also requested the Alfredo with no meat in it and it came out with meat. They were able to fix that. When it was time to close out the check we got the check with an item we didn't get on it. Again they were able to fix it. Maybe the experience would be better as a small table. read more

Goodness....where to begin. First time here and went for my first Mother's Day brunch. Got seated and the table had not even been wiped down and no silverware even on the table yet. No one came to wait on us. Had to flag someone down and he wasn't even for our section but ended up being our waiter either way and he was very nice (he was the only positive during this experience). Went through the buffet line with empty trays of food. (I get it, it's a busy day but be prepared) Have an infant and had to change her diaper and the only stall with the changing table was locked because the toilet didn't work. Had to get someone to open it for us. And to really end the experience. The cherry on top, my husband poured the last of the mimosa carafe in his glass and took a drink and it had broken GLASS in it!!!!!! Will never be back. My daughter took me here to celebrate my birthday while she was in town. They have the best brunch at this location. Everything is fresh and tasty. It's funny how a small cup of coffee taste great when I make a mug of coffee at home. :-) Their omelette is to die for. They mix the egg with all of the ingredients you add. I love it better that way then the ingredients folded inside of the egg. All of the dishes are superb. My daughter loves the taste of the waffles. She said the batter used is great. Loved coming here when I lived in Clear Creek. It's still my To Go To place. Ten stars. read more

First off the service was terrible. There was a significant wait from sitting down to actually getting a menu. The waiter was to busy making small talk with other patrons. I want to say that we waited about 10-15 minutes just to get an appetizer order in. The food was overpriced for what it was. I'm not sure how you can screw up calamari, but apparently you can. I mean come on, Olive Garden never messes that up. It was paper thin and almost burnt. The pasta was undercooked and the veal was overcooked(it shouldn't be tough). I'm pretty sure some of their items are precooked and reheated. One star given because their salad dressing was actually pretty tasty. There are way better Italian restaurants in the area than this. People deserve good Italian food and this ain't it. read more
