When we walked in we were immediately greeted by our host and he brought us past the small band playing some smooth grooves. Some really good songs to listen to while eating. I started off with a horchata and it was the first time I had it. It was excellent. Our server was very understanding of our situation. My aunt had the Pulpo which she loved. When to this place around dinner time on a Sunday evening. The place was fairly crowded, but we were able to get a table and both immediately. The interior of the restaurant is very bright and spacious with lots of Baja California decorations. Very lively atmosphere. Also had a bar that looked very well stocked. The service was quick and polite and very helpful. I ordered the all fried fish. The fries that came with it were a little cold and old, but the fish was solid. Could've used a little bit more seasoning, but what do you expect from a fried whole fish. The salsa came with was solid. My wife got the seafood stew. She absolutely loved it. Nice little find, there is a bar (cantina) that looks neat, seating inside and outside with the ambiance being great for both. Service was quick even with a busy Wednesday night. The tortillas are made in house which are good and the salsa is plentiful. I did a carne asada burrito, wet, and went with both red and green sauce. The asada was fantastic! I am usually skeptical of traditional or sundown Mexican spots, but the meat and seasoning and char was on point for legitimate asada. I just came here today, the food is good, the presentation is very simple on the plates, also they offer fresh homemade tortillas it gives them extra point. The sea food isn't fishy, its good I can't complain. Im just very disappointed about their men restroom. You must make a long line to use it, also it only has one toilet for the whole restaurant. Be careful you must looked the door Because if not you will be exposed to being seen by other people who wants to use it. GETTING HERE: Located at the intersection of Oxnard Blvd. and Wooley. PRO TIP: Weekends are busy here, just plan ahead for parking, etc. REVIEW: A solid 4.5 dining experience. My guest and I were seated pretty quickly and our server came over pretty quickly as well and took our drink orders. The drinks were delivered promptly as was our chips and salsa. I'm guessing they have to run a pretty tight ship here since it's so extremely busy (at least on this visit it was). The small hiccup was with my order, I requested the red sauce on my chilaquiles to be the salsa (with the chips) as it was milder. Of course, my order was served with their "regular" red sauce, which was too spicy for me. Had to send it back. (Also, the egg and the protein was an upcharge, just FYI.) My guest thoroughly enjoyed their cheese enchilada, said it was very tasty and served hot and flavorful. Great overall expereince and will definitely be back and definitly recommend. We live on the Central Coast and our daughter lives down in Southern California so we met halfway in Oxnard. The reviews were pretty awesome compared to many in the area. We were pleased with everything we had. It was a very nice friendly, welcoming restaurant. Lots of variety of Mexican Dishes including seafood choices. The Menudo was actually good and we'd order it again if we were back in the area. I definitely recommend you trying Cabo. Delicious food, great service, friendly service, and most of all clean restrooms which matter to me. I usually will never Return to a restaurant that has dirty bathrooms. One of our regular spots and an Oxnard local favorite. I have had many things on the menu. The Chile relleno is fabulous. The Ceasar Salad is fresh and grilled chicken or shrimp as an add on. There is a beautiful whole fish. Ceviche is off the charts. Table side fresh guacamole. Today I had a 3 taco combo. Carne Asada (excellent), Chicken, and Vegetable. The vegatable was loaded and I will definitely order it again. En pocos palabras, everything is good here. Though I haven't tried the burger, I hear rumors that it's quite good.
