I've never sat down to eat but have gotten take out from here quite a few times. This is definitely one of the best biryanis in cleveland. My fiancé whose Kashmiri definitely craves this place often. I'm not sure what region of India they cook (we think andhra pradesh?) their goat fry biryani is amazing!! It comes with this great sauce on the side. We've tried their other meat biryanis and this one is our favorite. We also really like their vegetarian samosas and the chicken 65. For us an order of these three is the perfect amount of food. We find their portions very generous. Couple things: their chutneys and Raita are a bit watery but flavor wise are still good. Next door is the Indian store so we always pick up more yogurt because we like a thicker consistency. Their spice level is true to scale. We usually get spicy (3/4). I always make onions soaked with lemons on the side at home but you probably could request some from the restaurant. read more

First time ordering from. Was really in mood for some Vindaloo and Naan. Tried a couple appetizers that were good and spicy. Naan was excellent. Daughter had Butter Chicken that was pretty darn good. I tried the Goat Vindaloo. Couldn't finish it because of an excess amount of bones. Virtually no meat. After picking all the bones and tiny bones out, the to go container was more than half full!!! Decided to try some authentic Indian food before we move. This business in Westlake had great reviews and decided to place our order. I ordered a few dishes I saw on the menu and told the gentleman little heat a handful of times. When I got home and we started dinner I found out this food was barely edible. Stopped in one Sunday evening and the place was pretty busy, they even had several people come in for to-go orders too. Staff seemed a little frazzled but still friendly. *Chicken Tikka Masala $10.99 - Standard amount of tastiness. I enjoyed this dish, but I thought there was too much rice so I only used half of it. *Garlic Naan $2.49 - Pretty good, and excellent for scooping up your masala with. *Chicken Puff $2.99 - Terrible. Super dry with no flavor. I threw it away. *Gobi 65 $7.99 - I think this was good, all I can remember is that my mouth was on fire and they did not include any sort of cool yogurt dipping sauce to balance out the heat. *Samosa $3.49 - Standard taste, but smaller than I am used to seeing. *Rasmalai $3.49 - Unique spongy milky slightly sweet dessert. Not bad, but one experience was good enough for me. All in all I would say this place was A-Okay. No major complaints, but I do think I've had better at Namaste and India Garden in Lakewood. If Lakewood is too far for you then I think Biryani Hut is perfectly okay to dine at. I would rate them 3.5 stars and I will probably give them another try. This was a great find in a surprising location. I went to Biryani Hut Express because of stellar yelp reviews and was impressed. It's a neat little setup in a sort-of quaint neighborhood. Hospitable staff, a decent variety on the menu, relatively speedy service and just AMAZING biryani. If you're in search of biryani that is authentic, fresh, flavorful and aromatic like it's meant to be, try their chicken biryani. It's true that biryani doesn't get the center stage in many Indian or Pakistani restaurants but BHE changed that. They have several different kinds, I started with the chicken one and hope to try others in my future visits. I also enjoyed their tandoori chicken which made a thunderous sizzling entry when served. Once again, the spices were mild on request and turned out to be perfect for my taste; its pretty refreshing to have spices augment the flavor of what ones eating instead of masking and overwhelming it. Tried Chicken Tikka Masala as well which surprisingly was mediocre; good serving size, delicious gravy but the chicken itself was a touch bland. Other factors that matter: - parking is easy and abundant - hours are tricky as the place has an afternoon break per online information. Chose to order some carry out from here after a long day out. Ordered palak paneer and paneer tikka masala. The palak paneer was a bit bland and surprisingly hardly tasted like spinach. The tikka masala was overwhelmingly sweetened and I'm not sure why. It was missing that great creamy savory flavor I love in a tikka masala. Apparently caucasians aren't welcome. Walked in. Server looked at us repeatedly but couldn't be bothered to ask if we'd like to order or sit. Another Indian man walked in and was immediately welcomed to order takeout. While we stood, still waiting, a group of 4 Indian people walked in, were greeted and were almost seated. They explained we'd been waiting longer but the server ignored them and began to seat them until they just told us to go. Then the server didn't know what to do. He seated us in the corner. Then seated the others, gave them menus and walked away. He saw me glaring and eventually brought us menus, too. Several other Indian folks walked in. They were addressed and the server gave the the other table water and again walked away without addressing us again so we walked. I was looking forward to eating as the reviews all seem to praise it it most are also by other Indian folks. Fuck this place. I hope my review costs them business. It should. Now that I've been to this place a couple of times, I know it is high time to add that extra star to my previous rating. Their biryani is delicious, I'd rather call it addictive. This being one of my favorite dishes of all times and all the cuisines, I do not mind driving a few extra miles for it. It also came with a side of chicken 65. It came as a surprise and a good one indeed. Kudos to the chef of this restaurant for bringing out the exact flavor of the type of biryani I'd get in India. The chicken in the biryani was perfectly cooked and very juicy. The spice level was just right for my liking level. I literally found a chicken piece for every morsel I ate. The food also came with a side of raita and a gravy. 12/15/2018: Me and 3 of my friends came here for dinner. I also ordered a family pack of the special boneless chicken biryani as I always do. The service seemed to be very slow and I got a feeling that they were understaffed for the evening. At the same time, the restaurant was almost full which is good for them. We did have to wait a lot for our food and given the crowd at that time, I think that is kinda ok. Whet I did not like this time is that we had to ask for cutlery, water, the green chutney for the tandoori chicken and one of the curries we ordered didn't tase like goad curry. We did ask the server if it is goat and she said yes but all of us think it wasn't goat because of a not so pleasant smell coming or of the dish. We chose not to finish it completely and managed with the chicken curry we ordered. The is the only place i make a stop every time i visit Cleveland Ohio, usually I'm here with groups all the time the way we can try different items. The one best dish makes me to stop is keema Biriyani and dosas which are exactly same as hotel dosas in india. My recent visit i had tried veg and non-veg thalis feels stunning experience all my taste buds born. Feeling sad can't stay here need drive back to home. Best Indian cuisine in the area. Unfortunately each entree does not include rice which needs to be ordered separately. Prices are high but so is quality. The inside is not nice enough to dine in. Menu on the website is confusing, lacking in pictures as well. Was not able to get a refund on an item that was unavailable but I was already charged. Not happy about that. No you won't. If it was an issue to you I would of been issued a refund on the menu item even though I never received it. And it's poor taste that rice cannot be included on the prices of the main entrees. Without a doubt, best Indian food I've tried in Cleveland! I stop here anytime I'm even remotely close to Rocky River. While the casual ambiance is nothing to write home about, the food and the service are fantastic. I order the chicken chettinad and garlic naan almost every time I go and find myself craving it even after I've cleaned my plate. I haven't seen this South Indian specialty on many Indian menus and the unique, rich flavors are executed very well here. The Crispy Masala Pepper Corn and Palak Paneer are also delicious! They stop answering calls at 9PM when the closing time is listed as 9.30 PM. The quality has dropped over time and the past few times the meat quality has been very sub par. A hidden gem that sits back off the main road. We tried it on a whim, since there's no Indian around us, and it really, REALLY hit the spot. The mango lassi was also really delicious, and wasn't overly (and artificially) sweet, but rather had a true mango flavor. I didn't get introduced to Indian food until later in life. I've since had many different Indian places, but Biryani Hut Express stands alone as my favorite. Their Biryani is the best I've ever had. Very friendly staff, and very fresh flavorful food. Great little place. Second time here and the food is awesome and truly authentic. I've had the chicken biryani twice now and the hot is perfect. It gets you a little heat/ sweat with every flavourable mouth full. Totally recommend. Oh also both times plenty to take home. They definitely give you a lot for the price. I have downgraded my rating to a 3star just for the overall consistency and taste. Not sure if the cook or management changed but the majestic chicken tastes pathetic compared to what it used to. The gongkura chicken biriyani tastes different without the taste of gangkura. The biriyani however had moist chicken and the taste even though not the same as before was okay. I've come here multiple times and the food is the best I've had in Ohio so far! The malai kofta and ofcourse the veg/paneer biryani are authentically Indian. However, for a change, I want to mention 2 separate instances of great service: 1. One time it so happened that I arrived after their closing lunch hours, but yet they provided me with a biryani to-go. 2. Another time I'd placed a to-go order but was going to arrive post their dinner closing hours. I didn't have any hopes of a dinner that night, however again they amazed me by suggesting that they will place my order outside the restaurant at a hidden location (sshhh) and there it was! Simply for the above two cases, I would give them another star for a 6 star rating. Ordered goat Biryani and it was 18$ and not even a single good piece of meat. I called them and they offered to make another one but i was so mad that i said nope. Never ordering anything from them anymore. Once they made chicken tandoori which was raw from inside and i have a picture of that and they paid me my money back. Shameful 18$ for a biryani with 2-3 very small pieces of meat. Lost a customer today. I ordered samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, gobi manchurian, garlic naan, salt lassi, and mango lassi. The mango lassi is just maaza mango juice, couldn't taste the yogurt in it. I got this for my boyfriend and he liked it but agreed that it wasn't tart enough. The salt lassi was waaaaay too salty, I ended up mixing it with some yogurt I had at home to dilute the salt. The gobi manchurian was also way too salty and there was absolutely no gravy at all. The gobi was good but there were a bunch of pieces that were just fried up dough, no cauliflower inside! Gobi manchurian is supposed to be tomato-y and mildly saucy and this was just fried cauliflower that was very salty. Even dry gobi manchurian is tossed in manchurian sauce but this was just fried. It was pretty tasty but just not really what i ordered. The paneer tikka masala... what they sent was shahi paneer. It was good but again not tomato-y and onion-y like paneer tikka masala should be. The garlic naan was pretty good. I asked for raw onion and white rice which they sent and that was very kind. The samosas are also not bad but there was no green chutney sent... not sure how to eat samosa without chutney. Last thing is that i asked for all of this to be spicy and it was not spicy at all so next time i will add a note saying extra spicy please. If I were craving Indian food again and didn't feel like making it I would probably order from here again but if you're used to authentic Indian food this is just a solid 3 stars. read more
