Was feeling hungry so I decided to try their food since there's a big sign that says BEST IN L.A. it was already past 8pm and there were still people buying food. I got this spot only because my usual spot Manny's Birria Taco truck was unavailable and I had seen this truck so I thought I'd give it a try. First off it is way overpriced for what you get. My wife and I ordered 4 tacos, 2 consomes a prepackaged (not freshly made) horchata and a coke for a total of $41. Right off the bat we thought the consome would be included like most places. Instead it felt like restaurant pricing without the restaurant quality. The food tasted really salty and old. Almost like if they reused food from the day before that they didn't sell. Bland birria tastes like boiled beef. The Tacos were a good size but no flavor. They don't give enough condiments either it was a tiny bag with onions and hardly any cilantro. They're posted inside an old used car lot on the corner of San Fernando and Bromwich in Pacoima so parking is good. Better than being on the main street. Tacos are still bomb. Salsa roja is too fire. amazing tacos de birria estilo Tijuana. I stopped here last night to grab some dinner and it was pouring rain. I got two tacos dorados and a consomé and let me tell you it hit the spot. The consomé was so good super flavorful and the broth had the right touch to the tacos dorados. They are in a parking lot off San Fernando rd but it is not hard to miss. The girl at the counter was super friendly and called me from the speaker when my order was ready I was waiting inside my car since it was cold. We used to love this truck! But unfortunately their quality and flavor of food has changed for the worst. We ordered a quesa taco, a taco dorado, a quesadilla, a burrito and consomé. The flavor of the birria was bad. I'm not sure if it was the weekend's leftovers or what. The cilantro was definitely old, and my daughter's taco dorado was so stale she couldn't even bite through the tortilla! It was like rubber! The burrito was mostly beans (which weren't even good! This place by my friend's house just might have the best birria I've ever had, random no-name stand in Tijuana included. The generous serving of flavorful, melt in your mouth meat was perfect! I ordered one of everything to get because, it looked and smelled amazing and so I know what to get next time. The soft tacos we're good but the moistness of the beef can make it a bit soggy if not eaten right away. I thought I'd like the quesotaco the most but the cheese in the end wasn't really necessary. For me, the taco dorado was the best taco, perfect combination of braised beef and a crunchy shell. Then finally the consome which was simply amazing with generous chunks of beef and a broth so good, you'll probably end up drinking it. In the end anything you order here is amazing like the people who work there. I just recommend an ice cold coke towash it all down with. This was my first time trying this birria truck out, gave it a shot because hubby has previously tried out their birria at their Whittier location and really liked it. He mentioned he noticed they now have a truck closer to home, no more than a 10 minute drive. So.....decided to make it a taco Thursday for dinner :) got tacos, consomé , mulita and a vampiro. Truck was very clean, menu and prices right up front with photos, and service was quick and friendly. They also have aguas frescas and a good selection of Mexican bottle sodas- I opted for a Sangria Señorial which is one of my fav!!
