Don't underestimate the customer service experience was flawless. The food quality is a failure. There needs to be a minimum of quality standards for the restaurant to achieve this by having the food match the picture of the food in the menu. Also ordered two regular fries of which was seasoned with sugar not salt. This careless mistake says there needs to be a performance improvement in this process of cooking and food preparation. Including someone testing the difference in salt versus sugar to know the results of how the error can affect the outcome of the customer experience. While there another person ordered the same steakhouse burger and their burger matched the picture. Hopefully management or the owner can address this situation and it is a repeat situation. read more

Ordered Cajun tots, all I can say is yuck. The tots has so much seasoning that it was falling off in clumps. I was unable to eat. The burger was just okay. Ordered my food through DoorDash. My family and I came into the restaurant yesterday (June 9th) at about 12:30 for lunch. All five of us ordered burgers and fries and three of them were great - exactly what I would expect from Wayback. My daughter and I both ordered the Bourbon Bacon burgers. Everything was going fine until we reached a bite with the bourbon sauce and tasted something awful like spoiled food. I let my husband try it too to make sure we weren't crazy and he gagged and spit it out and said for sure the sauce has gone bad. I walked up to the register with the burgers and told them that the sauce seems to have gone bad. The worker smelled the sauce, said it smelled fine and then opened the container, dipped a French fry in the sauce dispenser and tasted it. He said it seems fine and offered no solution. So we threw away our burgers and calmly left the restaurant. I have had bourbon sauces before and have always enjoyed them - this was not an issue of dislike, but rather of an expired sauce. I was disappointed with the customer service and lack of offer to switch it out for something else on top of having bitten into spoiled food Hopefully someone will check the sauces and make sure that spoiled food doesn't continue to be served. read more

We placed an order through the app to take advantage of the BOGO national Burger day promotion. We got other things on our burgers like onions and paid extra for bacon. My mistake was not taking apart my burgers in store a to verify that we got what we paid for. By the time I got home and got ready to eat, it was only then that we learned our burgers were incorrect. We called and spoke to a manager who read the order back to me and assured me that we didn't have bacon on our burger. The attached receipt on our bag and our online order said otherwise. My group of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids) enjoyed lunch here. The food was delicious. The employee offered to split my kids milkshakes when I realized the menu didn't have kid size anymore, saving me money. We interacted with multiple staff members and they were all friendly and eager to please. Great experience! I expect to return. read more

We were just Yelping around, looking for a place to eat near us, and this place popped up, so off we went. First impressions: As mentioned in another review, the floor is sticky. I'm not sure why this is, but it should be remedied. Also, they do not have any type of gluten-free bun, which is getting to be a standard need nowadays, and there are some Good gluten-free buns out there. When I placed my order for iced tea, I was given a cup. I filled the cup at the ice machine, but there was no tea at the station. I was told by a young man at the counter that he would bring it out. Okay. But when the food arrived in a paper bag, still no tea. At this point, I noticed two tea containers sitting near the wall behind the counter, so I went back to the counter & asked for tea. I did get the tea, but didn't understand why the tea was never put out for customers' use, along with the carbonated drinks. Weird. The burger was okay. Hubby remarked that the meat had a weird mouth feel, and I did get that in a couple of bites. It felt somewhat greasy. Came in and thought it was about to close but they said they were still open for another two hours. The employees were nice and welcomed us in with open arms. Had a conversation with the manager before we ordered and he was really nice and helpful since we had not been there before. Even made some jokes that made us laugh. We ordered a cheeesy burger, a double Carolina burger, chili cheese fries and an Oreo mud pie milkshake. The Carolina burger was ok but the cheeesy burger was amazing. I definitely recommend getting that and you can make it a double or even up to 9 patties. Yes I said 9! The chili cheese fries were hot and pretty good. A regular size was enough for two people. The Oreo mud pie milkshake was DELICIOUS! It was so good that I still think about it to this day and we are there about 2 weeks ago. Stopped in at 11:30 on a Tuesday. Ordered a couple of burgers. There were 4 other people in the establishment yet it took 20 minutes (11:28 to 11:49) for my food to be ready! How hard is it to throw a bunch of burgers on the grill (you are a burger place after all) and assemble the sandwiches?! 20 minutes is entirely too long to wait in an empty restaurant for a cheeseburger. We purchased a single burger you can customize with all the veggie toppings and a double burger with mustard, chili, and onions, great flavor! We shared a large fries which was delicious dipped in their specialty "wayback gold" sauce, a blend of honey mustard and BBQ I think, for an extra 30 cents. They offer several other basic sauces like ranch and buffalo for extra price which is reasonable. The order arrived on time about 30 minutes after placing the order. Visited with my husband. Items are made to order. I had the classic single burger with tomato, lettuce, pickle, mustard and ketchup. My husband had the Philadelphia Cheesesteak with grilled onions. My burger was excellent and full of flavor. The cheese stake leaves a little to be desired. I'm from Philadelphia so, do you need more grilled onions in it and they should not be chopped, they should be longer pieces. It also needs more filling because it was mostly bread. Whoever said that this place is not comparable to Five Guys isn't very good at this. At the very least, it's comparable. And it's easy to see why some would prefer Wayback over Five Guys. I like the idea of this spot. Old school diner food. I came in for a milkshake and was happy to see I could text a code and get a free one! ....That's where the good reviews ends. I only ordered 1 milkshake- easy enough for a restaurant that prides itself on the drink...wishful thinking! It took 20 minutes of me standing beside the register from 3:06 to 3:28pm watching every move they made until they realized they forgot about my order aka "lost my ticket". The time it took to make a milkshake is ridiculous. That's all I ordered. I should have been in and out in 5! After all this, I won't be drinking it after seeing it made. The staff today was not great on following COVID compliances. I got a milkshake and I watched the young man make it without gloves and his mask half down (not covering his nose or anything). Repeatedly touching the rim of the milkshake container with his bare hands and then touching his nose. Then, he got fed up and passed it off to another employee to work on.
