    Pork and steak torta
    Riva O.

This Mexican food truck was parked outside my school, and at first I was hesitant to try it, but when you see a truck full of stickers you know it will be authentic. I overheard them talking with another costumer and they stated they were from Tijuana, Baja CA. I decided to give it a try and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was so fresh as if they had just baked it right then and there. The way they crisp the bread was perfection and the wide variety of flavors in one sandwich was shocking. I got the steak carne asada and adabado torta. The two who were working were welcoming and helpful when deciding what to order. They have Quesadillas, tacos, tortsa and all the goodies. You can tell there food was made with love, and the meat to bread ratio was just right. There salsa was so spicy and hit the spot. There prices are super reasonable. The food also tasted clean and could tell their food was handled properly :) Highly recommend if you see them in the area.

Great potatoes tacos with avocado, grilled onions and sauce. Delish!! A favorite food truck at Fall brewing on the weekends.

Three letters. Wow!!! After a fun night out, we decided to hit this food truck. Food trucks can be hit or miss, but this truck is 100 percent a hit! The employee was very engaging and noticing my accent and we started joking around. I placed my order for two adaboda tacos. They were bigger than I thought and filled with meat and full of flavor. It was a very nice surprise and it hit the spot. This will be my go to taco truck when I'm downtown Chula Vista.

Hot Lunch Program on a San Diego crisp Winter day at Corazon de Torta! Great albondigas torta today and fantastic company! That deep sauce & menu, are recipes from Jose Figueroa of La Carmelita at TJ's Telefonica Gastropark. Major crossborder love here. Corazon is just around the corner from Specialty Produce! The food is good but the guy is a dick. He's unsanitary and rude, honestly. He speaks to people like he has too much business to care about yours. Since fallbrook brewing requires us to purchase from him, it's unfortunate

Last weekend I got the opportunity to try out this Mexican Food Truck. The truck is super cute with it's decor and lighting which is eye catching. There was a variety of food options here and I was tempted to try their tortas, but ended up going for their "$5 Asada Burrito". This burrito is so small when you compare it to taco shops it looks like that's it!? It did taste good though, but definitely a bit over priced it felt like a small hand held burro cut in half. The salsa was fine also, but if you're hungry.. I would opt for maybe the torta.. it might be more filling.~

    Veggie quesadilla with guacamole
    Vale A.

Veggie Delight! Officially on my top 5 food trucks. The menu was a bit small. I'm not sure if they change it up, but I get the sense that it does. Which is awesome. *Vegans & Vegetarians* They had one vegan option on the menu when I went, but when we asked the chef if he could make us some vegetarian options and he was more than ok with it. Asked us what we liked and went from there. He even asked if cheese was ok. Kickass service. We ended up with a torta and a quesadilla and guacamole on the side. The bread was warm and toasty and oh so fresh. There was roasted cauliflower, melted cheeses (I believe Oaxaca cheese and cotija), onions, avocado and tomato. The red salsa that came with our food was beautiful. Slightly roasted, but fresh tasting and reminiscent of my dads. Loved it. Could eat 100 more right now. Simple, but full of flavor. My bf loved his veggie quesadilla too. The portions are on the small side. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but if you're super hungry, order more things or just save this for a lighter day. Overall, I can say 10/10. Catch them if you get a chance.

Crappy, tiny, cold tostada for five dollars.

Omg so good. I was around the corner at the DMV for like 3 hours (I'm never moving out of Cali…read moreagain...) and waiting in the line for vehicle inspection when I said, let me get some food and wait instead... So glad I found Mar Y Tierra!!! Everyone was sooo nice to me even though I had a hard time remembering "sesenta" briefly (when I think in Spanish now, Japanese comes out... it's funny but it's a problem lol) and even though I'm a gringa with a basic order. I just got 1 shrimp & 1 fish taco both with avocado and a jamaica. When I tell you I ate these like I had never eaten food before... Shrimp was incredibly tender and wonderful. The fish was huge, flaky and crispy and juicy. Honestly I ate them so quickly they could've been made of liquid. But they were sooo delicious!! They included extra sauce and the green salsa wasn't too spicy for me which I so appreciate! They also included 2 limes for one of the tacos which made me think someone really loves me today :') I would definitely come back here anytime and try more things on the menu! Very very delicious!! Thank you for the delicious food and taking care of me today!!!

Just a heads up before you go, there is no seating. It's a standing-room-only setup with barrel tables throughout the outdoor space. You order from one of the trucks, find a place to stand, and enjoy your food. The atmosphere felt lively and authentic, making it part of the experience. Service: Service was quick and efficient despite the crowd. There was even someone helping direct parking, which made arriving and finding a spot much easier. Food: The complimentary consommé completely stole the show for me. It was rich, flavorful, and packed with chunks of seafood. Every bite had a deep, savory flavor with just the right amount of spice. It was honestly my favorite thing we tried. We ordered the Gobernador, the Negrita, and fish tacos. The Gobernador was loaded with shrimp and melted cheese, creating the perfect combination of rich, savory seafood flavor. The shrimp tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked perfectly. The Negrita was another standout, piled high with shrimp, sliced avocado, and topped with an oyster that added even more fresh ocean flavor. It was served with tostadas on the side, and every bite was packed with bold seasoning, fresh seafood, and great texture. The fish taco was good and made with fresh ingredients. My bf and I are big foodies and have eaten a lot of fish tacos over the years, so we're probably tougher critics than most. While it wasn't our favorite item of the meal, it was still enjoyable, and the Gobernador and Negrita were the clear standouts for us. While the prices are a little higher, the quality, freshness, and portion sizes help justify it. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish. Between the flavorful seafood, and generous portions, it's definitely worth coming back again.

El Prieto (Main St, San Diego) Rating: 2.5 / 5 Stars…read more I really wanted to enjoy my visit to El Prieto, but unfortunately, the experience was a series of "almosts" that didn't quite land. Here is the breakdown of my recent meal: The Food The kitchen missed the mark on a few basics. My bistec ranchero was underwhelming; the sauce was overly "tomatoey," lacking the deep, savory complexity or spice you expect from a solid ranchero. To make matters worse, the rice served on the side was noticeably cold, which is always a disappointment. The Drinks The beverage situation was equally frustrating. I was surprised to find that the bar offers no wine options at all. I decided to pivot to an Arnold Palmer, which ended up being the worst version of the drink I've ever had--the proportions were completely off. Service & Atmosphere The service felt lacking throughout the night, with very little attention paid to the table. Most off-putting, however, is the policy stated on the menu: a 45-minute window to eat. It's hard to relax and enjoy a meal when you feel like you're being timed by the staff. Verdict Between the cold sides, a limited bar, and the rushed atmosphere created by the time limit, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to return. There are too many great spots in San Diego to settle for a 45-minute countdown.

The catfish was good but not as good as the shrimp. They mac & cheese was the best I've had!!! We also had the peach cobbler and it was soo very tasty. My only regret is not getting it with ice cream. 2 days later I went back with my kid to try the chicken tenders, fries, egg rolls, and get some more Mac & Cheese. Chicken & fries were seasoned good. I just wish they had an option for spicy seasoning. The Mac & Cheese we fought over and it was gone quick. We'll be back for the mac&cheese, shrimp, and cobblers! Delicious!!

After enjoying a cold beer, I asked them to make me the Mushroom and Sausage pizza baked in a red and black wood fire oven. The pizza cost $12. The pizza was quite excellent at many levels. First of all, I was very pleased with the sauce made from organic San Marzano Tomatoes. It was light but provided a great natural mild tomato flavor. I had a great balance between sweet and acidity, both being very subtle. The pizza's sausage is made by the proprietor, Mario M., and let me tell you, he makes some grand sausage. The sausage was lighter than most and not overwhelmed by herbs and seasoning. It did have a small amount of fennel seeds, but no so much that it allowed the natural pork flavor to come through nicely. The mushrooms that came with this pizza were rendered down well from baking and were tender with a good earthy flavor. The Mozzarella was fresh and the pizza came with just the right amount. I was very impressed with the pizza's crust. It was of the thinner variety but held up very well to the pizza's ingredients. Even though it was thin and had a good light crunch, it also had very good texture and where there was some sort of thickness, it had a bit of a chew.
