Brought the family to try this place (my current favorite spot)! And they loved it! This time, they had much more meat and the meat was still juicy as ever. But enough of the carne asada, we NEED to talk about the crispy tripa Tacos (Dish 2). This taco is made of intestines and my OH MY, the intestines were so crispy on the outside and fluffy and buttery on the inside. We initially wanted to check out next door seafood truck but meanwhile we wanted give it a try to Sonora Steak Asadero food truck. I am glad that we tried their Carne asada torta. Reasonable price. Meat they used in torta is flavorful, combine and seasoned with some spices. Bread is fresh and toasted which is must for torta in my opinion. I have been eating at this food truck since over a year now, every time I go to the Outlets at the Border and I am a fan. Their menu is brief yet diverse. I love their queso tacos which have Carne Asada topped with cheese. Service: They are fast in whipping up the order. I have always seen just two people on the truck, one guy who takes the orders and also cooks and another guy who just cooks. I have never been disappointed visiting this truck. They are in such a great location and are life saviours since I don't ever happen to find any good food at this mall. read more

Another delicious food truck that is always parked in the lot of Target . We each ordered one thing from each truck and I ordered a cheese quesadilla. It was done perfectly and the best thing was how well it was wrapped. It was put in a styrofoam container and then wrapped with Saran Wrap. My daughter in law thought the taco was very authentic and delicious. She really enjoyed all the flavors. Again you could stand near some tall tables they had set up under some tents. Great tacos ! The prices are affordable, the food selection offers great variety & its located right in the middle parking lot of Las Americas. I live in Lakeside & have made the travel 4 times now in the last 3 weeks! Worth the gas & mileage. Just wish they would honor their hours of operation. Oh yeeeeah these were some delicious tacos. I got 2 Carne Asada (AKA normal), 2 tripa doradito (crispy), one adobada, and one barbacoa, all with everything (salsa and Serranos and onions). The Carne Asada was pretty delicious, and the price was unbeatable- especially for the fresh soft delicious corn tortillas they were on! The tripa (beef small intestine) was pretty crispy on the outside but tender on the inside, with a nuttiness you'll know if you eat tripa (you should). The adobada was pretty delicious, well seasoned and seared, slightly spicy but not too crazy. A guy behind me had a taco dorado and wow, that sounded like a crunchy taco. I'm from Vegas and was looking for a taco truck before I head back down here. I needed to go to target and stumbled upon this truck. They have handmade tortillas and pack the taco with enough meat. I don't understand the 2 previous reviews. I have eaten at the truck 3 times and all I can say is I crave their food! The Mexican quesadilla is made with fresh avocado, cilantro, pinto beans, onions, with a sprinkling of cheese, and perfectly seasoned steak tips on freshly made tortillas. There is nothing not to like! I see the lines for Marisco's. I love Marisco's. But once in a while you need meat. And Sonora is the place to get it. Give them a try! read more

I CANNOT resist potatoes... especially baked ones or french fries. I was sold instantly. Combo number 1 came with 3 carne asada tacos and a baked potato for $7.50. There's a station set up next to the food truck with salsas and other toppings for you to add. The tacos were okay. I wish there were less fat chunks in there though. By the time I finished picking them out my tacos did look a little less substantial, good thing there were 3! The baked potato was cooked a little too long, but I finished it so quickly it didn't even matter. I wish they disclosed that there was a 50 cent credit card fee, not that it was a deal breaker but I would've paid cash. read more

Last night we had the most delicious Mexican food we'd ever had. Customer service was also excellent. I live 40 miles away from where they stop but I'll drive all the way down there to eat their delicious food. First we ordered a little bit just to try their food then we ordered a lot including lamb and enjoyed. They were supposed to close at 7 but because of us stayed open for like half an hour. When I took it back, immediately (within 45 seconds) - they told me it'd be another 15-20 minutes to remake it, because other ppl were waiting. Shouldn't you correct your FIRST PAYING customers mistake, offer a refund or something BEFORE everyone else "that's waiting"? The cook rolled his eyes as I explained my issue and was down right rude. their service is terrible whenever you go to any restaurant or store, service is always #1, customers are the base for your business. I ordered a burrito and when it was ready not a single one of the 3 employees could mention the fact that my food was ready. after I noticed the burrito that was there was mine it was already a bit cold and when I asked for a plastic bag to get pickled onions the guy didn't even say " sure here you go" or " here it is anything else I can do for you?" nothing didnt even look at me just handed it to me, no eye contact no " thank you come again" which I won't. Went to the Chula Vista food truck and was completely disappointed not only with the food but the with the way I was treated. Going to an asadero I expected my meat to be tasty and grilled or at least have some kind of seasoning. I ordered the combo which came with an asada taco and tostada with a baked potato. I decided to eat my tostada first so that it didn't get soggy and soon as I picked it up it crumbled to pieces, the meat on it was tasteless and was more than likely just cooked on a pan rather than grilled like their name says (asadero). The meat on my taco was the same and so I moved on to my potato. Once again I was disappointed simply received a potato with a slab of butter in the middle. My real beef comes with cashier, BEFORE I got there my dad had ordered and PAID for his own combo meal after I arrived we ordered my food and something to go. The cook told me she would cook our combo to go once we were done eating so the tostada wouldn't be soggy. So we finished our food and asked the cook for the 2nd combo. While it was being cooked my dad payed for the other two combos we ordered when I arrived and let me know he was leaving home so I waited for the food to myself. After I got it I was heading to my car when the cashier stopped me he told me that we had only paid for two of the meals. I let him know that my had paid for all three meals, he insisted and told me to call him. When I called my dad he told me he had paid for one meal when he got there and the other two while we were waiting for our to go meal. I said this to the cashier who insisted we had only paid two. Eventually he gave in when I told him I would pay and said "no it's fine". So needles to say I won't be going back, due to the mediocre food and awful service, better food trucks around anyway. read more
