I was so jazzed to come here after all the kudos and segments on this place. Finally got here today. The place is a bit to get to from Evanston. The staff are super friendly. Parking is pretty easy to find on a Sunday. We ordered the guac, and essentially one of everything. We snapped pics of the fabulous meats all ready to serve. The drinks arrived quickly and the food started arriving right behind. Hot tortillas and crispy coro(sp?) frijoles, Wow The only thing for me and the seven of us (5 gringos) was that we couldn't find enough flavors. It was porky for sure but even the beans weren't creamy and missed seasoning. I guess the onions and cilantros and salsas were supposed to supplement the pork. But alas it wasn't enough for us. Food was 1.5 stars service 4.

Hands down some of the best Carnitas I've had!!! Chicago..... you must try!!

Food, ambience and SERVICE is great! Workers are all vet friendly! And the Carnitas no doubt are some of the BEST I've had.

I came here to grab takeout for a party of 6 people and it was definitely worth it for the price. The shredded pork and the crispy skin made for a good lunch. The pork was well seasoned and not dry. There is a good amount of fat in the pork which made it very moist. Overall good service and location.

We've had this place on our list for a long time, but haven't had a chance to go since they're closed for dinner. We had the day off and stopped in for lunch. It is very cute and spacious inside! We shared the Carnitas Especial and got an extra Taco Dorado. The highlights were the beans, tortillas and carnitas! We even got an extra side of beans to go! The carnitas were tender and flavorful, not oily or greasy, but some were dry. The tacos dorado had too little filling and were mostly fried tortilla. They bring out chicharron for the table in the beginning. We don't love chicharron and would prefer regular chips instead. The sauces were all very good too. It was the perfect amount of food for two people to share and such a good deal. I'm very interested in the cocktails, but I rarely day-drink, so I don't know when I'll be able to. We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back.

This location (formerly the Concordia establishment) is their new and third restaurant and it is absolutely stunning. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by how well-organized the restaurant is. The attentive security guard ensures smooth order, even for those waiting to be seated. The host takes your number and sends a text when your table is ready, making the wait much more convenient. There's also a free parking lot just a short walk (about a quarter block) north on Hamlin Ave. The service here is top-notch, and the food quality matches that of their other locations--without a doubt, they serve the best carnitas in the state, and arguably the entire country. We were also informed by the owner that they'll soon be offering beer and cocktails, which is exciting. They also make their tortillas in-house, and you can see the tortilla-making process by the entrance; can't never go wrong with freshly made tortillas to elevate your tasting experience! Overall, this new spot not only meets but exceeds expectations with its breathtaking atmosphere, seamless organization, mouthwatering food, and exceptional customer service. It's already becoming an icon in the Little Village neighborhood.

This location is absolutely stunning! Been to all three locations and this has to be my favorite location, we arrived before the Saturday lunch rush and were attended promptly. We got sat and at the same time they dropped off a small plate with three different salsas and chicharrón. We are from out of town so we wanted to try a bit of everything including drinks! My wife ordered a coffee, coffee had great flavor. I ordered a michelada with negra modelo, it had a good taste! Looking forward and trying their mixed drinks when I come back! We ordered a pound of mixed carnitas, guacamole with chips, tacos dorados (potato/cheese and potato/chorizo), and a side of beans. The carnitas include lime, onion, cilantro, and tortillas. I cannot express how good everything was, including the service. Waitress was very attentive!

I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas they were expensive but excellent! Came out on a sizzling plate. I tried the Habernita drink and sangria. The habernita drink had mezcal, orange, pineapple, and habanero so had a nice kick to it. My friend told server it was my birthday secretly and they came out with a sparkler had birthday music playing and shots of tequila for my table! We had a great time and I will definitely be back! We also were the only people in the restaurant at one point and the service was still very slow. We sat for about ten minutes with our empty plates in front of us before our waitress came to check on us. She was very kind, I just felt maybe a little more attentive could have been nice. I got the cucumber gin cocktail which was the highlight for me! For our food we got the Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken tacos, and the chips and guacamole. You could tell the chips were homemade and were so light and crunchy. I loved that the tacos had bite sized pieces of grilled chicken in them, and they were seasoned so nicely. Overall a nice lunch!

I must admit that I had low expectations because quite frankly, I have not enjoyed Mexican food outside of Mexico or California. However, we were hungry, and it was near where we were staying, so I decided we should check it out, and I am so glad we did! The food was great. Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous. It is a small establishment, and it gets a good amount of people, so I assume that there are waits during peak hours. I highly recommend Sabroso! And we plan to return the next time we are in the area.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

We came later on a Monday night so we did not have to wait to get a seat although it was still pretty busy. The place is decorated nicely. Well on a block with many other Mexican businesses. Located right off the pink line it is very easy to get to and also noted to be near the Mexican art Institute. The chicken mole enchiladas were delicious. Spicy and bitterness of the chocolate balanced super well. rice was also cooked perfectly. The shredded beef dish was short rib and mashed potatoes. They were meant to be assembled into a homemade tortilla - a very interesting concept. The homemade tortillas were so warm and fluffy. I have never had such good tortillas. I took a tamale plate home. It was large and had a good portion of shredded pork. Super flavorful, but also I felt the texture might've been firmer than I would've expected.

The enchiladas de mole were the highlight--tender chicken coated in a rich red mole that balanced gentle heat with a subtle sweetness beautifully.
