Amazing food and service!! Recommend the passion fruit boba and pupasas. I got the pork and chicken pupasas that came with pickled veggies and a delicious tomatoe sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the boba was. So refreshing!

Went today around 4pm, it was closed. I thought it was supposed to be open until 9pm. Was really looking forward to trying their pupusas.

This is not the case of Sivar's.... I've been coming to this small hole in the wall, in a middle of a busy Central American mall, next to Super Mercado in Hillsboro and I am keeping it to my heart. There is this amazing strong woman who is an angel in the kitchen! I have been trying her pupusas since she opened her place.... amazingly delicious and honestly prepared, right there, in front of you. I have been drinking her Atol de Elote and I love it... no milk. Horchata is amazing, no milk, just rice cinnamon water sugar and morro fruit. I'm talking about Salvadoran horchata here, not the milk infused Mexican stuff. Please, don't get me wrong, the Mexican horchata is delicious but the milk, it kills me, especially the condensed milk. What else? Caldo de res, beef soup. Holly smokes! Do you want beef soup that you eat it with a spoon? No need to cut your beef with a knife, because the meat was so tender and deliciously blended. Her work team and her efforts are incredible; this is my secret spot when I want to eat like a human, no industrial food here!

I had smoked chicken with beans and pickled vegetables, and my mom had the same; we also split a salad. My father had the three tacos with smoked chicken. We all thought the smoked chicken was to die for, and we all enjoyed making our own tacos with the provided corn tortillas. The meal came with two salsas. One was green and delicious, and I've never had the red one; it was hotter, but really good too. The service was great here as well; it had a family-like feel. The man who took our order appeared to be the restaurant's owner, possibly, and was very polite and knowledgeable, and he helped us make sure we ordered exactly what we wanted. The food came out rather quickly, but didn't taste rushed. I like the restaurant's ambiance; it was cozy and comfortable. I think there's outdoor seating as well, but we sat inside. I ate here one time maybe 15 years ago, and after seeing the reviews on Yelp, I gave it another try, and I am very glad that I did. My family and I will be back to try more of your food offerings.

Upon entering the restaurant I really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. Although it was small and busy it felt very comfortable and laid back. I ordered the Canchánchara cocktail and was very impressed with the taste of the drink. Along with that I ordered the Vaca Frita with plantanos. The shredded beef was so delicious and the salad was probably my favorite part of the dish. Combine the salad with the beef and it was the perfect combination. Unfortunately they were out of empanadas so next time I'm in the area I would love to give those a try!

They have both indoor and outdoor seating and we arrived around 9 pm and were sat down immediately even though the restaurant seemed busy. Luckily we were there during happy hour. Waitress was polite even though they were super busy! I would also say prices were average. We ordered a bacan de pollo, camarones al ajillo con setas, ropa vieja, chocolate, canchanchara, passion fruit limonade, flan and pudin. I absolutely loved the avocado salad in the camarones of ajillo. My boyfriend said the ropa vieja plate was solid. I wasn't the biggest fan of the bacan. I just feel the flavors weren't there compared to the other plates. The highlight of the night for me personally were chocolate drink and pudin. I cannot speak on the flan as I did not taste it. Pudin was absolutely yummy, not too sweet and the chantilly was sweet and creamy. The hot chocolate was absolutely delicious and I loved the mint twist in it. I don't know when we will be in Portland again but I can't wait to try their empanadas and their other desserts!

(Please don't go to Harlowe for this.) And their arepas. They use this flower, right? Like an actual flower for flavor in some arepas and sauces. These were available when I went, but they may no longer be due to being seasonal, but the guava empanada is a fantastic desert, and the Hawaiian empanada is so good it isn't fair having to choose between getting just one plus another flavor or getting two. Reliable hours, friendly server, and easy to get a hold of on the phone. (Plus there are usually dogs around when you sit nearby so that's always a fantastic experience)

Their sauce is incredible. Put your leftover sauce on your eggs. Put it on your baked potatoes. Try it as a crema with a little added lemon juice, drizzled over a salad. And the PUPUSAS.
