We tried their Friday special- Chitti mutyala biryani and it was so flavorful. Would love little bit more chicken in it though.

Came in a cast iron pan. Not too spicy, good for my 12 yo son. Butter chicken (not too spicy) Special Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani some pieces of chicken on top, then a large amount of delicious rice then slow cooked dark meat fall off the bone chicken at the bottom. Huge portion. Special Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani was amazing as well. Both of those dishes do not have sauce. So, we ordered 2 tikki masala sauces on the side. 2 Large gravy boats of sauce. This was my favorite part of the meal. I poured it on everything. Creamy, similar to the butter chicken sauce but a little spicier. 1 Garlic Naan 1 Butter Naan We should have gotten 2 garlic naans instead. Best Naan we've had in a while. Freshly made. Service was awesome. Restaurant is brand new and clean. We moved here from the west coast where there are tons of Indian food restaurants and have been on the search for a good one. Found it!!! Better than Blue Taj IMO. This family moved here a year ago from the west coast and had a restaurant there. This restaurant is a hidden gem! Near the home depot in promenade shopping center. So glad we tried it.

They made sure we were looked after and checking intermittently if everything was good and if we needed anything else. I ordered the Pudi Dosa which was spicy and delicious. I'm so happy to have this restaurant in Charlotte (it's minutes from home, which is even better)…read more We just had their Banana leaf grand feast and it was delicious! Top notch service and hospitality, food served with smiles and pride. Grand feast has 25 items served on a banana leaf in a thali style serving. (Pictures taken were still short of some items.) Each and every item on the banana leaf reminds you of food back home and was tasty. My personal favorites were the paneer, dosa, mung salad, sambhar, puliyogare and kheer. Service for such a feast is no easy feat, and they did a marvelous job in serving food effortlessly and so efficiently. Hats off! They have a loyal customer in us, and we will be back soon. Restaurant seating was changed to accommodate community style feast serving, but place was neat and well maintained. My husband is from Bangalore, so this food hits home for us. So happy to have Aahaar so close by.

We were a…read morelittle hesitant walking into the restaurant since both the parking lot and the dining area looked empty. However, the staff was warm and welcoming and we were seated immediately. The food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. The Malabar parotta and mutton biryani (made with zeera samba rice) were a pleasant surprise. It came with raita and kurma- brought back fond memories of Tamil Nadu. The mango fish curry was finger-licking good, but the crab pepper masala was just okay. The person who brought out the food(I believe he was the chef) was very polite and professional. The bill came to around $90 including tip. Although I felt the food was slightly overpriced, the quality of the food, ambience, and service made it worth every penny. I'd definitely come back again, especially on a Sunday to try their live appam and paya.

Staff moving at the speed of a snail on annual leave, no communication, just vibes (bad ones). Order was wrong (shock), chips were cold, drink tasted like it needed counselling. Courtney was starving and trying to be polite because she's a good girl, but I could tell she was disappointed and as a MOTHER that's where I draw the line. No apology, no urgency, no pride. If you don't want to work here then don't, but don't take it out on paying customers and their children. Courtney deserves better and frankly so do I. Sort it out. -- Sharon x

The menu is large and while I think there is room to explain more of the dishes for those who are not familiar, I think overall it is a good spot for the novice Indian food goer. It was not busy for lunch but service was good and the food came out hot and quickly. I was with some novice eaters, so multiple Tikka Masala's hit the table but they all enjoyed what they ordered. The restaurant itself is nicely done and clean. I'll definitely go back to try some other dishes.

I was…read moresurprised to see it so empty when we arrived but perhaps that was due to it being right before a holiday weekend. I had seen rave reviews about the naan. So I made it a point to order some. It did not disappoint. The naan had a delicious smoked flavor to it. I ordered the goat vindaloo. You can choose from three levels of spice and true to form I went theory the hottest. The goat was very tender. The serving was large and I had to take half of it to go. Some minor criticisms that did not impact my rating: the amount of basmati that comes with the meal is disproportionately small compared with the entree. $4 for raita seems a bit excessive. There were a few bug issues - they need better pest control (might just be because of summer and thankfully it was just a beetle and a couple flies that were flitting about). At any rate the food was outstanding and I plan to return again soon.

Will say though, as other have noted, Mild spice was still just a little more than I'd want...wonder if there is a .5 mild option? Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken were also excellent! Best part? The menu is easy to navigate with plenty of description to help guide choices. They do have a daunting number of choices though! Took a while to filter through it. I'm very easy about this but made hard to ask about items. 2nd went in to pickup order wasn't ready they didn't have knowledgeable cashier to show me details before paid. Had to pay to even see receipt. Weird but order was right thankfully. 3rd they told me food is not ready at time stated which is fine. Waited additional 30 still no message food ready. Went back in was told they meant to reach out. 4th leave with food takes less than 10 minutes to get home. All food is ice cold. The salmon, yogurt rice and garlic naan. Ice cold . Salmon is delicious even cold. Yogurt rice has uncooked rice and so much yogurt it's soup (not good at all). Garlic naan doesn't taste like any garlic and if you know naan, it's not good cold. Mango lasses no issue. I wanted to call to express displeasure but wasn't sure would understand so headed to microwave. Would return for tikka fish (salmon) again. The rest is a no thank you
