Overall, would not recommend this place. I encountered very racist and bigoted treatment here. I placed an online order last night and went by for the pick up. When I approached the front counter, the lady present was very standoffish with me. I informed her of why I was there and she asked my name for the order. Upon giving her my name she then glared at me and literally asked me to recite my entire order lol! I showed her my online receipt in which she then insisted I still tell her my order. She brushed away my receipt and let another customer cut in front of me. Interestingly, the customer told her his name and she retrieved his order with no issue and was very friendly with him. To note, I was the only Black person present at that time. When I inquired as to why that customer wasn't asked to recite his entire order, she grinned and said that he's a "regular" and that I was "new." She went on to let a few other customers cut in front of me. I then asked for my money back in which she refused to return. Even when I asked for the manager, she said he was very busy. I made several requests for this resulting in her saying no and refusing to return my money. I then noted to her I'm calling the authorities in which I did. Furthermore, while servicing some of the other patrons, she would speak in another language with them while they looked at me and start laughing and staring me down. Eventually, the manager came out. He presented himself professionally and upon explaining what occurred he apologized and said it was unacceptable. He even offered me a drink with my meal and asked that I please accept the order instead and wanted to make things right. I took him at face value and said fine. While the situation was remedied, I definitely will not be returning to this restaurant. I researched some of the other reviews and came across several where other Black patrons have had similar racially motivated experiences here. That tells me there's a common practice of racism here. I refuse to support a business where this kind of behavior is tolerated. I have zero tolerance for bigots of any kind. Overall, the experience was a waste of my time and very dehumanizing. To hate someone you don't even know simply because of their skin pigmentation and ethnicity is irrational at best and bad for business especially in a place like Oakland where it's multicultural. My advice would be to not support this establishment. I especially advise any Black patrons not to come here as they clearly have issue with anyone who is simply Black, despite not knowing them as a person. Don't give your money, nor your valuable time, to hateful individuals who dehumanize others. All in all, this place gets a thumbs down. read more

This place holds a special place in my heart for reasons I won't entirely get into here, but basically I came here during one of the hardest times of my life and this food was always delicious and the restaurant was always calm and clean. I like that it was relatively not busy although there were always a lot of orders being picked up. I highly recommend checking them out today. read more

I am a baby when it comes to spicy which does not ever bode well for me at south Asian restaurants but my husband is Pakistani so I'm also not a stranger to it. We got the chicken biryani and though it took about 30 minutes, it as a huge hit. We also got Chicken tikka masala 3.5/5 flavor wise it's good but not amazing the main issue is that it really only comes with like 3 small pieces of chicken so if you get this, you're better off getting another chicken dish for more protein Lamb curry 5/5 surprisingly AMAZING? It was tender and not gamey and so flavorful. It was less a curry and more like a lamb CTM. My husband and I ate it with naan. Plain Naan 5/5 fluffy and warm and delicious Garlic naan 4.5/5 yummy but we actually preferred the plain naan Chicken bqq (forgetting the official name) 3/5 this was good but TERRIBLY spicy for me and even my husband said it has quite the punch. It was also on the drier side TLDR: I would say don't come here already *super* hungry but if you can be patient the food is worth the price & wait overall. OK, excuse me what? Why did no one tell me that there's Pakistani food this good at a restaurant in the Bay? With VEGAN options?! I consider myself an official authority on Pakistani food, VIP card holding and wow I'm impressed! we've never even seen Naan this fluffy and full of good ingredients! Of course I ordered aloo and garlic naan. I just need to ask them what ingredients are in the naans because they are unreal! The veg biryani is full of my favorite potatoes. Finally, someone makes biryani with potatoes and long cut chili peppers and my fam says the flavor composition is just right. I didn't get to eat much of it because I also have to ask them if there is yogurt or dairy in it, but I did taste the potatoes and they were just perfect. Honestly, don't like options like broccoli in my biryani, but I was taught to never complain about food. hopefully they will make this correction and not throw a veggie frozen bag in the biryani ( unless people in that area want broccoli in their biryani) Still great use of real Cardamom and spices! Def a vegetarian sure pick! I also ordered daal, pakoras and samosas. I was so surprised because the samosas taste so fresh and homemade! they come with a side of channa. I love the filling inside of the Samosas and the batter but also the chutney they give you is like homemade Pakistani chutney with mint green chili, cilantro lemon ( I'm guessing that that's what the mixture here) . Tried Biryani Tika Kabab with some family friends recently. We sampled a variety of dishes including the eggplant, lamb vindaloo, biryani, and roti amongst others. The food was excellent, honestly some of the best I've had recently. Great flavors, well spiced, and good textures. The restaurant is basically run by the owner who wanders around and brings the food. The vibe of this place is a low key family run joint. This review comprises three different visits for takeout. Lamb tikka masala, cheese naan: these were both very good. Plain naan: Decent, nothing particularly memorable about it. Shahi paneer: Maybe I got it on a bad day but it was definitely underseasoned and very plain-tasting. It was also quite red so I wondered if it was very tomato heavy in how they made it. This was the only dish I was rather disappointed by in the recent visits and I hope it was only a one-off. Malai kofta: It was really good flavorful and salty, a little spicy, quite nutty and firm. I've had more consistently good experiences with this, more so than the paneer tikka masala and shahi paneer. read more

The best Indian food in Oakland - and it aint even close! Its hard to put into words how delicious the food is at Biryani Tika Kabab. I love Indian food and have tried just about every Indian restaurant in Oakland and San Francisco. Ive been impressed with many of the options but none have made me feel the way Biryani Tika Kabab has. The curry and sauces they make are filled with complex notes that make my mouth water. Heck, I just finished my dinner and Im already fantasizing about left overs. You get two pieces of naan per order, also, which is a good amount. We've tried traditional, onion and sesame and all have been incredible, chewy and crisp. We have tried many dishes but our favorites are the Vege Korma, and Bhindi Gosht. The chicken tika masala is standout as well. You cannot go wrong with your order. The restaurant is spacious and service is very kind and very quick - wonderful staff. Great spot for Indian food in Oakland. It's very much a family run restaurant and that adds to the ambiance. The portions are really big and lots of options. I got the chicken tikka masala, the aloo naan and a mango lassi to wash it down. Also we got a chicken Briyani for the table. The mango lassi was delicious, i could taste the real mango in it. The chicken tikka came out pipping hot and it stayed super hot the entire time I was eating. The aloo naan which is naan stuffed with potato was really delicious and not something I've seen offered before so I needed to try it as I love aloo tikki which I'm surprised they did have. The only thing is you get 4 giant pieces and after one you're pretty stuffed because of how heavy it is with the potato. The chicken briyani had whole pieces of chicken in it and I was expecting there to be shredded pieces mixed in so that was different but the chicken fell off the bone from being so tender so definitely delicious! read more

This place is fire! The host is hilarious and he's very knowledgeable of the clientele and the various background that come into the restaurant and try their food. Being from West Africa flavor is very important to me and texture is too! Anytime I go to any restaurant I order the most popular dish and then I also ordered a vegetarian dish right after that And I also at some point asked to try their spicy as Hot sauce. I have done all three at this restaurant and they have passed every single step! How do I arrive at a Pakistani restaurant and feel like I just left a Guinean restaurant/home. Wild. The host said a lot of West African come to eat there and I can tell why. My first order was there special vegetable biryani, my second order was Bhindi masala extra spicy. Part of my first order the host insisted that I tried their spiciest Hot Sauce and it tasted like I said just like home. I don't know how they do it. I don't know who is stepping it up in the kitchen, but bless you and your talent! This place is the best in town. I came to Biryani Tika Kabab recently and I gotta say the food was super solid. What I got: lamb curry, keema naan, aloo naan, fish tandoori, and chicken biryani. In particular I really loved the keema naan which came with a good amount of of meat on it. And I also really really enjoyed the chicken biryani. The lamb curry was solid and the fish tandoori was so tender and juicy. Keep in mind though I think the fish they use is catfish and it does have a muddy taste to it as catfish usually does. Also the green sauce was pretty herbaceous and spicy and complimented the food really well! The servers were nice and I love that the restaurant kept the previous place's decoration which gives Biryani Tika kabab a cute charm. read more

Oh boy! It's oily, greasy, fatty and full of carbs, but you bet I enjoyed every flavorful hot bite I took, and it's not like I want to have the incredible biryani and lamb curry everyday. The biryani is full of spice and flavor, I could take it home and even combine it with some extra boiled rice. The lamb similarly, extremely rich and meant for multiple meals easily. In moderation, this meal is a delight to your visual, gustatory and olfactory senses (tactile too if you opt to eat the biryani with your hands in true fashion), take it home and enjoy it over the next couple days as the taste simmers into the meat too. I did take consideration that it was hot all day yet it's a restaurant and they should be checking their food. Everything we tried was very flavorful and tasty. We had the chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, half tandoori chicken, vegetable samosas, cheese naan, and garlic naan. Very good food. The owner was very nice and his daughter was adorable. The food took a little while to come out and the daughter stared directly at us from the next table the entire time, but when the food came he finally told her to stop staring and go to the front desk. The restaurant was empty when we got there but two tables came in toward the end of our meal. It seems they do a lot of delivery orders. 4.5 stars. Excellent food, owner takes a little time warming up to you. We came here on a federal holiday evening so parking was quite easy to get (street parking only). Got seated immediately. This is our first time and we were visiting from out of the bay, so we asked what he recommended and he curtly said, "read the menu!" We ended up ordering the goat and the chicken biryanis and the prawn karahi with a garlic naan and some tea to end the meal with. They were nice enough to tell us that the food will take time. Turns out that preparation really helps as we were pleasantly surprised when the food came out quicker than anticipated. The biryanis were excellent! Good spice level, separated and colorful rice, well-cooked chicken and goat meat. Both biryanis had a homemade effect to them, which I absolutely adored!! The prawn karahi was more oily than I appreciate but the flavor and spice level was excellent! I would still recommend doing chicken or goat/lamb for the karahi, the prawns don't exactly fit with the karahi concept. With the garlic naan, the karahi was super yummy! The tea was ok but I like a certain kind of tea, which pretty much no one except my mother and I make, so I wasn't surprised. Quantities were decent. Definitely lasting the two of us for two meals. All in all, I was very happy with the food with the exception of the oil in the karahi. The owner did warm up to us through the course of our meal and we left on really good terms. I always go to Delicious Curry House because the food is great, the service I've is fast and the owner is nice. I figured I should at least try Biryani Tika Kabob since it's in the neighborhood. The experience experience was horrible and I'm very glad to continue going to Delicious Curry House. From Biryani Tika Kabob ordered Lamb Vindaloo which was extremely watery and flavorless. Also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which was also watery and flavorless. We ordered online and when we arrived the employee didn't have a clue and we waited for about 20 minutes until the food was ready. All in all an awful experience and we ended up asking for a refund, which they easily and gladly refunded. read more
