Let me start with the food was great, we ordered 2 orders if the tacos, chips and salsa and 2 sodas. Excellent flavor and some of the best salsa I've tasted. Clearly the establishment is well thought of as it was 2pm on a Saturday and the place was very busy. I would love to frequent the restaurant BUT, the prices were over the top. Our meal was $57 which included an $8.50 tip which was 18% I usually do 20% but I thought even the tip was crazy high based on their settings. I think some people get caught up in the "authentic" thing whether it's better or not. I've been twice, and the 1st thing that hit me for a hole-in-the-wall are the prices. Overpriced, even in today's inflationary world. On the good, the street corn was excellent. On the bad, the chicken nachos were boring. Just tortilla chips, white queso, and small pieces of chicken. Bad French fries and mediocre burger, though the Birria Smash burger was unique and good. I ordered online and the interface was poorly designed. I was given the option of checking a box that said "no grilled onions" and since I didn't check that box, I assumed I would be given grilled onions. Nope. For some menu items this is okay, like the large burrito supreme and other items people have posted about. But, some of the pictures are misleading like the basic tacos. They're absolutely tiny, and ordering regular beef and not steak, will set you back still ~$20 a person (you get 3 small tacos). If you want to add a portion of chips, smaller than a bag you can get at the grocery store, it's an extra $5. This does not include a drink. You'll be left hungry and eating a snack in under 30 minutes after spending $25 (plus tax). Prices are more competitive at the center of Greenville than here - the quality nor quantity justify these amounts. Okay on occasion if it's the closest option. read more

Burger was way bigger than expected, it was as big as my face. The server/cashier was very nice. We originally went there for their seafood but they hadn't received their shipment yet. He offered to give us a discount the next time we came in since we missed out on their boils (haven't taken him up on that yet!). I know. Very unpopular opinion but... a girlfriend and I went a few weeks ago for lunch. We got birriera quesadillas, shrimp and asada tacos and a few other items. We each paid just at/above $20 for our meals. Considering the cost and what we got we were a bit underwhelmed. To our surprise the consommé was an extra charge which you'd typically expect to simply Come with said "birriera" order. Bonus points when we didn't get it with our meal they gave it on the house. Super friendly staff. Clean place. All that going for them. The quesadillas were overloaded with cheese to the point of not really wanting to eat further.
