Great location but hard to find parking when it's busy during the day. This place makes my top 5 so far. Ceremonial grade matcha? Yes, please. If you're looking for super sweet tea drinks, this is not the place for you. It's well balanced and more on the bitter side with a dash of syrup. This is how I like my drinks. We ordered the project matcha latte and jasmine matcha latte with oat milk. *milk substitute is oat or almond but no soy milk. They have a coconut based matcha drink though! Prices are reasonable and on par with other tea spots. I really enjoyed our drinks. Perfect proportion for jasmine and matcha, one did not overpower the other. Not super sweet. You can taste the quality. I am so excited to come back and try more drinks. They also have a few other treats, like brownies. For kids, they have non caffeinated drinks. Staff is friendly and quick. Don't get me wrong, this place is really good. I just tend to lean towards other places when I want somewhere to grab a drink or a pastry. PROS: - the matcha brownie is so so so good - the banana matcha is also!!! so so so good!! - their stuff is pretty good in general, really - employees are friendly - clean interior; nice place - by Powell's and a Goodwill (two of my fav places lol) CONS: - loud and busy - the line to order is always insane. Even just to get inside takes ages. It's crazy - very pricey. Like, very. I was happy to hear that Project Matcha opened in the Beaverton area. Staff: friendly and very nice! I actually dropped by once but the line was so long, I left. The system of making the drinks slowed down a lot because of it but when I went this time, it was less busy and I think the system of making the drinks was a bit better so it was faster. Environment: They're simplistic, minimalist vibe and it looks nice and clean. You can see the people make the tea right in front of you. Drink: I got their regular matcha latte, iced, slightly sweet. The taste was very interesting. I mixed it up really well but it tasted like milk and the aftertaste had a bit of matcha flavor. The tea flavor was subtle for my liking. This was my first time at their new location and I like the clean aesthetic inside! I ordered the strawberry jasmine matcha and it wasn't as sweet as I anticipated it to be - not sure if I'd order this again, but I'd be back for sure! We also got the smores mochi cookie and banana pudding matcha and both were delish - I liked the chewy and soft texture of the cookie! Cute matcha spot located in a very busy retail area. Outdoor seating area is nice but this may present as an issue once summer is over. The menu offerings are great. I ordered a coconut matcha based off the staff recommendation. It was delicious. read more

So glad Project Matcha opened a spot in Beaverton. The parking here is much better than the Portland location and the interior and seating option is more comfortable and spacious. There are large empty white walls within the space which could be filled with the menu instead of it being on a small stand by the ordering counter. Perhaps they could add a menu QR code by the door for those waiting in line and don't know what's on the menu. Nonetheless if you're paying attention to the matcha scene in town you probably already know what drinks to expect from PM. I tried the Raspberry Vanilla matcha latte with regular milk this trip and it was perfect - not too overly sweet, tart or creamy like I've experienced with other matcha spots that load up on the sugar and milk. There wasn't a long line when I visited so I got my drink in about 10 minutes. They also have food offerings coming soon. I took a photo of the menu but they didn't serve any when I visited. I visited the new location on a weekday and there was a small line that extended indoors only. I wish they posted the menu on the window/by the entrances. The only menu I saw was right at the cashier which gave little time to decide without feeling rushed. There's more seating inside and outside compared to the eastside location. There were around 4-5 baristas working at the same time. I got the Matcha Einspanner and I think it was better than when I tried it at the OG location a while back. Solid matcha, tried the banana cream as well as the coconut cream. I'm sensitive to matcha/caffeine and so the coconut has been a nice compromise for me. Inside is aesthetic and modern and they have seating inside and outside. There are not a lot of seating options bc the place is fairly compact but luckily because of the area there are quite a few other places around that you can sip and yap. Checked out the new Project Matcha while we were in Beaverton. We went on a Thursday afternoon. From the time we got in line to time we got our drinks we waited approximately 20 minutes. The interior was nice & open. Employees were friendly & there is indoor & outdoor seating. We got a banana cream matcha & an ube latte which were both delicious! The only reason I took a star away was because we only got 3/4 of our ube latte when we asked for light ice :(. We were a little disappointed that we weren't warned beforehand because we just wanted to take cute pics :(. read more

There's a good amount of seating inside and outside of the store. The vibes were pretty nice, I saw a lot of folks studying or just hanging out which is pretty telling of how great the ambiance was. We were probably only in line for a few minutes, the line moved pretty fast! We got the banana cream latte with oat milk, and a yuzu tonic. We came around 4 pm and they were out of a lot of items, I was so sad! I'll have to come back again and try their coconut cloud another time. :) the banana cream latte.. SUPERB. Creamy, banana goodness. The matcha wasn't drowned out by the cream, it was so good!! The yuzu tonic was alright, I think for the girlies who like a slightly fizzy lemonade matcha, this is the drink for you. It's refreshing, slightly bitter, slightly fizzy, not sweet. I stopped by for the opening Saturday, sadly leaving my mobile device for making photos in the car. Am I going to get out of line to go back to the car for the phone? No. Project Matcha is a Portland business, not a chain, with their original location on NE Couch. They both often have a queue. The queue didn't seem social. Customers were families, teens, twenties. Matcha is a suspension of finely ground tea leaves. I watched their team of about 10 at work. They measure the matcha powder into a fine strainer. They work it through the strainer. Then they whisk it into water. If you bring your pure matcha drink home and let it settle, the powder will settle out. Over time, their pure matcha became sweeter. You can bring pure matcha home and rewhisk it. With a staff of 9 or 10, the price of matcha powder per serving, and their quality toppings, I think their price is very reasonable. The process of espresso and brewed coffee is much, much, less labor intensive. The space is larger than NE with 6 round tables and about 3 chairs worth of each. Architecturally and design-wise inside I found some imperfections such as plastic plants and undistinguished vases. That is their vision. Outside they had some tables and lounges which we hope are occupied in fair weather. The building can wrap the line under a roof resistant to rain to the North side of the building. Otherwise in rain, plan to stand in rain in queue. I had the pure matcha and the banana-creme matcha on reports from friends. Both recommended. For their sweet drinks they use quality ingredients and the drinks are not overly sweet. The staff with black uniforms was excellent and enthusiastic despite the opening crush. Super clean and neat operation. Plentiful free parking in the area. If you are in the Cedar Hills Beaverton area, this is a good way to experience matcha. The milk + sweet tea drink world in Portland and environs is in overdrive. The overdrive world is not going to have the quality focus of Project Matcha. read more

I anticipate the line to be bonkers esp on weekends as the weather gets warmer and recommend coming midday if you can. Great quality drink. Didn't love the dairy milk. i'm so pleasantly surprised to see that Project Matcha has arrived in Beaverton! Cedar Hills Crossing is a great location for them, they fit in well there. the only downside of that area is parking can be atrocious at times. i stopped by today and grabbed a matcha latte. i had them make it similar to their einspanner but without the sweet cream foam to avoid cow's milk. they were able to accommodate me and the latte was great! it was flavorful with notes of vanilla without being overly sweet. i don't care for oat milk, so i was happy to find they offer almond. i hope maybe they will consider carrying soy in the future, but almond will suffice for now. i noticed they didn't have their special salted brown sugar matcha latte on the menu that is offered at the SE Portland location. hopefully that will find its way to the Beaverton location menu. :) other than that, the baristas were friendly and helpful, and the space had a nice vibe and clean aesthetic. i look forward to enjoying more matcha here. read more

Good matcha drinks, however, the service is a bit odd. Even with long lines, the person taking orders initiates sometimes long conversations. I'm definitely happy they're friendly, but it's excessive. I recommend the banana cream matcha, einspanner, and the matcha blondie. read more

Green powder and milk. Overrated for the cost $7.50 and mostly ice. Nothing special. There's a lot of other better options on west side.

I have experienced significantly better matcha that tasted far superior to a low-quality matcha brand I purchased from Amazon. The service was relatively fast despite the long line outside, but I do not anticipate returning, as the quality was not satisfactory. :( read more
