We really enjoyed our visit to Slate Table + Bar on a Tuesday. We made a reservation on OpenTable just in case there was a wait. We were seated just before a large party showed up. We sat by the wine cellar/private dining room and were graciously served by Amanda. Our table ordered the goddess pasta (you can add shrimp or chicken) and the elote ravioli (as suggested by Amanda). After checking out pics of elote ravioli on yelp, I knew what I would order. I considered adding the grilled watermelon salad, I'll save that for next time! The elote ravioli's presentation was beautiful!! Check out the flowers and the garnishes in the pic. The flavors were a delightful mix of spice and richness (not too much of either IMO). Amanda made a great traditional margarita for my mom (sweet price at $10). Wine by glass and bottles are priced well. Dessert was interesting; we ordered the smoked bread pudding. It usually sells out quickly, so glad we got to try it. I am unsure if I would order that one again (especially bc I want to try the other ones), but it was really interesting and made me think of smoking foods differently. read more

Had reservations to sit at the bar was sat at a table. This was going to be a busy day im sure management was well aware of that however our waitress could not give us the service that we should have had due to her serving a large crowd. (Not her fault) The drinks were good. I had the Lobster & Grits. My food came out and wasn't as hot as it should've been. My drink was empty for too long, I Wasn't offered water and by the time I was able to ask for some I had already eaten about 3/4ths of my food. I don't enjoy giving negative reviews so I will probably give Slate another chance because I do see potential there, I'm just speaking on my experience. Stay tuned for an update. read more

Hosting a Floral Class on Saturday 5/2/2026 I talk to Chef he is so professional and went overboard The atmosphere and food was 10/10 The Ladies that attended the class that was there first time at Slate and they kept saying we will be back. Would definitely come back here. Went on a cute girls night with my friend, and we got there just in time for one round of happy hour. We both got the seasonal margarita, which was like a raspberry version of a house margarita, and it was so good. Not too sweet either, which was appreciated. Our waiter was super nice and patient because we were there chatting for at least 2.5 hrs. The food was 10/10 on quality. We got the steak stroganoff, and the steak was medium rare and cooked to perfection. The pasta was so rich and creamy, and even the little piece of bread on the side was soft and warm. The brick chicken dish was good, but the chicken skin could have been more crunchy and crispy rather than hard as the ends were a little tough to get through. However, the polenta was the highlight of that dish, and I could eat a bowl of just that with the sauce. I'll be back!! read more

We really enjoyed this fancier sit down spot in league city. The interior was very modern and it looked like a great spot for a date night or professional dinner. We enjoyed the lobster beignet appetizer the most and it would be worth visiting just for this. I only gave this place one star because you have to give one. I didn't take any pictures I was so annoyed. I got a lemon drop and it taste just like that a lemon. I could barely drink it down. My husband got an old fashioned and didn't even finish it. To eat I started with fried okra it has some orange sauce on it the sauce tastes like salad dressing the okra was over cooked and no flavor gross. For my meal I got red fish it was fried. I asked for sauce on the side and no cheese it came with both. They remade it the fish has absolutely no seasoning at all not even salt and pepper. The broccoli was so burnt it tasted like it was scrapped from the bottom of a charcoal grill. My advice would be fire your chef this is fine dinning and it came out within minutes of time ordering this is fast food. Very disappointing valentines weekend. read more

We liked the person who served us very much but she was the only one making drinks and taking orders. The location is very cute. I was exited to try the food because I heard they do gluten free really well. Unfortunately there were only two items marked gluten free and the waitresses had to ask for clarification on other items. I was able to adjust the chicken sandwich without a bun for lunch with a side of polenta. The chicken was dry, cold and bland. The polenta was good though. The plate was decorated with a lemon salt of some sort, which I didn't care for. My husband ordered the Love salad as his lunch entree. It was very small. I wish they bulked it up by just adding more lettuce. I'd like to give this place another try but today want exactly what hat we had hoped for. read more

It was my first time trying this place and the only good thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. We had a large party and everyone ordered a different entree and they all disliked their meal. I ordered peel and eat shrimp and it was extremely overcooked, only came with 4 shrimp and the skin was so glued onto it it was taking me over ten minutes to peel each one. They don't even cut a slit in the shell to ease the process. If everyone else's food at our table wasn't so bad, I would've sent it back. The other folks at our table ordered the elote ravioli, chicken salad, goddess pasta, and other dishes. The chicken was tough dry and flavorless, the elote ravioli tasted like someone dumped a canister of cayenne into it, and the pasta had so much pepper in it the lady was coughing throughout the entire dinner. It sucks because I feel like this place has potential but they need someone who knows how to season and prepare food properly. My husband and I just visited Slate Table + Bar for lunch, the place is beautiful, tastefully decorated. The menu is small but very interesting. We were in a bit of a rush, so this time we didn't order appetizers. The staff is very helpful and friendly, service was very quick. I ordered the fish tacos and my husband the hot honey chicken sandwich, both with potato chips. Both dishes were nicely plated, very appealing and inviting. The tacos were delicious, the blue tortilla definitely elevates this dish, the morita sauce made the fish stand out, and the blanco sauce brings everything together, the chips are fantastic, quite addictive, I must say. The sandwich was also really good, the bun is pillowy, delicious breaded chicken breast, the peri peri sauce is very flavorful, and the salt and vinegar crisp adds that interesting crunchy texture, overall great sandwich. We probably picked the most simple dishes, but we were impressed by how they combine flavors, textures, they keep it interesting. I'm part of a Bay Area foodie group and have seen a lot of recommendations about this place. I was eager to try out this restaurant. I walked in and knew I was going to love the place. The decor of the place was very cutesy and there was a DJ playing. The waitress let me know it was ladies' night and the specials that went along. I was excited when I heard the martinis were $5! That excitement quickly changed when the drinks were brought out. They were sooooo small! I think the size needs to mentioned at ordering, or possibly made into a cute martini flight with special pricing instead. The food was pretty good. Nice well appointed restaurant where the cocktails reign supreme! The bartenders here are amazing. The cocktails seem to be carefully selected and crafted. We had reservations for 5 and we were seated immediately. Our server (she) was amazing, knowledgeable and very attentive. The menu will give you a little challenge because it's very imaginative cuisine. Things you may have never heard of. We started with the garlic knots (very good). Entrees ordered, 2 beef stroganoff, chicken fried redfish, 2 brick chicken. Everything thing was delicious. Presentation was great and the food was amazing. For desert we had the purple sweet potato cheese cake (mind blowing and soooooooo good. Also the salted Carmel cookies are so moist and yummy we bought some to go. Slate does not disappoint. Nice open atmosphere with the most friendly and attentive staff. Love going to a place where everyone looks happy and wants to be there. I will definitely be coming back. When we came they only had the brunch menu and it I got the capn chicken which was essentially chicken and waffles it was delicious but the portion size could've been bigger, the limoncello margarita was delicious the charcuterie was also cute with good selection of meats and such wish there was more cheeses and breads though. We were a 6 top. We placed our order and was told 5 min later that they were out of Stroganoff. We were about to leave, but kitchen decided to upgrade our beef to wagyu. The meal was bland. One benefit though is that it's super close to home for me and I couldn't wait to give it a try! Upon entering, we were seated immediately and greeted by our waitress, who was very kind and helpful! She was very attentive throughout the entire meal and we were there for probably three hours. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very upscale looking! I had heard about this place was definitely true to form and then some. For drinks, we tried several! I don't think I captured pictures of all of them, but some of the ones we tried were the empress 75, espresso martini, raspberry margarita, and rum runner For appetizers, we ordered the charcuterie board (which I was surprised to find did not have much cheeses on it) and the fried cauliflower, which was absolutely delicious!! Out of everything the fried cauliflower was the stand out of the meal in my opinion! I wanted to order more of it lol For the entrée, we ordered the lobster beignets and the Elote ravioli, both of which were delightful !! The flavors are really amazing and everything was delicious Our server recommended the caramel crunch cookie and the orange dreamsicle alcoholic beverage for dessert - so we ordered both! We had the cauliflower bouquet, lobster ink squid pasta, filet mignon special, salted caramel crunch, lavender something. Everything was wonderful but I would defitenly pass on the dessert next time - IMO sorbet ice cream does not pair well with cookies or caramel. I am knocking down one star due to my experience. We did not have a reservation and the only table for walkins for two was very awkwardly placed in the restaurant. We asked to be seated somewhere else but they said it was for reservations only but clearly could have accommodated us as it was empty even after we left. The waitress was nice but she forgot to bring the wine menu back when we asked and had to flag someone down to place the wine order. We will be back and and now know to make a reservation. read more
