Ordered the carne asada mulita and it was incredible. Homemade tortillas, super flavorful carne…read moreasada, and the cheese was delicious. Portion size was HUGE and totally worth it. Seating is outside, perfect for a nice day. Oscar and the team are amazing -- they genuinely treat you like family and make the experience even better. You can feel the love they put into the food. Highly recommend. This spot is a must-try and I'll definitely be back.

It's always taco time so I wanted to give this place a try. Decided to stick to corn tortillas…read moresince they make them on site (but still a fan of flour tortillas). Wound up ordering a birria quesadilla and 3 Al pastor tacos. All with corn tortillas but they charge you $2 extra for corn tortilla on the quesadilla but they didn't charge for the consume which was good. The corn tortilla for the quesadilla was a bit thick for my preference but I think that's the only way to keep all the meat inside and not break. I suggest getting the flour tortilla on quesadillas. But, the birria meat and consume were really good. And, you get a lot of meat in a quesadilla. It's big enough for 2 people. Al pastor was good too. Still need to try the carne asada. They charge 2% fee for credit cards so bring cash unless you ordered online. No parking except street parking which can suck around dinner time as they get busy. They also have few seats inside so you see people order ahead (online or phone) and double park to pick up. And, it's best if you speak some Spanish to communicate. Having said all this, perhaps a 3.5 is my rating.

If you're craving authentic antojitos from Ciudad Guzmán in the southern region of Jalisco,…read moreAntojitos Los Cuates in Compton is absolutely worth the drive. As someone who grew up enjoying the flavors of Jalisco, I had been yearning for the famous raspadas--large homemade tostadas--and the variety of traditional antojitos that are so popular back home. My family and I decided to give this place a try, so we made the drive all the way from Riverside County to Compton, and I can honestly say we were not disappointed. This is a small, family-owned restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food tastes homemade, just like the meals your mamá would make in Jalisco. You can tell that every dish is prepared with care, tradition, and pride. We ordered the tostadas, tortas ahogadas, and tacos duros, and every item was packed with authentic flavor. Unfortunately, we arrived around 3:30 PM and missed out on the pozole because they had already sold out for the day. That alone tells me it's a favorite among their customers, so I highly recommend arriving early if you're hoping to try it. The service was excellent, and despite the restaurant being very busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive. Keep in mind that this is a small family-run establishment, so your food may take a little longer to arrive. However, that's because everything is made fresh to order, and the quality is well worth the wait. Places like this are becoming harder to find. If you're looking for authentic flavors from Jalisco and want to support a hardworking family business, Antojitos Los Cuates is a hidden gem that deserves a visit. We'll definitely be back. A little taste of Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, right here in Southern California.

You can park on the main street or there's a small parking spot behind the business. Prices are a bit pricey. $17-$19 for enchiladas and tostadas. Walking into El Antojito feels like you're entering a telenovela scene where everyone is waiting in…read moreline to order from the food truck, and everyone knows your name, even if it's your first time. The staff moves fast, smiles hard, and somehow remembers your order better than you do. Blink too slow and your order will pass you up. It's chaotic in the best "my family is loud but loving" way. This spot is open till 2am on Friday and Saturday. Imagine a place that says, "We're here to feed you, not impress you with mood lighting." It's bright, lively, and filled with the soundtrack of sizzling food, and orders constantly being called. The décor is simple, clean but the vibe is pure Gardena comfort, no pretension, just flavor and vibes. If you have those late night cravings for street food? Oh, it's dangerous. The kind of good where you take one bite and immediately start tearing into the rest with such joy and comfort. Every dish tastes like it was made by someone who refuses to let you leave hungry. The flavors slap, the portions are generous, and the tortillas taste like they were handcrafted by angels who specialize in carbs. Oh, how could I not talk about the drinks and desserts, this is something you need to see for yourself, words cannot describe the things they have for that sweet tooth craving. Mmmm, pure heaven!
