There wasn't anything special, the flavors were good, but the quality was lacking. My birria tacos had a lot of fat and after removing it, there was very little meat. That was a disappointment. There was indoor seating, however the air quality inside was poor and it was hot due to the grill. There are a few table outside as well, which helped. There is a small parking lot with limited parking shared with other businesses. There was a small salsa bar and water available. Overall, this place was alright. Zero stars Boy has this place gone down hill or was today just a bad night? Ordered $80 worth of food and it all went in the trash. The fries tasted like old fryer oil. The adobada was swimming in grease and tasted like it had been fried in old grease. The avocado salsa was super wilted by the time I got to my destination (10 min away) Literally everything I ordered tasted HORRIBLE! It was my kids birthday so I didn't have time to go back and ask for a refund because trust me it was inedible and if it wasn't my kids birthday I'd be back in there. I don't understand how someone who works at a restaurant would think it's ok to serve food like this. Is it because it was a takeout order and we wouldn't see it til we got to our destination? Finally stopped by to try these tacos. I've been wanting to try them for awhile. They have a pretty good menu of TJ style tacos as well as tortas, nachos etc I am always looking for the best TJ style tacos in San Diego and these did not disappoint. Some are unique like the Mexiterraneo Adobada taco, it had a really good flavor but the flour tortilla got soggy very quickly with the sauce and juices. My favorite one was the Taco Del Jefe, the meat was so tender, both the lengua and beef cheek meat was flavorful and delicious. They have a salsa station and I liked their green salsa the best. The space is not too big but you can dine inside and they also have a couple tables outside in the front. Parking is limited as it is a very small area. The wait was long, seems like they were having issues mixing up take out orders and some people were upset. I didn't mind the wait much, the staff was friendly and offered me waiter while I waited. First time trying Taco Machin. We ordered 3 adobada tacos, 1 carne asada taco, Cali burrito and horchata, which cost us roughly $50, including tip. The adobada tacos tasted the best out of our order but I would say it's comparable to other taco shops with lower price point. The corn tortilla it came with was pretty good, soft but has a bit of crunch around the edges. The carne asada taco was just ok. It was a little bland for our taste. The Cali burrito was just ok. Horchata was good but we both noticed there were more people ordering Jamaica. That must be the popular drink. The inside is spacious, digital menus, and looked clean. Went here on a weeknight and was lucky to find parking right up front but I can see how it can be challenging during the busy times because it's in the same area as a fruitas, salon and paletas place. Prepared on paper so with the soggy once you get to the bottom it is truly up to you to guess if its cheese, sour cream or paper that you're about to eat. Was the most excited for cachete since it's hard to find. I added guacamole to the burrito. The Cachete itself had no flavor. Once I added onion, chile, salt, lime and both salas it was pretty good! A bit soggy but good! It's cachete you have to expect the wetness. The red salsa threw me off from just the bright color. Both Salas were just okay. Inability for follow simple instructions for online orders directly through their website. I simply ordered tacos and in the notes sections asked for the toppings to be placed on the side. Instead they disregarded the notes section on their own online ordering system and added all toppings to all tacos. When then were delivered the guacamole was brown and the tacos were soggy. I threw them away. The tacos are good when you order there for dine in. But do not order anything for delivery from here. It will be soggy before it arrives. I understand some restaurants don't allow for modifications. But this one did allow for modifications and notes. I love this spot. I came here with my mom for our first visit from a recommendation and we were both so impressed. My mom tends to be a harsh critic for food she did not cook on her own, but she loved it!! The adobada and lengua here are my favorites, and the tortilla here, chefs kiss!!! This place just didn't hit the spot for me. You'll find Taco Machin in the heart of Bonita. Walking in, I was greeted by staff who were very polite. The restaurant was clean and it wasn't busy at the time I walked in (8pm). Looking at the menu I saw that they had tongue which is one of my favorite meats. I asked for the lengua burrito, but was told that the meat was sold out early. Found that a bit odd that they ran out so early. I ended up ordering the Adobada burrito which was priced at just over $12 +tax. Upon receiving the burrito, I was surprised at how small the burrito was. Definitely one of the smallest burritos in San Diego. For the price they charge for these, I certainly expected more. This is more like. $7 burrito. They also cut the burrito in half which caused the grease to come out and made the tortilla soggy on the bottom. No real complaints on the taste. Adobada tasted nice and the guacamole was also very nice. Overall, I wouldn't come back, but happy to have tried it out. read more

Taco Machin tacos are the closest to Tacos el Franc that I have found on the U.S. side of the border. And that's a huge compliment in my opinion. I live close enough and I was loving the taco machin so much for a brief period I wanted to go everyday! But then... like anything good that you have too often you get particular. The food quality is inconsistent and depends on the cook that makes the taco. Once I had a taco machin where they forgot to add the beans and I only realized as I was almost finished. Another time, they added the beans after the guacamole and that was the least appetizing looking taco ever! I will see if I took a photo to share... Service is hit and miss, sometimes they will bring it out and sometimes they call you to pick it up at the counter and there were occasions where my order was mixed up when I've gone to the counter to pick up the food. Stopped by Taco Machin after a trip to my dog groomer and was looking for a quick bite-so glad I did. Their concept is pretty cool: you choose from different meats that can be served in a variety of ways, which makes ordering fun and customizable. Delicious TJ style tacos that are made by hand. So flavorful and good. The first time I came the salsa was killer and so spicy. Must of been the chiles. The salsa is good and complements the meat so well. Great local spot. Everything I have gotten here lately has been so on point and delicious. Craving it now that I am writing this review. I stated this was our first time, give us a second to look at the menu and she was snappy. I also had acouple of questions and she responded with so much attitude. It was unnecessary. Came here on a Friday night at approx 8pm. Heard great things about this place. Horchata was sold out unfortunately so I got a Mexican coke. Had their burrito de asada, small but good. Couldn't cook on this evening, so after having a full day, came here to have tacos. I saw all of the reviews and realized that it was closed by to where we were at the time so we stopped in. As soon as you get there, it's so bright inside and it looks super clean. Also, the people working there were very welcoming. We looked at the menu and ordered: 2 Machin Tacos with Carne Asada, 1 Machin Burrito, 1 Torta Machin, a beer and a horchata medium. I went to the restroom and it was clean. Only problem was that this is a restroom with a mens urinal and a toilet too. So, whoever used the mens urinal did not flush and there was stale ass piss sitting in it..horrible. Anyway, the food came out and it was prepared perfectly. The tacos are a bit on the juicy/creamy side so expect to get messy eating them. The flavor is ¡DELICIOSO! The Torta Machin was okay. It did not have the bang that the tacos had. The horchata drink was also okay, could use more flavor and cinnamon. The staff is very customer service oriented and very friendly. Overall, this was a 3.5 star experience, but the customer service added a half star for a total of 4 stars. read more

I came in for my very first time today. We were kindly greeted by the cashier that was able to suggest some options. This taco shop is definitely worth checking out if you're craving quality tacos with a homemade touch. The standout for me was the flour tortillas that are chewy and soft. The asada meat was tender , although it could've used just a bit more salt. Unfortunately, the salsa bar was a bit of a letdown, with only two options that lacked flavor and spice in my opinion. Despite that, the tacos overall were very good, and I'd absolutely recommend the asada tacos. I'd skip the "Mexirreanean" taco, which is supposed to be a Mexican-Mediterranean fusion, but honestly tastes almost identical to the asada. The space itself is very clean with plenty of seating, and they have an accessible restroom which is a big plus. Parking, however, is limited and not the most convenient, so be prepared for a bit of a walk across the street if it's busy. PS: it's located right next to Holy Paleta, the best paleta shop in town. So if you're looking to follow up your tacos with a dessert, you're in the perfect spot. All in all, a solid taco spot definitely worth a visit for the tortillas alone. read more
