I would have liked more chicken, but overall it was solid. My lunch dates got the textican salad and they liked it. We also got a turkey mushroom burger just to try for the table and honestly, it was one of the best turkey burgers I've ever had. On our first visit, I got the Heat Wave Burger and my husband ordered a double Smash Burger, but his burger only came with one patty. The burgers were also much smaller and thinner than expected. The service wasn't great either, as our server made a mistake and seemed rushed. We gave it another try today. My husband got the Heat Wave Burger again, but this time it wasn't spicy like it was during our first visit. He said it was okay, but nothing special. Greeter slams spray bottle down on the host stand and with a sour face says "How many?" Helluva greeting. First time we are here, so not off to a great start. Our waitress was Ashley and she pleasantly greeted our table quickly and gave us time to review the menu. Very friendly. I had the stack n smash burger. It was excellent. My wife had chicken strips and she thought they didn't have much flavor on their own. It was a bit a loud but to be expected at a place like this. Our seat was probably the worst in the whole place being right by the kitchen. The lighting was harsh since we were right by the kitchen but it actually helped me see the menu. I heard someone managing the food as it came out of the kitchen and she was really good. It sounded like she was checking every order as it went out. Turns out she was the manager. When we were done I motioned for her to come over and she did. Again very friendly. We mentioned that we were first timers and she offered us some coupons for the next time we stop in. She also mentioned that it was a crazy day (Saturday) which probably explains why the floors were a bit untidy. Offering the coupons was a nice touch and very smart. The evening started off rocky but came to good end. It's a 3.5 star review but since I can't leave that I bumped it to 4. First experience was great. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was still crispy and had a nice kick of heat to it. Sometimes a dipped sandwich can get soggy but this sandwich held up pretty well. The Mac and cheese was not to cheesy at all either. It was the perfect amount of cheese to noodle ratio. The second visit was okay. I liked my burger but the Mac and cheese was not on point this time. It seemed as if they just poured a whole container of cheese on top. I was not able to finish it because of the amount of cheese it had on it. I did have a strawberry Margarita and it was really good. We stopped in at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar after 7pm on a Tuesday so it was pretty calm. The margarita had a nice kick of spice to it, good and boozy! Bacon Cheeseburger on Steroids had Monterey Jack cheese, three pieces of jalapeño bacon, three pieces of applewood smoked bacon, housemade bacon mayo, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion & pickles. The beef was cooked perfectly, super spicy jalapeño bacon enhanced by the bacon mayo - such a good sandwich! A generous side of onion rings with tasty chipotle ranch made the plate. The Smokehouse Burger has an Angus burger topped with pulled pork, pepper jack cheese, onion straws, lettuce, tomato & BBQ sauce. I had sweet potato fries on the side. The smoky sauce on the pulled pork was delicious on this burger which was also cooked perfectly. It was a great meal, our only complaint could have been that they were a little heavy handed with the salt on the fries and rings. We will definitely be back. Yes they have burgers on steroids... But they have the BEST SALAD in the state too! Not that I am a salad fan either, I'm more of a meat and potatoes guy, so when I fixate on a salad, it's going to be special. Just in case you haven't looked at the menu, you get to make your own salad out of a rather long list of ingredients... you know a choice of three or four types of leafy things, some fruits, some veggies, topping of all sorts, mushrooms, beans, crispy things, peanuts, all sorts of dressings, etc. Plus a protean - meaning you can actually get a burger patty tossed on top. I personally like the turkey burger - this is a salad after all and you can at least hold your head high in the spirit of saladness when you go with a non beef salad. It comes in two sizes, regular and really big. I've never eaten the really big one since, in the spirit of saladness, the regular is really big and the big one, well, it's HUGE. I've been eating these things for years, so I can promise that the quality is there. Our server was the sweetest and so funny! I ordered a strawberry lemonade and it was delicious, I'm a big fan of how it came with sweet strawberries at the bottom! I got the magic mushroom burger with an impossible patty and the cantina black bean burger. One order of fries is definitely more than enough for two, even three people. The magic mushroom burger was my personal favorite and was super juicy and flavorful. The cantina burger was STUFFED with toppings, literally such a huge burger and it was popping with more cantina, salsa type flavors. Been in here a handful of times. I usually get the same thing. Mushroom, Swiss and arugula grilled chicken sandwich with truffle fries. I ordered this time on lettuce wrap. My mom got the same thing. My son ordered kids tenders and truffle fries. Mom's chicken was breaded and tough. She couldn't even eat it. Son didn't eat the tenders. Everything was greasy and the fries heavy on the salt. Waitress was very nice however failed to inform me that my son was getting the adult portion of tenders, so I was charged a lot and no mention of up charge for truffle fries either. She spoke with manager who adjusted the bill to the kids meal price but still upcharged me for the fries. I like this place but the menu just isn't my cup of tea and too greasy for me. I like this location! More of a restaurant with a small bar, whereas the Woodruff Road location is more of a bar, with a restaurant - and definitely smells like spilled beer! This location is bright and fresh, full of windows and very airy. Same menu here as at the Woodruff Road location. I like to get the burger, and they have options to size up the patty for a small fee, get grass fed beef for $2 upcharge, and also numerous non-beef options. Another upcharge option is to get a salad for your side ($2), rather than fries. The salads here are great, with fresh, crunchy veggies on them and nice springy greens. Avocado is one of the 7 toppings allowed, yum, and for all of them, you get a nice portion. I'm glad this location has opened!
