Maaaan, I love birria tacos. And my friends all love tacos, period, so I put together a walking taco tour for us last year, and another one this year with all new spots. There are so many outstanding taco shops in downtown Oxnard that it's easy to do! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a group of 25+, and they served us all fairly quickly. I ordered the quesabirria tacos because cheese makes everything better. My tacos were ready in a few minutes, and I sat down with some friends to eat them. The cheese was minimal, but the tacos were flavorful. I really enjoyed them. My usual spot is Francisco's (a short walk from Birria Mi Rancho), so I decided to put the two tacos to the test. I got birria tacos from each and ate them head to head. In a head to head, Francisco's won, but that's not to say that Birria Mi Rancho wasn't also delicious! They're both very good. We enjoyed our crispy and juicy birria with cheese with all of the amazingness of cilantro, onion, lime, raddish and dip which comes along with it. Although the line was a bit long on a Sunday after church rush, the 10 minute or so wait for our to go food was absolutely worth it. They were almost going to close and were flexible with us to go pick up a little shortly after close time. This time went in to the restaurant for takeout. Very clean place. Instead of moving I bought some food know it was going to be about 30 minutes and let me just say I'll be back and would recommend. Newest Birria Joint in town. Usually like to call in my order but since it was my first time I decided to come in to check out their menu. As soon as I walked in they greeted me with a smile and asked if I had any questions. They are very professional and polite. I order Tacos de Birria and a Quezabirria!! Wow!! Omg it's delicious, the best I've had. The tacos were very generous, lots of meat and they also included a side of Consomé, onion, cilantro, limes and cucumber on the side!! I learned the also have Birria de Chivo if you buy it by the LB. My son and I first time @ Birria Mi Rancho and , the Birria Quesatacos combo plate was "outstanding!" a must pick, also had the Chivo tacos (2) "amazing!" and a horchata. The beef in the tacos is quality, succulent, tender and downright delicious, we will definitely be back, they clearly take pride in making good food. They need to add some salt to the broth and meat, otherwise the flavor was still very good. Great customer service and great food. As we were looking at the menu they gave us a sample of "chivo" and "res" birria. We grabbed 2 quesatacos de res and 1 taco suave de chivo. They were really good. Only thing it lacked was salt but I like my food salty so just my own personal preference. They do have a salsa bar and you can add your own salt read more

This is the place Oxnard has desperately needed! Birria has become very popular the last few years in the food truck world in oxnard and I have tried just about every food truck that has Birria around ventura county. there are some decent ones , but none that have the true authentic flavor , spices , consistency and style. To be honest , I travel to LA to get my birria fix. Birria Mi Rancho has delivered though! So let's get down to it. Service was excellent and very quick, prices are great , all the ingredients are fresh and high quality. I ordered Queso Tacos Birria de Rez and Agua de Jamaica. The meat was full of flavor , tender but not mushy and had zero fat. The cheese in the queso taco was REAL cheese and kept it's cheesy stress consistency till my last bites. The tortilla for the taco was cooked perfectly (semi dorado) and held the birria perfect all the way till the last bite. The tortilla didn't get soggy and start falling apart. The salsa roja was perfectly spicy and you only need a few drops per bite. one salsa was enough for 2 tacos. The consomé was perfection ! It definitely is on the spicy side but it is made perfectly and compliments the salsa for a blast of flavor and spice that will leave you wanting another bite.
